Not for me.
50/50 UK and Thailand.
I have a house in the UK, never talk to neighbours, go to the pub twice a week (cannot afford £6/pint every day).
Benefits: beautiful countryside and clean air.
In Thailand, I have an apartment with pool, I pay one years rent. Every day I sit with my bar girl neighbours, chatting and them feeding me up, yes, feeding. Downstairs is a bar with old ex pats, a few ex bar owners who've lived in Pattaya over 30 years. Sometimes go to Ban Amphur beach where I rig a hammock and enjoy the weather, often go to Soi Buakhao for a Chang Yai..
Best of both worlds.
