However if you have personally known 3 people that have had their unfortunate deaths spun into some sensational fictional BS, spread all over social media and then UK press, with no regard for the grieving families, originating from 2 total <deleted> in order to push sale of a book, you can become somewhat defensive, especially when reading comments from clueless people here.

    Very out of touch commemt, its one of the cheapest places to learn to dive an get an open water cert, its on the 'to do' list of most backpackers, the vast majority from UK, Ireland etc are heading Australia direction. Not the Caribbean or US.

    No, the deaths that have happened are not suspicious, they have been spun into sensationalised BS by 2 people with links to UK media, they have got 3rd or 4th hand drips of information and proceeded to invent a load of nonsense, purposely lie and omitt facts from their stories to get sensationalised headlines running online.

    The girl was killed in a tragic road accident in the beginning of Jan she was with her boyfriend on a scooter at the time, I thought he survived. Perhaps he died of injuries since, unless this is a separate diving accident Very sad regardless.
