Not to worry. Soon all the hi-so western women will be flocking in for the yachting....per TAT's months old prediction.

So, quite a bit less than you would pay in the UK. Would you have a girlfriend in the UK as good as your Thai GF? (pick your own criteria).
Which one...the liar, the cheat, the backstabber or the thief?

This is good news for Thailand.
Better news for all Thailand's neighbors that actually WANT expat spending.

Why?
We need that rule in America along with "If you're born here you're NOT an American by birth". If you can't support them they're just welfare cases.

LOL. Loads of tourists coming from Asia that DON'T drink in barbeers, non Chinese restaurants etc.
Stay in Chinese hotels, drink in hotel bars, eat in Chinese restaurants. The rest of Pattaya doesn't get a look in.
Been going on in LOS since at least the 1970s when I did a 2 week tour with a Singaporean company.
Just because posters on TVF don't see them, it doesn't mean they ain't around. Take a trip to Larn and see how many are eating in the sea food restaurants.

Yep, then watch them all go take a 3 minute "swim" to take a piss.

Since when is getting on a packed ferry to Ko Larn "yachting"? Oh, being beat to death in a speed boat made of plywood going to Ko Larn must be " yachting". Then you can swim in the "crystal blue water" with 5000 other people of which half, or more, just walked out to take a piss. ROTFLMFAO!

Different sources are coming up with different prognostications. I don't even think a Thai fortune teller would be able to say what will happen tomorrow.
An excessive increase will almost certainly affect what remains of the Western tourist industry.
Retired expats are leaving in droves looking for better places, which do exist. In 2015 LOS was listed as #18. They're going downhill from there. Thailand is well on it's way to authoritarian rule as corruption is a way of life and the ability of a foreigner to trust anything in their "new home" erodes to zero. A new stab-in-the-back tax will fill the airport for a long time, no short time.

I would like to know more. Did the pickup have rear lights working? Did the deceased have brakes in good working order? Was either party tested for drink and drugs?
They are both guilty of driving in Thailand.

IMHO I am tempted to say that the heigh of the railings cater the Thai anatomy and height, and are maybe not adapted to western anatomy and taller builds as much for men as for western females.
Yes, you are correct. We actually have to pick up those short people and throw tem over the rail.

Wherever they were going it is amazing that they couldn't see a parked bus! Why were there 3 persons on the bike? I see no evidence of helmets. Karma!
The dark sunglasses and lack of headlight may have been an issue.

Thailand needs to find a way to improve the system so that impulsive and violent little shits are taken out of the system before they can get their hands on weapons.
This IS the way! This little turd will never get his gang bang mentality on a weapon. Darwinism works.

It's quick and easy to tear things apart "on schedule". Putting them back together always seems to be the problem.

Secret can't be kept long in Thailand. We are going to know what happened very rapidly. Thai people can't keep their mouths shut.
Yeah, but they love to lie about everything to embellish OR save face which means that for every situation you'll get a differed story from everyone involved.

Not an easy thing to measure, but looking at averages of test results prior to 2000 and post 2000, it appears there has been some improvement, certainly there is not evidence to suggest that IQ's are lowering in Thailand and it remains well within the top 20 most intelligent countries in the world, despite what some expats might have you believe.

Oh, so this is BS...https://www.worlddata.info/iq-by-country.php? It is a compilation of nine studies.

You can live without booze and cheap women??? Oh, dear! Please post the recipe in this forum. It´s gonna be vital and extremely important to hundreds of members.
Didn't mean I could live without booze and cheap women. But other places have that and MORE to offer. Like...swimming in an ocean that isn't also the sewer, for one, and I could go on but it appears your ONLY interest in life IS booze and cheap women.

So am I the only expat that ran when I realized the general (pun) population choked when they voted for military rule? On the road to living like the North Koreans when the tourists quit coming.

Checking papers and asking where they are going. Freedom isnt really one of Prayuths likes. The military shouldnt be oppressing citizens like this, its archaic and barbaric and no place in modern society.
Ah, there lies your problem. You have a misunderstanding of the word "modern".

So a disciplinary committee has been set up to probe into a man's groping. Thais love a committee meeting along with a free seafood buffet lunch.
I predict the outcome. She was being provocative and he yielded to her temptations. His job restored and she lives in shame.
As it should be.

This is only about price, not quality of beer or quality of chairs/tables/scenery/beergirls.
Chang beer....headache in a bottle, next morning squirt in the john. Made from rice. Ain't that nice? Singha? Not even as good as America's cheapest beers. Just more alcohol....for the vacationing alcoholics.

All western countries have defamation/libel laws, including the UK where the BBC adhere to the letter, but they come to Thailand and think they are above the law.
JH is a professional Thai basher... So som nom na!
"Professional"? You don't have to go far to find problems that should be published in Thailand. Like....Why do they let tourists swim in the water in Pattaya & Jomtien when they KNOW it's pumped full of raw sewage EVERY night? Yeah, some "resort".

A whole lot of people seem to get marriage extensions (not visas) without any problem. If you're facing difficulty getting a one year extension, why would you assume getting a visa or extension for a longer period would be problem free?
I have no plans to apply for this visa, but why would you assume that many retirees have less of a connection to Thailand than you do. Many retirees are married to Thais and have children here.
I have an eighteen year connection to Thailand and get retirement extensions every year. Why is someone who chose to get married so much more "connected" to Thailand?
Because eventually you'll be giving it all to Thailand and be left with nothing.
Thais in rant-a-thon: Who needs a farang husband anyway? Besides all they like is the black ones

Honestly, I spent enough time there to know that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES would I ever marry a Thai, even in my home country. They simply are not to be trusted.
