I dont know but that rule at GSB might have changed now. I was in this week and they said I could download the app on my iphone and I signed the form. The manager was out and it was late afternoon so I left it. I will go back this coming week and update this post. But it looks like farang can now have the GSB app on their phone

Referring to the attached photo, if my income is 1 mill thai baht per year is the amount of tax that I would pay be around 115,000? (sliding scale) Or is it 25% of 1,000,000? If its 115k, how can I get that down a bit?

I had this and went to an ENT dr. He prescribed a powder solution to put in water and squirt up the nose and antibiotics. When I paid for the pills at bumrungrad and collected them I was surprised about how many the dr allocated me. Pharmacist asked me if Im on other medication which I stated yes (heart pills). Turns out I could not take my pill with the one prescribed. They gave me a 5k refund. Moral to the story is that one should tell the dr to write down the pill name on paper and tell them that you will buy it elsewhere.

Its Thais who cant be assed working. We have a small business and so hard to find long stayers. New yrs is a shocker. Many stay in Issan for another month. They dont care about being permanent employee on social security. They just quit and come back part time. We are so desperate we do accept them back. Nightmare relying on thai people let me tell you.

Very true in our case. In our city its VERY difficult to find skilled workers for our business. They quit so easy and move to competition or head back to Issan whenever they want to. I have a WP but it was hard to get it. I wish we didnt have to rely on thai nationals

You should pop in and see them. When I did it took them 10min to find the requirements. For sure you will be rejected if you dont have a WP. They tried to put me off getting an account. They said the govt will scrutinise all deposits to the account. I think this bank is not farang friendly at all!

Its my understanding that theres a 1 mill baht govt guarantee on deposits in any Thai bank?? Can I assume that the 2 safest banks are the actual govt banks: GSB (govt savings bank) and the Agriculture bank? Surely it would be safe to hold more than 1 million in either of these 2? Comments...
