  3. What a ridiculous country this is, no one seems to know what is going on. I'm doing nothing as I've been told by the Revenue office that I cant be taxed due to the DTA that's good enough for me. I mentioned Immigration not the office, my extension is next October.
  4. Went to my tax office again, explained to them I get pensions from the UK, pay tax in the UK. Thay yet again said "due to the double taxation agreement you won't pay tax here" If Immigration should mention it I just show them proof of my tax payments.
  5. Can you say what was needed as my tax office say I would need documents from the UK confirming funds coming into Thailand.
  6. I've been here 17 years and have only paid tax in the UK, I can not afford to pay twice, I could manage a small amount so I will use this Expat Thailand to get a TIN it costs 7,000bht which for me will be trouble free so dont mind the cost, all they want is a copy of your passport and visa. My local tax office wanted documents from the UK in order to get a TIN, they said it can be difficult.
  7. Investigated or audited who do you think I am? I'm a nobody bringing in less than 1 mill per year, pay tax in the UK, this is a ridiculous.
  8. I would get a TIN but it's very difficult to obtain, documents from your home country, translated into Thai by the Thai embassy in Bangkok, authentication by your countries embassy, ridiculous.
  9. I've received an email from Expat Thailand they get the TIN for you at a cost of 7,000bht. Is this good, all they need is your passport and vise page (copies).
  10. Yea gave me a bit of paper written on it is, You do not pay tax in Thailand. Signed The head man.
  11. They said you can get a tin if you want but you would need paperwork from the UK, I said no thanks they agreed.
  12. Just back from my local Tax office, man spoke English, explained to him, straight away he mentioned the double taxation agreement with the UK, I showed him that I was paying tax in the UK. He confered with the head man, "you do not pay tax here" I'm finished with this thread, I'm a simple person with simple finances.
  13. Incredible Thailand, government department pretending they have no idea because we are Farangs, you obviously know this from experience.
  14. This all must be a big wind up but because I'm so worried I will again try to ask at my local tax office, last time all they said was " pay tax in your country don't pay tax here" This thread seems to be full of people spouting opinions, "opinions are like ar%#oles everyone has got one"
  15. If you want to worry big time about tax just read all the comments.
  16. Wouldent use that, I get no adds, lots and lots of channels, my favourite is sy fi Star trek Voyager, star trek new generation, deep space 9.
  17. Don't know what live net is, I use an app which gives me 9000 channels, UK tv, sky, discovery etc no ads.
  18. Depends on what app you are using or they are using.
  19. If you are lucky enough to be in the position where you could re-locate that's great. Unfortunately I am here I can't afford to go anywhere else. Like you if I get an email or mail stating that I need to visit my tax office I will go, why should I pay double tax, no one said to me 17 years ago that I need to pay tax, I pay tax in the UK.
  20. Is it now law that I must file a tax return? Is it law that I must obtain a TIN? I'm a little fish in a big sea, I bring in less than 1 million per year via 3 small pensions, I pay tax in the UK. Why would they be concerned with me?
