Federal prosecutors have considered four charges against Hunter Biden
candide replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
They must be very frustrated. 5 years of investigation by a Trump appointee, who had acess to all information, including bank transfers and Hunter's laptop content. It finally comes up with peanuts, such as late tax filling or buying a gun. -
Thailand’s General Election: Can the Winner Really Take All?
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In a previous post I mentioned mechanisms build in the constitution which may be used to oust a legally elected government without the need for a military coup. Here's a reminder of one of them. The mechanism is described in the first article: it involves the appointed Senate, the constitutional court, the NACC, and the supreme court, all controlled by the yellow-green network. "For the next 20 years, public administrations will be directed largely by the national strategy put forward by the National Council for Peace and Order. Governments failing to comply with the plan will face impeachment." https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/30357272 “Generally, it is all right if we have a long-term plan with no punishment for governments that do not follow the strategy, but the 20-year national strategy has imposed a penalty which could lead to an impeachment of the next election governments,” said Pipat https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/30355356 -
Prayut confident of making a comeback, but prepared “to go home”
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Prayut was only impersonating the power of the network which put him and Prawit into power. If Prayut goes, it does not mean this network will lose power and influence, as it includes most appointed people who have a direct or indirect influence on politics: the Senate, the Judiciary, the agencies such as the NACC or the EC, high-level civil servants, etc... -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
candide replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Ukrainian troops have established a bridgehead on the east bank of the Dnipro river, implying Russia's defensive positions are weakening, report says https://news.yahoo.com/ukrainian-troops-established-bridgehead-east-131645210.html -
Well, it did happen in one way or another, but only to red side or pro-democracy politicians. Not to the yellow-green side which controls the judiciary and semi-judiciary.

US defence secretary seeks to hearten Nato relations
candide replied to Social Media's topic in World News
As usual, Trumps statement is misleading. The military budget of each country is not "funding NATO". It's not like a cotisation that other members have to pay if some members don't pay enough. Each country spends for its own defence objectives, with a minimal coordination with NATO. It also doesn't address the core problem. Of course, it is better If members spend more, we all agree on it, but It's not the key issue. The key issue is how spendings are coordinated to optimise the efficiency of NATO as a whole. The total amount spent by European NATO members is far from being ridiculous, and is much higher than say, Russia. However, it is not optimised to avoid duplicated spending etc... For example, if Spain would increase its budget to buy tanks, and there would be already enough tanks in other countries, this budget increase would be useless. Edit. The 2022 total defense budget of European NATO countries is around $300 billion, in the same order of magnitude as China, and around 4 times Russia's defense budget. -

Good news! I hope we will soon know about what Hunter is precisely charged (and not charged) with. There have been so many baseless rumours... -

I know about it, That's why I wrote "unlikely". By early periods I meant around 2000+ years before Cleopatra. -
Not so nice try! Jordan edits a testimony to claim the opposite of what the witness said, and you accuse the guy showing Jordan is a liar, without providing any evidence. You have nothing (again). The extract sent is a part that had been conveniently truncated by Jordan (see his tweet in the article), because it clearly shows the opposite of what the Jordan claimed. https://www.politicususa.com/2023/04/21/jim-jordan-just-got-busted-with-evidence-of-his-hunter-biden-lies.html

As mentioned many times, Giuliani would have avoided raising such suspicion, if he had given a copy of the laptop to other media and to experts, instead of giving it only to the biased right-wing NYPost. Now what about an event really eroding public trust in democracy: the chairman of the house judiciary committee lying about a testimony: "In response to questions posed by Chairman Jordan’s own lawyers, he testified that Mr. Blinken did not “direct, suggest, or insinuate in any way” that he should write a letter about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Nor did Mr. Blinken—then a private citizen—try to get at the letter indirectly. Mr. Morell testified that Mr. Blinken did not hint that the Biden campaign “could use some help on this” or suggest that Mr. Morell should “cook up something” that the campaign should use." The issue is not what activists (on both sides) may say or do, but what scientific research is showing. -
As usual, Jordan lied! ???? candide replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
While it is very possible there were black pharaohs in early periods of the empire, it is unlikely Cleopatra was black. Then, as many issues, it has been poluted by politicization from different groups, Anyway, does it really matter when It's about entertainment?
