  1. I just completed this quiz. My Score 100/100 My Time 46 seconds
  2. Decline what? Have somebody given you an offer? Deluded? You mentioned you have wife which quite surprises me to be honest, and that 'you' don't swing that way - just letting you know you should probably keep your wife out of this, its inappropriate and I'm not interested - be more respectful of her....
  3. And you still have nothing else to do, then be hooked on me. Richard, I already have a wife, and I don´t swing that way. Now, walk away! Why on earth would you bring your Wife into this ? ... if she's chosen you she's likely well below my standards, she may well be a lovely person, I have no idea, but I'll respectfully decline....
  4. I always found they were happy to accept money from any guy ...... young/old/fat/thin .... all the same price. Sure... go ahead an believe a 1000 baht note puts you on a level playing field with a younger more attractive guy who also has 1000 baht.... BTW - you are not one of the 'nasties' I alluded to in my comment, neither are you under any delusion that the women you go with aren't interested in you for the money. BUT... my point remains: When there is an influx of younger guys, even in 'monger-land' the girls will gravitate towards them and this may tend to leave the some of old hands somewhat bitter... this clearly manifests itself in some of the comments on these forums.
  5. Stories like this - which barely qualify as news - are effortlessly sensationalised. There's no powerful figure involved, no major player caught red-handed, nothing of real consequence. It's low-level fluff designed to provoke curiosity, and once a bit of 'netizen outrage' is stirred into the mix, the spotlight intensifies. Suddenly, everyone can pile in, feel morally aligned, and join the pile-on of outrage - this is somewhat amplified when a foriegner is involved and a mild surge of 'nationalism' can get thrown into the mix. ------- Just the other evening on the skytrain, a group of lads - clearly a few drinks in but entirely harmless - were talking, laughing, full of banter, with the occasional profanity thrown in and drew a little attention... Nothing out of the ordinary, just loud but benign banter.... When looking for the positives, they made space for others around them, gave up seats for the elders and females - just decent and spirited lads on a night out. .... But it only takes one person with a smartphone to capture a moment, slap on a caption like "Rude loud Farangs Invade BTS" and toss it onto social media. Cue the chorus of boomers wetting themsleves and losing their minds, demanding deportation and prison sentences over a moment that, in reality, was little more than rowdy chatter on public transport. The optics in the media can be easily distorted - blown out of proportion and exaggerated for the benefit of the minions and fools who cry “nuclear offence” at every trivial slight. That’s not to entirely dismiss the incident in question (pouring water in a vendors soup pot), but let’s be honest: on the very same day stories like this surface, there are far more pressing and horrific events happening. People are being shot, kids are stabbing and killing each other, pensioners are being beaten, thousands are being scammed out of their life savings... But those stories don't carry the same cheap thrill. Instead, the ‘face of a farang’ becomes an easy and convenient lightning rod for the “deport him!” mob - a quick win for those desperate to feel morally righteous without ever looking deeper....
  6. When corruption is so systemic it becomes normalised, it’s no longer shocking - it’s almost expected - but the publicity of this scam shows a huge degree of hubris - or perhaps is was a last minute 'dash' as the organisers realised they were working at a loss.. No prize money, no remaining face... they'd blown the budget ? But make not mistake - the 'organisers' will be sitting pretty - with sponsorship from MK and others, plus the entrance fees - they've profited nicely. So endemic is the graft within society that everyone’s queuing up for their shot at the grift, and events like this run are just the latest hustle in a long line of small-time scams that slip through the cracks as the organisers may well take greater profit that any fines they face. Until there's real accountability - actual prison time, asset seizure, public exposure - scams like this will keep happening. Because when everyone thinks corruption is normal, no one bothers to fight it. The organisers will likely get little more than a warning and a shrug from the system, while everyone else is left wondering whether they’re the fools for playing fair. It breeds a quiet distrust of almost everyone, yet somehow this sits alongside a society that remains naively, almost charmingly, positive - and that odd contradiction is exactly why Thailand continues to be such a strangely refreshing place to be.
  7. It looks rather deliberate to me.... he asked for the water, unscrewed it, then poured it in. He even 'appeared' to be laughing about as they pushed him away. I'm not sure how this could be looked at in a positive way, other than this didn't escalate into a violent encounter. But, interfering with a restaurant or food-vendors foods is inexcusable and simply wrong.
  8. Soo, little boy. Take a chill pill now. Yawn.... still trying even 24 hrs later - this is why you are known as a bit of a forum t!t...
  9. A lot of locals may as this isn't the first time for such an occurrence. I think that in areas of high tourist footfall, a self-perpetuating cycle of contempt often emerges from excessive familiarity. The constant influx of visitors - many of whom behave with little regard for local customs - can breed a weariness among those who serve them. Frequently staffed by transient, profit-driven workers with no deep-rooted ties to the area, these places often develop a brittle, transactional atmosphere. Daily exposure to the full spectrum of human manners tends to erode patience, fostering an underlying edginess that can verge on hostility. This simmering tension subtly infects every interaction, reinforcing the double-edged stigma that so often clings to heavily touristed destinations: one of superficial charm masking disdain. Fortunately, this impression tends to remain restricted to such areas and rarely bleeds into places 'considered more normal' where interactions are rooted in mutual respect and civility. Beyond the tourist hotspots, exchanges are more often grounded in a shared sense of human decency where courtesy prevails and each encounter is judged on its own merit, rather than clouded by stereotype or fatigue. I for one am relieved that, in the vast majority of cases, Thais possess the discernment to judge me, my family, and my friends with the same quiet respect and courteous indifference they extend to one another. It’s a mutual human understanding - simple, polite, and grounded in a shared recognition of dignity. This makes daily life here not only bearable, but pleasant.
  10. ... Its amusingly pathetic how you're still clawing for relevance in a dead exchange - you're not provoking me, you're just embarrassing yourself - it’s amusing how hard you’re trying.
  11. Nah, nothing you can say or post can be taken personally. It´s actually so common and built up by your standard way of communicating. The only thing I can relate to, is that it´s embarrassing to read. And yet, grotesque freak-shows like yourself always take it personally - otherwise you'd have no need to comment, let alone try to provoke yet another petty clash....
  12. IMO - this is quite lethal... Adaptive cruse control.. I'll explain why - my own mistake, but one with a very frightening result. I was driving down the relatively quiet highway at about 120kmh... following another car with the Adaptive Cruse control on (which follows at a 'set distance' and adjusts speed according to the car in front as they adjust speed)... The car in front pulled off and I carried on along the highway at 120kmh with the Adaptive Cruse Control still on (at 120kmh)... I saw a slow car up ahead, probably travelling about 60kmh in the middle lane. I saw in my rear view mirror a car approaching at speed, but with plenty of time for me to 'go around the slow car in front'... As I approached the car in front and drifted across to the right hand lane my car suddenly braked hard and slowed from 120kmh to 60km in an instant... the car behind approaching, then suddenly barrelling down on me at speed. ... It appeared that I had 'moved over towards the right-hand lane and slammed on my brakes'... The Adaptive Cruse Control had braked hard 'thinking / computing' I was going to hit the slow car in front. A catastrophic accident very nearly occurred due to computer interference - we have to use this tech with caution - I never used my Adaptive Cruse Control after that.
  13. I make no defence of this individual whatsoever - he’s clearly a reprehensible character with a dubious past, and Thailand would undoubtedly be better off without him. However, I am genuinely curious about how the Phuket Kwaeng Court initially dismissed the assault charges against Fehr, citing insufficient evidence. During the trial, the court also highlighted inconsistencies in Dr. Thandao’s testimony and noted that the video evidence failed to conclusively support the claim of assault. So, what exactly changed? What new evidence came to light that warranted reopening the case? While I have no sympathy for this man whatsoever, justice must be blind and impartial. If convictions can be overturned or reinstated without clear and compelling proof, we all risk being vulnerable to accusations swayed by personal animosity rather than facts. The very need to issue a statement (below) clarifying this only serves to underscore that concern, rather than dispel it.
  14. Not true: Outside the cesspits of farang mongery, I usually find myself met with a respectful indifference – the same easygoing courtesy Thai's extend to one another. From there, simple interactions often unfold into polite, genuinely pleasant exchanges. That always unsettled me a bit, I never saw myself as special, never sought to be treated that way. All I ever really wanted was a sense of equality rooted in normalcy, nothing more, nothing less. Is your disdain for other foreigners rooted in the feeling that their presence somehow dilutes your imagined kingship? That it threatens the illusion of your own specialness? 100% agree - this is far from normal behaviour. Its bizarre and borders on delusion... as if he genuinely believes he’s playing an amusing joke that they'll laugh at. Arguably, a lot of the ‘nasties’ are long-timers who feel their ‘market share’ shrinking with the influx of younger men competing on the same hunting grounds and they 'blow a fuse'... That said, Thailand courts this over-tourism, and in places like Pattaya and Patong, they inevitably reap what they attract. It’s that particular mix of expat and tourist - though, of course, many like you [SF] are exceptions and truthfully, the vast majority of tourist and expats are well mannered and polite and Thailand still draws such decent folk. That said, I honestly don’t understand why anyone would choose to live in Pattaya or Patong. The blend of monging sex pests and two-week millionaires, overlapping with respectful long-timers, often leads locals to lump them all together with contempt. That’s precisely why I steered clear of those areas when I first moved to Thailand over 20 years ago.
  15. Awwwww, forgive me, princess... I usually reserve corrections for the truly dim-witted - though I can see why you'd take that personally....
  16. It is extremely strange behaviour - its almost as if he's laughing and thinks its a joke... Very odd... but so is digging up these anti-foreigner-stories to trigger a response under the pretence that our 'Thai is being aided'...
  17. Just another mental case provocateur trying to tigger people and baiting for attention. He posts in Thai not out of relevance, but in the hope someone calls it out as a breach of English-only rules – so he can smugly pounce with, “This is the Thai forum.” Make no mistake: the calculated use of loaded terms like “another bully”, paired with the strategic language choice, is typical textbook trolling with one purpose in mind... --------- As for the video: The man’s a drunken fool, plain and simple. He should be held accountable for the damage caused.
  18. In that case the Police involved with this sitation were complete and utter lazy morons... Too lazy to enforce their own laws instead choosing to sweep this under the carpet because the rider who went down is likely considered poor and insignificant The question of fault here is glaringly obvious; there is no ambiguity, no nuance. The facts speak for themselves. ---------- That said, the rider who went down was undeniably riding too quickly for the conditions - something all too common among motorcyclists who delay exercising caution until it’s far too late. However, this lapse in judgement does not absolve the other party of responsibility, especially when they pulled out directly into the rider’s path. It is rather bewildering that one specific poster has entirely overlooked the most self-evident aspects of the situation, instead attempting to lay blame on the fallen rider. His ability to ignore such a clear-cut scenario borders on the surreal, as though his viewing the world through a lens so distorted it hinges on mental illness.
  19. I don't think its anything so organised... Its whatever is on the supporting documentation (CoR or YellowBook / Pink ID) that that order depends purely on the whoever generated that document.... thats about it IMO.
  20. Then the following reasons exist: 1) You've either registered with a Pink ID / Yellow House Book - and that ID number is listed 2) You haven't looked at the bottom line of the front of your Driving licence 3) You've been issued a Fake driving license through an agent All driving licenses in thailand have a National ID number on it... Thats either an ID from your Passport, or a Thai Issues ID number (specific to you).
  21. Absolutely agree - without question. First and foremost, though, full credit to the lads. Outstanding effort all round. Turning to the education aspect of the discussion - yes, without a doubt, the following should be mandatory in schools: - First Aid (with a focus on first responder training) - Electrical Safety (including emergency first aid for electrical incidents) - Water Safety (drowning remains a leading cause of death among under-15s in Thailand) - Road Safety (virtually every Thai will be driving some form of vehicle from the age of 15 onwards) These are fundamental, real-life, life-saving skills that should be part of every school curriculum - not just in Thailand, but globally. Thai children, in particular, are statistically more likely to encounter these hazards than many of the theoretical scenarios presented in other academic subjects. That’s not to dismiss the value of the broader curriculum, but these four essential life skills arguably carry greater day-to-day importance. Frankly, it’s baffling that they aren’t already a core part of mainstream education.
  22. We had somewhat of a similar issue. Firstly the Amphur officer (lady) told my Wife that my Visa didn't exists, so the couldn't carry out the process (that was comical - I was over seas), wife pushed and was flippantly given a date 2 months away... We turned up on the date - all documents and witness... the Amphur Officer really didnt have a leg to stand on... and went through the process. A lot of work for her - at least an hour and a half of document shuffling, sighing stamping, checks etc... a paperwork headache for her. She was actually every polite once she'd accepted that she was going to have to do the work, but I understand the reluctance and attempt to fob us off... I saw that it was a fair bit of paper work for them when instead they could be doing something else (on their phone etc)... So... bkknikio - Push.. turn up.. push again... Ask for a supervisor, push for a fixed appointment. All they are doing now is playing the game of kicking the can down the road because its work for them, thats all...
  23. So many W.T.F.... points in this story... this is one of the worst - the father should be arrested, prosecuted for assault and the school should be leading this drive along with the police. Clear Assault on a defenceless child - Only an arrest and charges can be the outcome - there no mitigating circumstances for this whatsoever. Excellent - good on the family for being strong enough on this spineless school director. But, the measures are utterly disjointed, knee-jerk and pathetic highlighting how the school have absolutely no idea how to handle a situation.... they use a generalised policy punishing all, rather than individually dealing with the situation. Ban the 'specific parent' from entering the the school premises, not all others.
  24. Where can I find those free Covid & flu jabs, please? The fact that you're asking that question indicates you are missing the cognitive firepower to navigate the document and information requirements to secure a Yellow House Book & Pink ID in the first place... You've just disqualified yourself from the conversation entirely having rendered your own point moot. --------- The Vaccines were free to Thai's and foreigners with the Pink ID at the beginning of the vaccine roll out - this was at a time when many (foreigners) were complaining that they had no access to vaccines... Yet those with Pink ID could register on the Mor Prom App and secure a place in line. - This in itself saved me tens of thousands $$ as it enabled me to travel for work again. - Regular Vaccine roll out, widely available for foreigners (paying) and Thais (also paying) occurred many months later.
  25. OK - so that makes sense... IF you have the Pink ID and Yellow House Book... the pink ID can be used to access banking services in the same manner your Passport might be needed... The convenience is - that you can 'pop into a bank' without your passport - BUT, the trip still often needs to be a 'planned trip' as we often need a our Bank Book too.... To be honest - most banking is done via mobile phone now anyway - so much of this is somewhat of a moot discussion - there's not advantage to a Pink ID here, just a mild layer of additional convenience at times.
