  1. Hope this helps,

    From the "US Embassy ACS" Website;

    Fingerprint Cards

    "The U.S. Embassy is able to provide fingerprint cards (Form SF-87) at no charge. No appointment is necessary to pick up the cards from the U.S. Embassy security entrance on the Visa/American Citizen Services side during normal business hours. Alternately, you may download and print FBI fingerprint form FD-258 (http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks/fd-258-1).

    The U.S. Embassy cannot perform the fingerprinting process. Take the fingerprint card to the Thai Police Clearance Service center for inking.

    For information on how to obtain a Thai police clearance certificate, visit the Police Clearance Service Center website (http://www.pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eng/). A map to the Police Clearance Service Center is available here.

    If you have additional questions, please send an email to American Citizen Services at [email protected]."

  2. Mac,

    I think the 2 Weeks is Max. I got my notification email that my PP was ready to pick up approx. 8-10 days after submission, IIRC. Cant remember exact dates!

    But I chose to pick up in person, so do not know how long EMS will take for you?

    Approximately when did that happen (8 to 10 days)?

    6th July is when I got notified by email. But I didn't go in to pick up until much later.

    PS: Had to go back thru email trash to confirm date.

  3. I am sure allot of the American Expats (or any current / former USG employee, contractors, etc.) in Thailand will be affected by this breach.

    Most have likely seen this in the news; however, there are some important points to be aware of;

    1) Not all affected individuals will be notified by OPM or DHS.

    2) Monitor your credit and financial accounts. Anyone can put a credit freeze / fraud alert for free. Contact each of the nationwide credit reporting companies:

    Equifax1-800-349-9960 FREE

    Experian — 1‑888‑397‑3742

    TransUnion1-888-909-8872 FREE

    3) Be aware and alert of any unusual online activity, email, etc. for unsolicited requests asking for (PII) personally identifiable information, IE fishing for resumes, social sec number, address, siblings, etc, etc.

    "Employees should take steps to monitor their personally identifiable information and report any suspected instances of identity theft to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center. (external link)"

    3) Report any of the above as appropriate to your individual circumstances. See links below for more info.

    Most of this should be standard practice anyway!
