  1. I can't install them at mom's house but was thinking that for mine, although I kept putting it off as the majority of the dogs that come to my house come for attention and live elsewhere. Could that actually be the issue ?... That the dogs are 'roaming' and people do not like that ? A couple of stories of Moobans near me. One Moobaan: a wealthy Chinese owner brought in a pitbull - local residents complained to the juristic committee and the dog was removed within a few days. Another Moobaan: All residents have been told, dogs (and cats) must have a collar. Dogs cannot 'roam' but must be secured and always on a leash when being walked in the communal area's. If a dog is found roaming free with a collar the owner will receive a fine (don't know how they'll enforce that). If a dog is found roaming free the without a collar it will be removed - the owner has 1 week to collect the dog. If the dog is not collected, it will be 'taken elsewhere' (not sure where, but I'm guessing sold to off somewhere for If a cat is found without a collar, it will be removed and 'taken elsewhere' (not sure how they'll catch it). The issue as always is that once a little leeway is given people take liberties and we can't have dogs roaming off leash where children are playing. The issue with cats is they spray everywhere and scratch things.
  2. Oh absolutely - because you're just that much of a prize, aren’t you? Any woman would be blessed to snare you. They must be tripping over themselves, building traps and laying bait. It’s a full-blown stampede out there. The level of delusional, chest-puffing misogyny on this forum is pure comedy gold. That said, amidst the nonsense, there are voices of reason - people who clearly have a balanced grip on reality. And no, being single doesn’t disqualify you from being sane. But judging by the venom some people spit, it’s obvious their worldview’s been warped by bitterness and bruised egos.
  3. Well, if you think Marriage is a trap, there's a very lucky woman out there who dodged a bullet...
  4. Did it a few days ago - I must say I was impressed. Having gone through numerous CoE (Certificate of Entry) processes before (Covid era) which were riddled with bugs and hiccups and an ever changing and evolving process... Then the online reporting TM28 debacle, when the website sometimes works, sometimes doesn't etc... I wasn't expecting smooth sailing with this - I was wrong. Very easy - took mere minutes to fill out before boarding. No issues whatsoever. Its going to speed up immigration arrivals significantly - hopefully it will have a huge impact on queues... Even the Immigration officers seemed a little more 'relaxed' as they had less to input, they simply cross-checked data... I think this is one of the best improvements to the 'arrival process' of Thailand in a long time.
  5. Possibly - this is the one I always use (and have used my Pink ID / Yellow Book). It would actually make for an interesting list where forum members have had first hand experience of successfully using their Pink ID / Yellow Book you renew their licenses. - I travel too frequently to ever do a 90 days report. - As such, I am unable to get a CoR (from Chaeng Wattana Immigration - unless something has recently changed) - UK Consulate Notary services are ridiculously expensive (2000 baht for an Affirmation of Address, I think). - UK Consulate Notary services are also somewhat 'wishy-washy' about the Elite Visa being what they call a 'long term visa' (even though its 5 years (and I have membership for life) - I've had discussions with them on this issue in the past (more than 10 years ago). Thus: With certainty, the Pink ID / Yellow Book has helped out a lot for my personal situation at DLT Area 3 in BKK.
  6. In the past, some posters have expressed that individuals possessing the pink ID often portray it as something exceptional - a mark of distinction that supposedly confers special status. Consequently, these critics tend to react quite negatively to any mention of the pink ID, at times even resorting to misinformation in an effort to legitimise their apparent disdain for it. Why some become so agitated remains unclear - yet they do. It’s reminiscent of the perennial debates around digital versus cash transactions: opposing voices frequently offer arguments so fundamentally flawed they verge on the absurd, all in an effort to justify their position. In truth, a more balanced perspective is invariably the wiser course.
  7. He's not clueless about it - I called him out of the first page of this thread... so he had to 'play along a little more'... Par of for the course with some such posters is to 'attempt to create' conflict... post mildly contradictory information to trigger a debate - the Yellow Book discussion has surfaced multiple times per year, for years. He's asking 'what exactly a pink ID card is' he knows exactly what it is.
  8. CoR / Affirmation of Address / Yellow Book - Pink ID.... None of them required for selling a vehicle. This is a common misconception.
  9. Valid point - My renewal is due this year... Its entirely possible that at DLT Area 3 BKK (where I go), that the rules have changed... Its seems there is a lack of consistency regarding the Pink ID / Yellow House Book being acceptable for Driving Licence renewal. That said: I'm expecting no changes: - Passport copy - Visa Page copy - Yellow Book & Pink ID - Medical Cert - Video QR Code - On the day in-class tests (eyes reaction etc)
  10. The same happened with me - at the time, lots of people (Foreigners) complaining that they were excluded from vaccination plans. I too registered with Mor Prom App... I was vaccinated ahead of my Wife and her parents. There are other 'advantages' that I've read of in these threads, but also a lot of misinformation, also a lot of conflicting information as experiences vary from province to province.
  11. They tried that with me as well, because They are lazy, but when I handed them the pink cars, they found another reason, Honda Pitsanulok lost one customer, Nakhon Sawan got one new I've had similar experiences in the past (buying a car and motorcycle) - Neither dealership really knew exactly what was required, fortunately I did. - The car: Sales said I needed a work permit - I requested their manager, brief discussion before they understood, that to register the car in my name the Yellow House Book is sufficient. - The Bike: Sales said I needed a CoR - I corrected them and told them I'll register the bike myself and did so at the DLT with the Yellow House Book. There are a lot of people who would say 'cannot' simply when they do not know.
  12. In short.....No, “Thais are the children of Asia” is not a Japanese phrase - not in language, culture, or common usage. It does not exist in Japanese idiom or proverbs, and there is no record of it being a traditional saying or a recognised expression in Japan. Native Japanese speakers and scholars of Japanese culture would likely find the phrase unfamiliar and puzzling. If it has ever been said, it’s likely from a non-Japanese source, possibly used metaphorically, patronisingly, or romantically by an outsider referring to Thailand’s cultural charm or position in Asia. Thus: where did you get this 'idea' from that the Japanese say this ???
  13. I think you are referring to the frequent incidents on the Rama II construction. The 'bits falling down are not completed parts, but areaa under-construction areas, with the most notable collapse being the collapse of the 'gantry crane' - I think all the incidence have been from 'human error' rather than any lack of structural integrity or material failure. Given the local magnitude of the quake in Bangkok, the elevated road infrastructure held up incredibly well. A perfect example of this is the Bumibol Bridge network (photo below) - that stood fast, along with far older elevated infrastructure.
  14. In short - the 'Juristic' person needs to get changed out very quickly.... They acted unlawfully in cooperating with the scammers. Legally, no one can purchase the property without either the presence of the owner or Notarised Power of Attorney - thus any access to the property might be considered breaking an entering, even by the Juristic person, any damaged caused, criminal damage, anything removed, theft. Quite worrying that the juristic team could be so relaxed, not only to side with the 'scammers' but to give them any access at all. Also alarming, is how did the scammers know the owner was 'absentee' ?
  15. Registering vehicles and property, renewing both motorbike and car licenses (outside of Pattaya). 🙂 All require a certificate of residence which cannot be reused. 🙂 I see where the misunderstanding came from... (I've rephrased) Nothing can be done with the Yellow Book / Pink ID that can't with a passport or other documentation - but having the Yellow Book / Pink ID has saved time and money over the years, certainly not needed, but they add a layer of convenience. To clarify: Renewing a Drivers License at DLT Area 3 (Bangchak, Bangkok) can be carried using the Yellow Book / Pink ID (and a number of other DLT's too - but not all) - a CoR is not required.
  16. Was he in the process of trying to find out where everyone met their significant other ????
  17. Thats been one of the most 'common' comments on this forum in response things working out differently... ... I think people see the occasional guy looking like a bum and assume everyone else dresses that way when they face a bureaucratic brick-wall. Its long been noted that the Yellow Book / Pink ID is not accepted at the DLT in Pattaya. In Bangkok, the regulations are interpreted differently and we can use the Yellow Book / Pink ID which makes things much easier. Its the same for opening Bank accounts, travel, checking into hotels etc. Also, for having someting 'small' at hand (in the wallet) if asked for ID (but in 'most' cases a driving license will suffice and beyond that, a photo of the passport our phone will). Nothing can be done with the Yellow Book / Pink ID that can't with a passport - but having these documents has saved time and money over the years, certainly not needed, but they add a layer of convenience.
  18. Polite face saving terminally for corruption and graft to such a degree that it could be classified as criminal negligence causing death and even Manslaughter. Turns out that was fairly close... Charges of professional negligence causing death (per sections 227 and 238 of the Criminal Code) have been levied - news today.
  19. You’ve just unlocked the final level of the universe.... ..... Next up: ordering Schrödinger’s cat and hoping it doesn’t fight the chicken.... or worse, lay an egg !!!
  20. Possibly... Thai tourists, unfortunately, tend to carry a rather poor reputation in Japan. Over the past five years - particularly since the introduction of visa-easing measures - there’s been a marked increase in Thai visitors, alongside an even more significant influx of Chinese tourists. This surge has arguably intensified a growing local resentment towards mass tourism in general in Japan. Japanese airline ground staff, especially at check-in counters, can be astonishingly pedantic. They enforce regulations with almost robotic precision - a single kilogram over the baggage allowance or a centimetre beyond size limits can incur additional fees, no exceptions. I once found myself in such a situation. My bag, containing ski equipment, measured 191cm - just 1cm over the stated limit. What followed was a minor circus with multiple staff members getting involved over the 1cm drama.. ... I stood the bag up, shook it, laid it down, asked them to re-measured... it was declared acceptable. And therein lies the issue: what in Thailand might be overlooked as a trivial discrepancy is, in Japan, handled with rigid formality. Pair that cultural contrast with a simmering frustration over ‘over-tourism’ and perhaps a sense of entitlement or a “Do you know who I am?” attitude from some visitors... and you’ve got the perfect conditions for the kind of incident we so often read about. As for the matter of the man grabbing the woman’s arm - it’s inappropriate and very wrong, I don’t condone it. But to label it as assault seems to be rather a stretch...
  21. To the burnt cannabis and your posts ???... I'd say Most definitely !!!... (Apologies - but the door is so frequently left not just ajar, but wide open, inviting mockery.)
  22. Well said... Although the criticism was levied at the driver who'd 'placed' his wife in the boot / trunk to make-way for the passengers... Its nothing more than rather amusing, thats all it is. This is still much much safer for all invovlved than sitting on the back of a motorycycle or in a tuktuk !... In fact - I'm a strong advocate for road safety and wearing of seatbelts at all times... However, there have been times were we have placed our children (2 of them) in the hatch back area of the car (usually a 5 seater) when travelling a few kms down the road (on Koh Chang etc) where traffic isn't fast and I consider such actions a bit of harmless fun.... (Hit a main road, highway or expressway - and no one is in the car without a seatbelt). This is definitely a case of 'shoe-horning' faux-outrage out of something all rather harmless....
  23. I know these girls well, Sadly they've told me that they cannot buy their underwear from 7-Eleven. They get them from Malcy... apparently he earns their genuine-respect buying their uniforms etc...
  24. You are correct... I just accept that they don't care... and 31" is not going to mean 31"... Its cheap online stuff... thats all - buy a few different sizes and return the ones you don't want - this is the only way I've found this stuff works.
