24 Hour lockdown is a ridiculous proposition.
They are idiots to consider it.
What about getting food and medicines?
This is a typical overreaction to their inability to enforce the simple social distancing and existing curfew.
As usual, the draconian threat of 2 years in jail for curfew breakers just makes them look as ridiculous as they really, really are!

Even if Thailand tries to reopen the tourism, the airlines have cancelled their
international routes, and will not be starting up very quickly. It may be China
and India that go back for their vacations, but I believe they have also
cancelled their airlines. People are still trying to get back to their home
countries and are still stranded abroad. Good luck to all who are living or are
stranded in Thailand.
Geezer
My home and family are in Thailand, where my wife and daughters stay, while I live and work in Myanmar. I came home for a visa run (Myanmar visa, not Thai) but am now stuck here as well!
Unable to return means unable to work. Kinda screwed.

also how many people that die are being tested
Not trying to be funny, but Thailand's woeful management culd be summed up in the cse of someone dying of undiagnosed Covid, driving to hospital for treatment, crashing, being picked up at the scene and dyig in the hospital later.
Neither the Covid nor road death would be recorded as such!
Amazing Thailand.

I wonder if this alcohol ban also includes hand sanitiser, not that there's any available anyway?
A house in our village was raided by scores of RTP yesterday. The house owner was hoarding 10,000 litres of 99.9% alchohol gel, ready to cash in!
Insane.
They had the barrels in plain view at the front of the house so the neighbours informed RTP.
That could have made a pretty bonfire!

What is the definition of the hackneyed phrase 'heavily armed' Do they have howitzers on their backs?
Well now, for one certain general, it refers to the 20 or so fancy watches being worn on each wrist!

I was planning to drive (in our car) with my family to our place outside Lampang tomorrow. Just wife and two daughters in the car and then self-isolate in our house once we get there.
Will this still be possible?
We have been monitoring our temperatures twice a day now for over a week and are as confident as we can be that we are virus free at the mooment.
Should we go?

"the aim of the move was to re-establish people’s confidence in the government"
How do you re-establish something that has never existed in the first place?
The space cadet silly little general lives in a world of his own!

You have made a false statement when you said that no spray is going to help. 99.9% alcohol spray will kill any virus or germs on your hands and it is easier to carry than your cake of soap and your sink and water to wash your hands
I totally agree!
I am spraying the inside of me with 43% alcohol as I type, so no worries!

On the other hand, maybe some have issues comprehending what asymptomatic transmission entails and the varying medical estimates relating to Covid-19 incubation and related quarantine that have been universally ballparked at 14-days for the best part of two months already. That and the fact they regardless of what any country has done up until now, this will keep spreading.
But yes, this is a Thai forum so I can see why those here that are either scared or have no viable backup plan tend to lash out at what they see as local incompetence.
Local competence seems to be even harder to find than new cases of Covid-19 in Thailand!

Who cares?
This guy is a joke on the world stage (for those few who have even heard of him) and he lacks any credibility whatsoever.
He is simply another unintelligent, emotionally immature, under-qualified mouthpiece for this joke of a government.
Simply another bootlicker for the silly little general.

Playbook tactic #1 If it is bad, try and drag the USA into it. However ..
In 2016 Thailand's rate of violent gun-related deaths stood at 4.45 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. In comparison, that of the Philippines was 7.42; the US, 3.85; Cambodia, 0.96; Myanmar, 0.56; Malaysia, 0.46; Indonesia, 0.10; and Singapore, 0.03.
Coconuts had this story on TV a couple years back back
NPR ran the data from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation after the recent mass shootings in California, and found Thailand had 7.48 violent gun deaths per 100,000 people in 2013. That’s over twice the gun death rate in the US, which had 3.55 deaths per 100,000 people in the same year. Thailand also has the highest gun death rate in Asia, the data shows. It had 50% more deaths than the Philippines, which also beat the US gun death rate with 4.64 deaths per 100,000 people.
Maybe they should not have included ... but the USA is worse
You are assuming that Thais either understand or care about ratios. It is way over their heads!

Without stiff penalties it will change nothing, all of these so called captains should be made to complete a professional boat handling course, pass a certified test then receive an appropriate licence which can be taken away if they fall foul of rules or regulations - What am I saying, this is Thailand where rules and regulations mean nothing........LOL
make comprehensive, passenger covering, insurance madatory and make that insurance cover contingent on the skippers having an internationally recognised qualification for handling these baots.

Agreed WG. With that level of intelligence, they'd probably have set the intended victime back with the ransom note!

This is the Thai equivalent of allowing the Chinese to sell tainted meat from an infected abbattoir, whilst refusing to sell canned meat from a period prior to the abbattoir's infection!
Thai logic at its best!

Officials delay check on ‘worryingly thin’ tiger as Phuket Zoo files to officially close
in Phuket News
Posted
This is typical of the complete shyster <deleted> that occupy this <deleted>hole and prey on toursts!
"came across a zoo staff member who told them… “If you want to give the tiger food, give money, about 7,000 baht and that will buy 50 pieces of chicken – that would feed one tiger for one day.”"
7,000 Baht per day to feed one tiger? Yeah, right! I am sure that the idiot of a owner used to spend that much per day on a single tiger! They obviously think we just fell out of the trees like they have!
According to this <deleted>, a piece of chicken costs 120 Baht and the tiger needs 50 of them a day? Maybe he meant Ostrich!
I am so sick of these complete low lifes and take no small pleasure in the fact that their badly abused gravy train has derailed, at least for a while!
I personally would quite like to see the owner and so-called zoo-keeprs being fed to the tiger!
