Need to get a Thai passport certified
JohnOFphon replied to JohnOFphon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Both great answers. Thanks guys. One question is if I take my wife's passport to Citizens service does she have to go too? Or can I just take it to get certified by myself? -
I am applying for a ITIN for my Thai wife. I need to have it to put her name on my tax return. The fw7 IRS form says " the agency that issued or maintains the original record must certify it..Thai passport. No notarized copies allowed. We live in Bangkok near Klong Toey. Wife was told to go to Central World Mall...6th floor...some kind of government office there. But when she calls no one can give her an answer. Since she works during the hours they are open she doesn't want to ask for time off unless she/I know she can get what we want in one stop. So anyone have experience with get a Thai passport notarized in BKK?

I can tell you from experience that if you take any money out of the 800K before the allowed to date..They (CW) will not give you an extension. You, as I have to.. must exit and start over again. Follow the good Dr's advice above. No prescription needed. 😆 Ever notice that the TM 87 and 86 are exactly the same except for the number in the upper right corner...tit

Change from Visa Exempt to Non-O
JohnOFphon replied to Moti24's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I applied to change from Visa Exempt to Non O retirement a year ago. No problem except I remember them giving me a receipt.....Under consideration....(blue paper) and telling me to come back for the stamp. I can't remember how long it was before I could go back. 5 days? 7 days? Anyone know? Also, this time I am doing a visa exempt to Non O marriage. I know wife must go on the first visit, but can I go alone to get the extension stamped to 90 days? Can't think of any reason she should have to go....but TIT When we extend to one year, I know we both must go for that...CW...window L. -
I came in on a 60 day tourist visa. I want to make an online appointment to extend this tourist visa to a Non O marriage visa..first 90 days , then later to one year. I have all of the documents ready, but I don't know which box to tick. One says.... (Tourist Visa TR Extension) Window J....only allows me to go as a single?? and another options is: (Extension Visa For Thai Wife) window L1, which allows me to choose a couple, or Family, to sit with the IO. Last time I did a change from Tourist to Non O...I did it for retirement...and went to window C....the one next to 90 day reporting. I don't want to go without an appointment....that's a nightmare.!!! Thanks

Low cost way to have a USA phone number
JohnOFphon replied to JohnOFphon's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
The Esim option from Tello looks good...except my new phone, I bought last week, won't except Esim....bummer. gonna do so thinking bout that. -
5 or 6 times a year, my bank and or credit card sent me a OTP..for issues with my accounts. They will not send emails with a code. Now I have a friend in the states phone number listed as my contact number. When there is a need for a code to be sent, I must call him before I click "send a code". Once the code is received, I enter it , and all is well... I am going back for a visit next week, and if necessary I can buy a cell phone while there. But how can I get the phone to work here? Receive a message the same as if I were using my friends phone? Of course the cheapest option that works is of interest. Thanks

Soi Seven Beer Bar - where now?
JohnOFphon replied to StreetCowboy's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
On Soi 7...Sukumvit BKK..a group of bars on the left as you walk in from the main road. Turn left just past the first bar...walk a bit and look on the left for 69 bar....yes, that's the name. Run by Nookie...a good friend of mine for over 7 years. If you don't want to be bother by the girls working there, just tell her. Like someone posted earlier...every bar is playing loud music, and that is annoying...but WT heck. -
Ok guys. My question is about the 90 day report..but different from the OPs My 90 day is due 16th of this month. Oct. It has to be done in person because it's the first after a trip out and back. Now, I plan on flying out on the 30th or 31st. 15 days late. Will I be stopped and fined at the airport??? If so, I will have to make the long trip to CW.. I hate that place.

An AK-47 isn't accurate at 400 yards. Should have chosen a more accurate weapon. Aim for center mass.
