Story Of My Thai Citizenship Application
ubonr1971 replied to dbrenn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you are married to a thai its normal that the spouse has to sign docs to that effect in relation to the transfer at the land office. We just bought land and I had to sign as its all in my wifes name. In the future you should download google translate and click on the camera. Take a photo and you have automatic translations to English. Problem solved -
Its been a long time since I took the ferry over to koh chang with my car. I seem to remember driving that road going past the airport and there being several signs for the ferrys. Which one is the best one to take my car over to the island. Do I buy return ticket whilst on the mainland? thanks

I was in HH recently. Noticed all the Swedes a bit full of themselves. My main gripe was that they always spoke Swedish language even when I was with them and when other westerners were around. I found them to be a bit arrogant. Or is this the wrong word? Ignorant a better option? Thoughts?

Questions on View Talay 5 and 7
ubonr1971 replied to colmx's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
what about VT 6 next to the hiton? Number 1 location IMHO. Old rooms and old lifts but location is the best -
If our neighbour has already paid for concrete poles cant we just ask them to put new metre box on the pole that everyone else has one and then run new wires for our proposed house to our location using his poles? I suppose we would have to find out if they are PEA poles or his poles? As TIT I imagine he will say he paid for them and we must offer him an envelope?

Thanks for your reply about this. I would like to get the land surveyed immediately but understand there must be delays unless we offer a very large tip to get it done on monday or tuesday next week. Failing that we would lose the sale as there are many people interested in this land for sure. I have seen other buyers at the land already and worried we might lose it. If our attorney goes to the land office on monday can he check things (Klong?). What else does he check exactly? He must check if any existing finance attached on the chanote? What else? Finally, I dont exactly understand what a Klong is? thanks

We are interested in buying small land in our area but the nearest PEA meter is 135m away. On that pole there are several small meter boxes where numerous families connect to the grid. . Actually the house opposite the land we want has set up power poles and wires but it doesnt look like its PEA. The broker told me we would probably have to do our own or should I say pay for our own connection direct to the land. How much does PEA charge per metre to do this???

We are looking at cheap land at the moment. One owner is selling a small area that has 2 chanotes attached to it. We approached the owner of the land next to it which has 3 chanotes. Both seem interested in selling it. Questions: 1. If the sales all went through and in the wifes name, how easy is it to take all chanote documents to the land office and convert to just 1 chanote? If you have done this before please give your opinion and how much? 2. If we didnt bother doing the above, can we legally build a house that would sit half on one of the areas (one chanote) and half on the other area (different chanote). Is that legal to do that or not? thanks

Where would you fly to for a 1 week holiday out of Thailand mid Feb?

Does it matter if my last jab was over 6 months ago? -
I was thinking of taking a weeks holiday outside of Thailand in middle of Feb. These are my thoughts - Europe- too cold and miserable this time of year - Bali- not a bad option but been there many times - Myanmar- broken country and dangerous at the moment? - Vietnam and Cambodia. Been there done that. - Philippines- Visited a long time ago. Maybe a good option. Not too far to fly to. Plenty of action. Whats the name of that popular area a few hours from Manila? I looked at Thai airways flights and a message is displayed saying that passengers need to show a negative pcr test and show full vac certificate. But then I looked at online visa and it says only show vac certificate and no pcr test needed. - Singapore. Boring - Hong Kong. Boring - Malaysia. Been there done that. - Japan- Never visited. Interested to visit this country but so cold this time of year - China- forget about it If you have any other suggestions can you please make a comment thanks

When driving into the airport, do I follow the departures sign? And then does it say short term parking? thanks

Your posts are tedious to read at the best of times. I think you have no idea about thailand and dont live here. Its a typical thai illogical move- whats happened here. Lack of planning and investigation. Happens a lot here. Instead of being a 1 week holiday maker in Pattaya you should try living here long term.
