  1. Would you consider a part exchange? I have some light blue laces that I don't need anymore. Unfortunatly they have some superficial damage (slight fraying) on the left hand end, but they are still in perfect working order!!

I think they came with a pair of Nike trainers, so you can rest assured that they are of fine quality.

PM me if you would like to know more about them.

    Thanks

  2. I would have sworn there was a hotline number to report taxi's not using the meter or any other taxi-related problems, but I'll be darned if I can find out on searching. :o

    Anyone?

Not sure what it is offhand, but my girlfriend called it once when we were trying to take our shopping home from Carrefore Rama 4, and none of the 5 or 6 taxi's waiting there were willing to take us to Soi Soon Vijai (not too bloody far!!) One of the guys she asked was a rude prick, so she gave his reg number. :D

  3. My friend has just told me that some Farang guy (British, I think) has been arrested for beating his Thai girlfriend to death in their condo on Soi Tong Lor (my friend lives in the same apartment block) Aparently he tried to kill himself by sliting his wrists after, but somehow did not suceed and the police were able to catch him.

I'm sure that this will be confirmed with more details over the next few hours/days, but does anyone know more about this?

  4. It depends where you try to get one. The places that you mentioned; Kao San & outside MBK are both places that are frequented by tourists and as such sometimes attract some unscrupulous taxi drivers.

When I need to get a taxi after going to MBK I'll walk a few hundred meters in any direction first and flag one down.

You may get the same problem if you want to get a taxi outside of Tesco or Carrefour etc.

Outside of these areas tho, you should NEVER have this problem. If they won't turn on the meter just get out. Simple.

  5. n.b your in thailand....not u.s.a or same same....thai food,thailand...r u gettin it....not offal burgers

Thanks for the reminder growler. :o But I'm sure that you will agree after you've been living here for donkeys years you sometimes feel like a little taste of home now and again...

Edit: Sorry Growler, just checked your profile, I didn't realise you were still a newbie.

  6. I've got the Gold package and I don't think it's really worth the money. The movies are usuallly crappy, so mostly end up watchin the documentry channels which are pretty good to be fair.

But I want to watch English Language TV and UBC is easy to set up etc. so can't grumble too much.

  7. Its a beautiful cool..ie.cold crisp morning over "ere with a clear blue sky and the leaves on the green are turning to gold and starting to fall...winters coming.

I have just been up the road (couple of contracts on)and had a mug of tea and a bacon sarnie in the local Arsenal cafe ....nice one.... :D and quite honestly wouldnt at this moment rather be anywhere else......

Nowt wrong with LOS but for the time being its...Up the Smoke... :o

    London is looking GREAT...... :D

It sounds good. A change is as good as the rest.

Strange as it may be, I also miss the nice cold, crisp mornings in the UK...

  8. heathen, big city antics when in respectable countries All Saints Day is a time to remember and respect the dead...

    disgusting...

    Are you for real??! :o

Have you never heard of celebrating Halloween?

Anyway "All saints day" is the 1st of November, Halloween (AKA All Hallows Eve) is on the 31st of October.
