Would you like more salt with that opinion sir?

The topic here is Russia has paid $10 million to a right wing propaganda station to help Trump. Verified by the Justice Department. Find me the same that shows Russia has done the same to aid either Biden or Harris (from a reputable source) and I'll agree with you. In the meantime, I won't hold my breath.

Here, here and that’s notwithstanding the VAST amount of his previous administration who also won’t back him https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4127964-dozens-of-former-trump-cabinet-officials-wont-publicly-support-his-2024-reelection-bid/ -
Really? And your evidence for this with both Iran and China actively promoting Harris through situations like this is exactly what? There's not been a single piece of evidence to back this up so is it just another one of your fantasies to detract from Russian interference in Trumps favour, time and time again.

That is some delusional stuff right there. So who do you think Russia wants to win because they seem to be pouring an awful lot of resources into it being Trump and have for many, many years https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_interference_in_the_2016_United_States_elections https://www.gmfus.org/news/fact-sheet-what-we-know-about-russias-interference-operations

Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?

Thanks to Obama. Trump just rode the already lifting wave after Obama rescued the country from the most serious financial meltdown since The Great Depression. A meltdown caused by Reagan, perpetuated by Clinton but still under the previous Bush GOP government. -
And for some reason you dismiss it likes it’s nothing, but if it was against the Dems you’d be all over it like a rash. Your hypocrisy and identity politics knows no bounds. Whether direct collusion or indirect I think I’d be super concerned I was supporting a candidate that Russia obviously wants to win.

It's nonsense like this that totally undermines any (occasional) valid point you may have. Dems don't want 'open borders' - don't be ridiculous. They do however want congress to put in some sensible measures that accommodate legitimate asylum seekers in a timely and efficient manner whilst not grouping them in the same category as economic/illegal immigrants. The US has a VERY long border and it's nigh on impossible to patrol the whole length of it, so no amount of wall building is every going to stop illegal immigration - but the GOP use it as a hammer because there's not much else they can fault the Dems on right now. And let's admit it, it plays particularly well to the MAGA brigade who like to blame everyone other than themselves for their problems. And closing the border is just a ridiculous suggestions. Do any of you know how much legitimate business goes through the border? The hit on GDP would be catastrophic.

So exactly what did you think was 'garbage'. Just so you know what was proposed (as I doubt you took the time to read it, here are the highlights:- 1. Once illegal border crossings reach a certain threshold, the Department of Homeland Security would be required to exercise a new emergency authority that bars migrants, from crossing the border between ports of entry. The authority would automatically kick in if crossings rise above 5,000 on average per day on a given week, or 8,500 in a single day. 2. Asylum officers from US Citizenship and Immigration Services will decide on the asylum cases of migrants at the border. The legal standard of proof for passing an initial screening will be higher. And those applying will also have to prove they could not have moved to another part of their country to avoid persecution. Those who pass initial asylum screenings will immediately be eligible for work permits. Those who don’t pass the screenings can appeal to an asylum review board. If they lose their administrative appeal, which must occur within 72 hours, they will be ordered removed from the US without additional review. 3. The use of Alternatives to Detention, like ankle monitors and special cell phones used for check-ins with authorities, is already on the rise. This proposal would expand the use of these alternatives, as those who are allowed into the US to continue their asylum cases will be placed into the program. 4. Several groups that have been lobbying hard for more protections from Congress made notable headway in this deal: • If it’s passed, Afghan evacuees to the US who’ve been in limbo since the fall of Kabul in 2021 would get a pathway to citizenship. • Many so-called “documented Dreamers” who were brought legally to the US as children of parents with visas would also find themselves on more solid footing, becoming eligible for work permits and being allowed to remain part of their families’ applications for green cards after they turn 21. • The bill would also provide federal dollars to fund legal representation in immigration court for unaccompanied minors under 13. 5. A proposal for 2025 includes a $4.7 billion emergency fund for border security to enable the Department of Homeland Security to ramp up operations in the event of a migrant surge. Also $405 million to hire 1,300 more Border Patrol agents, funding to keep ICE’s 34,000 existing detention beds, $1 billion for aid to Central America to address the root causes of migration, and nearly $1 billion to address the backlog of over 2.4 million pending cases in U.S. immigration courts. To combat fentanyl smuggling, Biden asked for funding to hire an additional 1,000 CBP officers who can stop the illicit drug from coming across the U.S.-Mexico border and $849 million for technology to detect fentanyl at the border. Sources - Biden's proposed budget includes $4.7 billion emergency fund for border migrant surges (nbcnews.com) What the border security bill would and wouldn’t do | CNN Politics Please be precise in your answers to include what you would offer as an alternative other than the highly impractical and very illegal 'close the border' that I hear from so many Trump fans.

Trump, Abortion is no Longer a Significant Factor in Election
johnnybangkok replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not even if it was conceived through rape or incest or if brought to term would be most definitely have brain damaged leading to them effectively being a cabbage or if their birth would cause the mother to die? Is the life of an embryo more valuable than an actual living person? Again, this is a medical issue not a political one highjacked by Trump to appeal to the religious right. But it could be the deciding factor for an awful lot of American, women voters. -

So misinformed it's scary. The main reason not to limit abortion to 6-8 weeks is many women don't know they are pregnant in this time. 'You typically won’t know you’re pregnant until you miss a period and take a pregnancy test. Many people have irregular menstrual cycles — they can be thrown more out of whack due to stress, being sick, or taking certain medications. And that can make it even more challenging to keep track of your period. Doctors count the age of a pregnancy from the first day of your last period. So that means by the time you miss your period and find out you’re pregnant, you’re at least four weeks pregnant. Even if you have a regular 28 day cycle and are watching your period like a hawk, that still means the window to get an abortion would be about two to four weeks. Two weeks to make a decision, find child care, take off work, find the money to pay for the procedure, and deal with the other laws in Texas that are designed to shame you and delay your care, like a mandatory 24 hour waiting period for most people and a requirement that all patients receive state-mandated counseling and ultrasound. For these reasons and more, before this law went into effect, roughly 85% of abortions in Texas occurred after six weeks'. What Does a 6-Week Abortion Ban Even Mean? (plannedparenthood.org) But yeah, if you don't agree just uproot yourself away from friends and family you have built over your whole life, move to a completely different state, try and get a new job and completely change your life because a couple of ill-informed religious nutters think they should control a woman's body and her right to self determination. This is NOT a political argument it's a medical one and the professionals (like in most civilised countries) should determine this, not politicians who have sold their soul to religious extremists. -
Stop trying to hijack the 'weird' adjective. We all know who the 'weird' ones are and that includes you.

Your typical nonsense again I see. Liberals (which these days you seem to think is anyone that doesn't support Trump) are not wishing to kill unborn children. Harris supports a women's right to choose and supports Roe V Wade which allows abortions up to 3 months unless either the baby is already dead (decided by medical professionals as it should be) and/or the birth will prove fatal to the mother. In other words, sensible policies. Trump usual fearmongering about Democrats wanting to "rip" babies from the womb at the "moment of birth," has been roundly condemned by fact-checkers as false? Surprise, surprise. -
