Travel insurance warning after Welshman's motorbike crash
Alidiver replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Only third party insurance is required. Not many uk travel insurers cover motorcycles, in fact several specifically exclude them. Nationwide includes up to 125cc so long as you have a license, wear a crash helmet and not drunk. -
Before 5pm close windows and spray room with Baygone or similar, then go for a walk. Use mosquito repellant and if sitting outside use a smouldering coil..wash hands after touching.

90 day visa (from U.K.).
Alidiver replied to welshguy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I applied for a ME Tourist Visa and received a ME O visa. The process is straightforward enough if you are organised and have a scanner/printer. Most of the uploads are self explanatory but a couple of points are confusing; 1 You're only allowed one page to upload six months bank statements so you need to compress the documents, also the bank statement needs to show your address and be stamped by your branch 2 They ask for your ID card. I used my Driving License As a precaution I also emailed the Thai Embassy referencing my application with attachments of my bank statements. -
When does TM30 reset?
Alidiver replied to Kalorymetr's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Mine reset when I left the country but that was when we had TM6 on the TM30 form. -
April 2020 I poured bleach down the drains, put moth balls in wardrobe, thoroughly cleaned cooking utensils then stored in sealed boxes, and sprayed around doors with an oily bug spray. After that, padlocked my door and flew back to Blighty. I am returning later this month and wondered if anyone had done the same and what state their room was on their return. Has all the clothing and bedding disintegrated? Is the room infested with bugs? Does the room stink?

Going to Jomtien, the journey was broken at Pattaya Tai but return journeys always went straight up second road. Always 10 Baht. Generally 20 Baht if you go beyond Terminal 21. Another 20 Baht ride is if you use the White Baht Bus down Suhkumvit Road to Bang Amphur. Amazing Value, I'm inclined to pay a little extra.

I have stayed in a temple. You better find one that has hotel facilities. Golden Buddha Pattaya, I had to get up 03:00 to put out prayer books, pray at 04:00, clean temple, breakfast then free time to meditate, lunch at 12:00 which was the last meal of the day, more prayers and more cleaning in the afternoon, bed at 19:00. Oh, and slept on the floor with no air con or western toilets. Loved it but was only for a short stay.

Four month in Thailand this winter
Alidiver replied to Alidiver's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Really? that's contrary to everything on the RTE London website. Was it London? Was it recent? If so, that's my answer. -

For visa you require booking for the duration of your stay. -
I think the confusion is the Bell own Roong Reuang. It looks like Jomtien to Suvarnabhumi is running but you need to book at the bus station. https://airportpattayabus.com/

Thailand’s dangerous road status confirmed – again!

Stop and help? How long have you lived in Thailand? You should know that foreigners must not get involved. Call and ambulance and you get liable for the ambulance and hospital bills. -
For the UK knockers. UK has it's problems, it's called democracy. I hope all of you have good health insurance or have a UK address of convenience. I can ride my motorbike in the UK without playing Russian roulette. The op was praising "Amazing Thailand" because he was expecting a day of waiting and administration. You pay your money and take your choice. 50% UK, 50% Thailand is my choice.
