You're not from the Morris Marina era then.....????
Don’t laugh but I had a company 1.8 Marina in the 70s. Most unreliable car ever - went through 5 differentials and the wheel spacers I put on it buggered the bearings! ????
It was a Toyota Supra twin turbo manual followed by an M3 when I had my own business..

There's no point to that when this government does nothing about pickups and old vehicles billowing out <deleted> into the atmosphere. Better to go and moan to the Chinese who are worst polluters on earth. Besides I lovey diesel CRV that pollutes less than the petrol version. Also, there is not much infrastructure to support electric vehicles at this time. What do you drive?
I’m quite interested in a CRV and liked the idea of diesel vs the old technology petrol engines they offer. But I’m put off by the low 1.6 capacity and BHP output. I’d imagine it would underperform. I test drove a crv hybrid while in uk which was very good in that respect but don’t think that’s available here ?

Thailand is a large third-world country. The police are only semi-trained and buying their own ammunition is not conducive to any firearms practice! The Law allows them to carry guns, the Law allows them to fire their weapons without seeking permission. The blame should be on the Law rather than the policeman who unwisely shot poorly from a moving vehicle! And in Thailand the Law ain't gonna change!
While not disagreeing with your central point,Thailand is not a third world country, it’s in the top 30 by GDP - which only puts its low priorities of properly training their police in an even worse light.

If anyone wants to know what the Thai faux-elite REALLY think of their fellow Thais (the serfs), just look at what they have doggedly and consistently and persistently NOT done, decade after decade after decade, to stop the slaughter of Thais on the roads.
This is the highest proof (if proof were needed) that the 'elected' leaders of the land DO NOT CARE A WHIT ABOUT THAIS! THE SERFS' TINY AND GROVELLING LITTLE LIVES ARE MEANINGLESS AND WORTHLESS IN THE EYES OF THE 'ELITE'.
Well yes,but the innate stupidity of Thai drivers not taking the most simple and basic precautions (replace a rear tail light) etc rather leads me to believe that they rather reap what they sow.

It’s a terrible way to tie up funds as an investment. The few extra requirements switching to marriage is well worth the effort.

Probably, but I have serious doubts about the raw material too.

Phrasing it as he has is deflection. A developing Asian economy should not be contemplating recession but the forecast drop in growth from over 4% is very significant. Look at it in context of Thailand’s neighbours/competitors and it is worrying.

strange. in the past we would use the word "slash" when the result was a large reduction. but in today's world 2.7 percent GDP growth is not bad at all, even almost compared to China in it's "trade/5G war". not bad at all!
It may be ok in a mature Western economy but It’s not good for a developing (Tiger) economy. Look at the recent growth of Thailand’s neighbours, like Vietnam and Thailand is almost bottom in the region. China would be in serious trouble if its growth fell to less than 4.5%. More worrying is the long term trend signalled by poor educational performance (see article about Thailand’s critical thinking being the world’s worst) and unstable political situation. It’s not encouraging

The first requirement of critical thinking is to analyse and assess the issue you are addressing. Your comment has failed at the start point by communicating none of that - so welcome to 'the most' you referenced. ????

The only way to survive here on the road, is to be patient, have eyes in the back of your head, drive with caution, and always, and I mean always watch out of the other guy. Chances are, he does not have much driving skill, nor patience, nor reason, nor common sense. You cannot be too careful on the road here. Especially considering that the local police franchisees, offer no traffic safety, nor enforcement of the law.
When I was growing up, we took drivers education courses. They showed us horrendous films, or semi trucks plowing into cars, and literally obliterating everything in their path. They also showed us graphic images of head on collisions. 120mph impacts. Even as a young kid, it made quite an impression. It was horrific, and it was hard to get those images out of your head afterwards. But, it left a lasting impression, and when I started driving, I understood it was serious business, and that it was a very dangerous thing to do. Also, I remember my Mom telling me about courtesy, pulling over for emergency vehicles, and being kind and respectful to other drivers. Do the locals ever hear anything like that?
I see people driving here, with their families in the car, and doing things, and taking the kinds of risks no rational or sane person with common sense would do. What for? To gain one minute? Why take those risks? What is the logic? Often, when I am cruising along at 100kph, someone cuts right in front of me. Or someone comes out from the side road, right in front of me. I have to slam on my brakes, or change lanes to avoid him. I look in my rearview mirror, and there is nobody behind me. So, if he had waited two seconds, he would have had completely safe passage onto the highway. What gives? Where is the intelligence, caution, and prudence? Where is the common sense? What about just the survival instinct?
"Where" you might reasonably ask ,indeed. Following numerous examples of this complete lack of sense in so many facets of Thai life my friends and I were discussing The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins and we jokingly came up with the theory that there might exist a "Thick Gene". Now we wonder about the saying 'many a true word is spoken in jest'...

I see the same, some of those friends being doctors and nurses and having seen accident victims from close by.
How can they be so blind that one day they unsuccesfully operate on someone who lost his life because of not wearing a seatbelt, and the next day they dont wear one themselves?
It’s even more dangerous in these circumstances now with the advent of airbags. I know someone who had a collision with a motorbike .not enough to trigger injury to the occupants but set off the passenger airbag that broke the kids neck sitting on the passengers lap and killed it.
The short answer to your question....they’re just dumb.
