"West Struggles for a Response" No more so when Ukraine responded to Russian attack. No more so when the US was attacked at Pearl Harbor by Japan in WW2. The Western countries are not authoritarian governments and require support of free and independent citizens in its responses. Responses cannot be instaneous, unlike the Russian contrived attacks directed by essentially a dictator.

Thai Cabinet Approves WAI Gesture as the Country's National Identity
Srikcir replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In foreigner visa meeting with Thai authorities, who wai's who? Traffic stop? Cashier to customer? Cabinet approval of the wai does not have backing of law. It's like former PM Prayut insisting that Thai dress code should follow traditional Thai clothing. You know, where historically women were half-clothed. As the Thai economy continues to crash and PM faces expulsion, one would think the Cabinet had better priorities. -
The irony on Lake's lawsuit is that all five seats on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors were Republicans. As is true in most of the other swing states' where Republicans have claimed election fraud. But somehow these lawsuits filed in swing states blame Democracts for election fraud. Prior to the 2022 election the Arizona State Attorney General and Governor were Republicans. But somehow despite Republican state government control, Democrats were able to manipulate state election outcomes.

The Election Commission has "Plan B," says Commissioner Thitichet
Srikcir replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
My Plan B would be 100% public voting by provence in what would be called an election, not a selection. This would be an extension of the 2007 Constitution that provided for 50% election. -
Thailand Welcomes UN Resolution for Gaza Ceasefire
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As a result of this resolution I look forward to a UN Peacekeeping force to occupy Gaza to assure its neutrality during further international peace deliberations. That should be something Thailand can support having experience in past peacekeeping deployments and its neutrality recognized by the Middle East nations and nations having political interests in the region such as Russia and China. -
What is better and more accurate than any poll and represents all Thais regardless of position and income is a VOTE in Parliament by the People's 250 representatives. That’s called Representative Democracy. Going a step even further, hold a national referendum that allows Direct Representation such as used in Switzerland.

Brexit- the pain that keeps on giving. May 24, 2567 BE — UK GDP in Q1 2024 was 1.7% above its pre-pandemic level of Q4 2019. This compares with Eurozone GDP being 3.4% higher. https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk Research by the Centre for European Reform suggests the UK economy is 2.5% smaller than it would have been if Remain had won the referendum. Public finances fell by £26 billion a year. This amounts to £500 million a week and is growing. https://en.wikipedia.org

Monetary Policy Committee maintains policy rate at 2.50%
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Likely the same member who has voted for a rate cut in the last four MPC meetings. The MPC seems to be the only agency that displays unintimidated consistency to economic policies. Unfortunately the Thavisin government has not. -
How to avoid an unwanted ladyboy encounter?
Srikcir replied to Alpha84's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Rather than wonder the streets for a female connection, you might try (even ahead of your trip) some Thai dating sites such as thaifriendly.com Maybe some OP's can comment. -

Mixed Reactions to Thailand's Proposed Casino Complexes
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Your son works for one of the licensed casinos that are allowed only on Indian reservations in Washington State? There are 35 Indian casinos in the state that are providing living wage jobs, opportunities for advancement and careers that benefit themselves, family and reservation community. https://www.washingtonindiangaming.org Generally, tribal casinos in the US are free from US taxes. As such proceeds used for roads and schools apply to only tribal reservation properties. And you would not see those funds going to off-reservation nontribal developments. No State can otherwise plan use for such gambling proceeds for its own purposes. -

Rudy Giuliani's Mug Shot Released in Arizona 'Fake Electors' Case
Srikcir replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Wealthy corporate donors don't need the younger generation. They "invest" in the older corrupt congressional leadership (aka "dinosaurs") that are largely beyond the reach of the younger generation. And it is the same corrupt congressional leadership both Republican and Democrat that minimizes the freedom and influence of the younger generation to prevent progressive changes. -
Thaksin Requests Attorney-General to Review Lèse Majesté Charge
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Eligibility for Thaksin's parole was triggered by a 2023 Royal Pardon. But the AG appears in effect with his 2024 LM charge to place limits on how and when the Pardon is relevant? That would seem to be contrary in a constitutional monarchy form of government. -

7-Eleven restroom use in Thailand depends on branch discretion
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Seriously? In the US it's called a water closet or bathroom. A small lockable enclosed vented area for a toilet, sink, mirror and some toilet supplies. Nothing like the outdoor open air urinals you see at Thai gas stations. -

Eight Companies Compete to Bid for Decade-old Rice
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The military junta took over in 2014 overthrowing the Yingluck regime. It continued to support the storage of this rice until junta chief and PM Gen. Prayut vacated the government in 2023. Likely, the rice storage (paid by the junta government) was maintained as evidence by Prayut in its original quality to prosecute Yingluck. But she fled prosecution and Prayut did not win the PM in the 2023 election. So there appears now there was more reason to continue expensive storage. -

Eight Companies Compete to Bid for Decade-old Rice

Initially yes, but with more positive testing for quality, more offers may have come in, proving rice viability as human or animal food. -

Where a 7/11 offers indide eating areas with food and drink purchased from the store, it should provide bathroom access. There is a small two story 7/11 next to Bumrungrad Hospital that sells food and drinks on first floor with signs pointing to onsite toilet on the second floor that also has an eating area.
