Just don't bother with anything. Neither the will, the culture or the intelligence exists to address the issue- they are quite happy to continue with what they regard as acceptable carnage. Proof? If they can't be arsed to replace a 50 baht bulb in the rear light that is their evaluation of their own worth.

Anyone have a recommendation for a vpn to access BBC iplayer? According to their site it blocks access when it thinks/ detects a vpn. Also if it is good as a general purpose vpn simply to gain access to sites rather than an anonymity aspect. Express vpn has been mentioned in a previous thread but think relating to Netflix rather than anything else.

A Thai with intelligence?
An oxymoron, with the emphasis on the second syllable. The conundrum then remains as to who would devise the test.

I've noticed over the Years my Ferang Chums here who constantly bleat about bad driving here are rather unsafe themselves. The non bleaters are rather good, and I don't mind being a passenger with them. They tend to be the Non Office Types, with no chip on shoulder, and just handle a situation..It's not only Thais that cause probs,my Ozz mate collects Wing Mirrors from Big C car parks, like trophies.?

Yes. 10 years oh roaming all the back streets of thailand cities without incident nor even a concern tells me the truth.
It's absolutely false news. But they need to keep pumping out reports fact or fiction, it's there jobSo a poll sample of two produces reliable statistics?

he also could not 'of' (sic) learned basic grammar and be a mod specializing in visa questions.

But that gentleman, for whom I have the utmost respect, would never contextualise it in such a crass comment which was the only reason for being a grammar pedant in this instance.

He could of gone and worked in a factory or in construction, he looks pretty fit to me. But took the lazy option instead, maybe 30 mins work a day max.As you could 'of' (sic) learned basic grammar- but you both made different choices.

Thanks to Wayned and kamalabob for that guidance. I think you're both pointing in the direction of Makita rather than unknown Brands. Are the likes of Global/ Homepro stockists? Maybe negotiating with a specialist dealer is cheaper anyway?
I think he'd like to see one or two models in the flesh to decide .

My brother in law works laying ceramic tiles and building walls in general housing. He needs to replace a small inadequate cutter with a more robust perhaps (industrial?)general purpose cutter suitable for tiles also. He budgets around 5000 baht but as he's about to do some work for us I don't mind topping up if something particularly good. I looked on Lazada which had a few options within that price range but they were unbranded ,no warranty and no cod payment option which isn't encouraging. Any general advice on brands and where to buy in the Korat area is welcome . Travelling to Swampy today so if anything en route could stop off. Thank you

Perhaps the PM should visit the rural parts of the LOS and take a look at the 'Lamsing' concerts that are staged regularly in the villages and enjoyed by thousands.
Lines of teenage girls across the front of the stage thrusting their pelvic regions towards the crowd as the singer adds her 'nether region' references and observations....... all enjoyed by all, young and old............ while a few police keep the hooligan element at bay.
GPS coordinates please....quickly I'm on my second thrust!

You're absolutely right. Prayuth has basically just guaranteed her next few record deals as well as sold out concerts for the foreseeable. I do hope the western tabloid press get hold of this. Is there a dumber head of state anywhere?
It has,it's in the Times today and of course it's expanded to cover his other daftness and reminds the world thailand is under military rule. What's astonishing is that time and again they shoot them selves in the foot ending up as a laughing stock but remain oblivious. So the answer to your question is ..probably not.

Every educational system in the world leaves their students under prepared for the future, especially when there won't be enough decent paying jobs for many (most?) of them.
Try looking at Singapore's system then- and their performance in PISA tables. With no natural resources they understood long ago that the only thing they had to trade is their knowledge.

It is astonishing how virtually ALL the staff in shops where their terminal has a pin input facility to use with cards that require it simply don't know about it,let alone how to use it. You literally have to take over the process yourself....and they never remember next time you go back! On the few occasions I've had a transaction declined by the bank it is always with outlets where the terminal has no pin input facility . If the card is subsequently blocked, my nationwide select card gets immediately unblocked as soon as I advise them by secure message that it was legitimate. They often phone or text just after the attempt ed transaction to verify.
I cannot understand the reason for your bank needing to send another card rather than use the process I described.

Why not just do it in the U.K.? Why waste a day if your holiday on simething so worthless (albeit necessary).
Depends where they are in uk. Would involve a potentially long expensive trip to Kensington (twice?) to apply then collect. If staying near Bangkok the logistics might be easier.

There is no legal requirement to enter on Thai passports.
Even on expired Thai passports they could still enter Thailand.
But the airline would prevent you travelling without a valid travel document.

Also, legally they have to enter and exit Thailand on their Thai passports
Is that genuinely true? If their Thai passport had expired but had valid uk ones does that mean they can't come?

She could have charged the lost amount to his credit card number. You can manually input credit card numbers in the terminal.
She won't have a record of the full number and that would be fraud

Shopping malls- yet another one, yeah really great entertainment and interesting cultural development. The city is a hot ,traffic infested dump. Apart from a tired zoo and a water park what else has it really got to offer? No natural beauty . Yes I live 70 kilometres from there and apart from going to stock up with commodity shopping it's got nothing to offer.
