  1. I would say cheaper,I see the Korean have a lot of bars here in Angeles city so I imagine the prices are not cheap, I didn't participate so can't say but I heard its around 5000 pesos
  2. And be advised to get a gun. I went to the boon as you call it, to visit my girls parents, all have guns
  3. Its all shopping malls and American fast food. As for Angeles City I'm here now seems to be a lot of Korean writing everywhere ,no footpaths, western prices , beeep beep traffic , I want to go back to Thailand this week I'm getting out ,as for the girls I looked at last night I think they must of opened up the senior citizens homes and bussed them into the go go bar job, couldn't help to stare at one bar where I'm sure no go go girl was under 40 ! They all seem to be old women working They have no prices for drinks advertised so I wasn't going to go in and pay like 500 pesos for a glass of cica cola
  4. Its made me appreciate Thailand. Anyone anyone here who complains about that Thailand I will pay your ticket here to Manila and drop you off at the airport and you can deal with the taxi touts demanding triple the prices to your hotel. You would not last a week here in Manila or Cebu you were be bored out if your mind not to mention dealing with agressive beggars I have no idea with farangs who write about fascination with Cebu It's no beach paradise ,it's a rubbish strewn city with modern shopping malls and not pedestrian friendly, what can you do there all day? Sit at a shopping mall
  5. I'm in Angeles City and ready to leave now it's bloody boring, one street not even big with about 12 go Go bars with full of girls all seem to be over 30 even in their 40's working. ,there is a lot of farangs here but they look different from our Thailand farangs These are weird looking types I walked the walking street here last night it's full of Korean go Go bars and it's a small street compared to Thailand. Traffic everywhere beeping horns , Beep beep beep as you have to run and dodge traffic, beep beep beep Then small kids trying to pick your pockets then getting tattooed Filipinos trying to push past you Please please let me leave
  6. My search began last year for a retirement destination. Pattaya was my number 1 choice. I met a Filipino girl in my home country and we decided to visit the Philippines. I have been here 1 month and the place is a Sh***hole Extremely crowded , full of shopping malls, extreme traffic,no footpaths . I think Cebu was the worst, no beaches ,no footpaths, crazy traffic, experience compared to Thailand, how could I live there ? Hotels here are expensive compared to Bangkok, you looking at nearly double ,rubbish strewn all over streets Small kids grabbing your pockets as your walking, hardly a paradise No footpaths ,you have to dodge traffic everytime As for Manila the SkyTrain you can't even fit on that and when you do they look at you angry ,young tattooed males angry at something Compared to Thailand this place is expensive, small roll on deoderants at 80 pesos, things look more expensive than 711 Thailan Please release me back to Thailand,I promised I will never say anything bad about the land of smiles again after being in this place !
  7. I guess not everyone can afford to tip though, some people save a year to o go on a holiday ,they might work in a factory in the UK or Australia working Monday to Friday on basic wages so they can't afford to tip everyone
  8. Costs 1200 including today ,Mike's taxi service
  9. Guys I just traveling today on a plane to another Asian country won't say where just yet until I check it out And lo & behold right in the middle seat next to me was a fat young Filipino guy ,kept saying excuse me to me ,he is the one overloaded into my seat but he seemed aggressive type so I held back saying anything to him, but this was economy and 3 seats per row and there was some fatties in there !! And I don't mean chubby, one guy they had to move ,I felt sorry for him though he was very obese
  10. I have a nephew in his early 20's currently travelling Asia and I was chatting to him in this WhatsApp telling I got breakfast in Pattaya for 99 baht etc. He asked for pics of the breakfast? Now I see his Instagram he has pics and videos of everything in regards his holiday and posts on this Facebook Instagram etc. Now I must be old because it doesn't occur to me to take pics of my meals, my transport, my daily life in holiday,ok I might take pics of a tourist thing but I don't pics like these younger generation of everything , meals out, selfies of standing on a rock ledge or whatever, it's weird ? He even has videos on Facebook and his friends all same age group travel on a bus in Phuket etc, Now I have to ask,am I too old and think this is immature?,or do you are your age take selfies, do you picture your restaurant cafe meals, do you take pics of your transport etc ? Ok I know these young people probably do this because they post on this Facebook Now strange thing is , himself and his friends teenage s 18/19 start doing tik tok dancing in front of girlie bars in Phuket and no one said anything in fact the girls joined in,years ago they would of got told to leave in no uncertain terms !!!! But now it seems normal to this young generation who must video everything Its crazy because I think it's our gen (over 50) who are scared of cameras in places like Phuket Pattaya , I remember once about 10 years go talking on a video phone in touch m and farang my age was sitting at the back of me complain he could be seen. Nowadays many would tell him he is not caught up with life
  11. I guess so but your responsibility is to fit in that seat
  12. I hope my post doesn't come across as being humiliating to obese people because that's not my intention. I'm mainly just trying to find out the "average" bigger person perspective on how they manage economy, especially on some of these Asian carriers where the seats are 16.5 I think. As for premium economy ,not every flight has that class . I guess you can always buy 2 seats ,it can sometimes work out cheaper than business , sometimes.
  13. Guys I will just get to the point here . If your a larger type bloke, I don't mean morbidity obese ,but maybe tall or big shoulders or even big belly ,how on earth do you manage to travel in economy class airfares ? Don't you feel embarrassed walking into the plane knowing you will provide discomfort for someone next to you ? I'm going to be honest here, I pay more to fly business class ,I don't want to but I have to. I'm not obese but I'm big build ,so rather than discomfort others I pay more I often wonder when I see obese big belly farangs in Pattaya how they can travel in economy? Can you all advise how you do it? Your not embarrassed?
  14. Hi guys Just a quick question I need luggage storage, somewhere in Pattaya , preferably near jomtien to store a suitcase Thanks guys
  15. Sure, but it beats my why and I'm saying in his case ,but why spend money on bars, tipping , etc and then get the bus to the airport, going thru all that trouble in the heat. Can some of you guys enlighten me? As for the route the taxi took to me 3 hours ,can you guys advise what route he took so I don't need to go thru a slow painful 3 hours and I can assure you he definitely didn't get a tip!
  16. About 3 years ago I remember ordering a taxi from jomtien to patpong Bangkok, the driver took forever to get there, left at around 1130am and arrived about 230pm It was a long ride ,I don't want to repeat that considering I got to Pattaya in a hour Is there 2 ways to Bangkok? On another note I can't fathom why farangs get the bus from jomtien to airport just to save a 1000 b? I spokr to a guy yesterday, no baht buses coming along so he is telling me he is going to bus station to go to airport, anyway waiting like 10 mins some didn't stop some overflowing so he started walking sweating walking up the hill going towards the bus station from the jomtien complex wheeling his luggage carrying his carry bag , looking back continually trying to get a baht bus to go to the bus station..so he will pay 10b for the baht bus ( if he got one yesterday afternoon they were non existent) then another 140 b for the bus ! Wouldn't it be easier just to pay the extra 1000 b for a air conditioning car to the airport? I mean some of these guys tip in bars frivolous but won't spend a extra money on getting to the airport comfortable
  17. Sorry to push the question guys, but is there any clinics in jomtien area? They must issue this fit to fly certificate though, I can't just get any clinic , I need the antigen one but issue a certificate to fly
  18. Thanks so much ...I should tip you Sir
  19. I want to fly to Phillipines soon, unfortunately I need a Antigen test 24 hours before flight . I have googled and Bangkok Pattaya hospital comes up but want 3500b Compared to Bangkok skin clinic at 1500b but that's in Bangkok. Anyone know any smaller clinics who don't advertise that do fit to fly antigen certificate in Pattaya ?
  20. No never been ,but they tell me the service is fantastic there .
  21. And be kind to your mother . But.. talking about buying low..I just bought shares on the ASX at low price,it was flight Centre travel shares , they went even lower ! But do expats living in tourist areas actually tip everyday for every service ?
  22. True , I was a fool !!! Absolutely! And I soon learnt in those 5 days why ? Why I need to tip ? But....... Look, if the service was great ,eg the waitress went out of their way for you ,or the taxi driver waited a long time for you or you are maybe going back to the same place everyday then yes tip,but doesn't have to be a lot because I soon found out if you tip a lot they don't remember. And....don't be like my mate and tip everyone ! Ridiculous because he feels guilty As for regular places 20 b is sufficient, yes absolutely I was a fool the last 5 days,I doubt expats in Pattaya Phuket etc tip everyday anyway I thinks it's tourists that tip, I can't see expats especially pensioners tipping everyday !
  23. Of course I'm sure it's different in non tourist areas
  24. The last few days being new in town for my holiday I have stupidity tipped, worked out last few days around 5k. For what? No thanks, some just look at the tip and walk off ,couldn't even acknowledge it,so Fk it no more ! Tipped the taxi to Pattaya a few hundred baht he took it ignored me and kept talking on his phone waste of 200b never see him again. Tipped the waitress 20b she looked at me in disgust, oh I'm sorry should I tip you more I should of asked for bringing a plate out ? Picked up my laundry,a ladyboy serving me 190b gave her 200 b keep the change, started screeching !! A massage woman half way through the massage ,how much you tip me she says ? For Fcks sake I said you ain't even finished the massage Starts telling me she has rent to pay ,100 kids 7 dogs etc etc, I ignored her Gave her 100 baht tip she wasn't happy no thanks So you know what yesterday I went to different places, cafes , used taxis, bars, and didn't tip once ,not once AND they thanked me ,I actually got a wai as I sat there and waited for my change ! Now I have a mate here in Pattaya who tips everyone because, Yeo,he feels compelled, tipped the girls at Subway last Monday when I went with him and you know what they didn't even give a rat's ass about him,no thanks nothing Wasted 50 b he could of spent that on some thing else ! You know the ones who don't tip get better respect, the Russians the Indians etc Today I will do the same no tip Of course if your going back to the same place everyday I guess better to tip say 10b or 20 b but no need to go overboard just because you feel compelled. People tip because they feel guilty Yesterday I got a Grab from Pattaya to jomtien 105b , the driver telling me how he came a long way to pick me up etc,he didn't actually I only waited 3 minutes, when I got to jomtien gave him 120; tried to make me feel guilty ,that's why deep down you guys feel guilty and compelled we must tip, Several reasons for tipping 1. You are with mates are a bar ,you feel compelled to tip in front of them. 2. You feel guilty U must leave something even they ignored you on arrival whether that be a bar or cafe or whatever but you feel compelled to do it 3. They ask you beforehand or half way through a service eg massage or waitress ,how much U tip me ? So U feel compelled you must tell them you will tip them even if they <deleted> on you 4. They make you feel guilty eg they have had a slow day ,no money etc Why should you have to tip the owner of a laundry when you pick up your clothes ,no tip? The transexual asks, no tip? No tip for me ? <deleted> you already overpriced my laundry now you want a tip? Keep the change I said 10b,then she started screeching like a ......? Oh I'm sorry I should of said, here's 100 baht us that sufficient for you even though you look more wealthy than me,would you like me to kiss your ass too ?
