  1. It's not what the Statista chart is showing (in the post I replied to). I am not talking about the average rate over the whole mandate. I am talking about the different patterns in relation to the impact of crises. Fact is that the deficit grew during Trump's mandate under a good economic context (no impact of crisis), in 2017, 2018 and 2019 (pre-Covid) compared to the end of Obama's mandate under similar conditions. https://www.statista.com/statistics/222196/receipts-and-outlays-of-the-us-government-since-fiscal-year-2000/#:~:text=In 2021%2C the total receipts,to 5.7 trillion U.S. dollars.
  2. You fail to notice the impact of crises (or the absence of crisis). - There was a good reason for the budget deficit to increase at the beginning of Obama's presidency, as it was necessary to mitigate the effect of the crisis. - then the deficit increased at the beginning of Trumps mandate. There was no excuse for it, as the country had enjoyed a regular growth during years and the international economic environment was good. It was just to provide tax cuts to the "swamp"(????), and artificially stimulate the stock market. - then there was the Covid crisis, and again, it was necessary to increase the deficit to mitigate its impact (2020 and 2021) - after that, it starts to come back to more reasonable levels (2022). https://www.statista.com/statistics/222196/receipts-and-outlays-of-the-us-government-since-fiscal-year-2000/#:~:text=In 2021%2C the total receipts,to 5.7 trillion U.S. dollars.
  3. Different religions have different taboos and prohibitions, or are more sensitive to some issues than others. I am a confirmed secularist and opposed to the influence of religion outside the private sphere, whatever the religion involved. And I think this influence is too significant in the U.S., including elected politicians swearing on the bible or the Quran. This Muslim who complained was dumb, but many American Christians are just as dumb (and It's not restricted to Christians, of course), That's my point.
  4. Christian Americans have an extensive record of trying to impose (and actually imposing) their religious beliefs to the education system. For example, Christian Americans have been pushing for years (and still are) to impose the teaching of creationism and to hinder the teaching of evolutionism. It's a much larger phenomenon, and It's not the only one.
  5. It's not an ideology, It's an attitude and awareness. Can it lead to intolerance at some occasions? Maybe. However, it is basically about critical thinking, I.e. having a critical view of institutions, laws, infrastructures, etc...
  6. By definition, woke is a form of critical thinking. Of course, the right-wing propaganda is presenting only a caricature of it, for political reasons.
  7. A big difference is that Trump lied and goes on lying about it, because that's what liars do.... On top of it, these claims are quite ridiculous: - The FBI might be wrongly describing empty folders as actual documents - Trump was simply following the Presidential Records Act - and again, the lame claim that the feds might have planted evidence ???? Fact check: Trump’s latest baseless claims about the documents investigation https://edition.cnn.com/2023/01/19/politics/fact-check-trump-2023-documents-fbi-mar-a-lago/index.html
  8. When universities, which are supposed to be institutions promoting free speech and critical mind, are subject to religious censorship, whatever the religion concerned, something is going wrong.
  9. Maybe because they don't feel the need to define their masculinity through Pit Bull ownership....
  10. That's the fatal blow. If a dog is involved, the general public will not forgive him! ????
  11. Fine! These countries should not be spared.
  12. Not the same. Trump was "caught" lying and obstructing, not Biden
  13. Written sources can be quickly read and easily quoted
  14. A quote may be ambiguous without knowing the perspective and context. So what was your point exactly? What did he mean according to you?
  15. It's still aroung one percent lower than pre-covid but has been improving since 2020, not declining. Slowly improving, but improving.
  16. So funny! Trump is himself more caricatural than Alec Baldwin!
  17. Putin failed to develop his country. Russia is an economic dwarf despite huge resources
  18. There's a problem with the link. Here's the link to the Newsweek article. https://www.newsweek.com/trump-liv-golf-saudi-payments-dawn-1773996 In this case there is no imaginary financing. It's all known. Directly financed by MBS the ripper!
  19. And we can trust the GOP for that! 555! ????
  20. We didn't hear you complain when Trumps lawyers searched other locations than MAL. Actually, the procedure followed is more stringent than in the case of Trumps lawyer. Whenever Biden's lawyers see a classified document, they stop the search, leave it as it is, and call Sauber who is accredited to access classified documents. No such procedure in the case of Trumps lawyers. As BkkBrian mentioned, Trump lawyers have been ordered by a federal judge to search other locations than MAL. Federal judges usually don't order people to do something illegal, right? So if a federal judge orders lawyers to search places to find classified documents, we can logically conclude than it is not illegal for lawyers to search for classified documents, whether it is for Trump or for Biden.
  21. As shown in the Snopes article, the declassification argument comes from a tweet by MTG. ???? It seems some people get their information from MTG's tweets, believe her, and repost it in this forum. Who could reasonably trust anything coming from MTG?
  22. Lol! Similar analysis on Fox News! "Well, there are differences, but you can't make this stuff up. But there are differences," Rove responded. "For example, how many documents in Biden's case, there appear to be about 10. In the case of President Trump, hundreds." "How responsive were they?" Rove asked. "When the Biden people found out about it, they called immediately, called the appropriate authorities and turned them over. We spent a year and a half watching the drama unfold in Mar-a-Lago, and it had to end in a police search to recover the documents." https://www.salon.com/2023/01/11/seethes-on-truth-social-after-fox-news-analyst-debunks-his-lies-about-biden-classified-docs/
  23. Not an expensive lawyer, it seems! ????
  24. You can assume whatever you want, you have no evidence. This is being investigated by a special counsel, as demanded by the right-wing, we'll know more when the investigation is completed.
  25. There is no evidence he knew about it. It's you making an unsupported claim.
