  1. I don't think that's quite true when you say 'nobody has range anxiety any more'. My spouse and I certainly still do. That is why we are going with a PHEV rather than an all-electric car as our next car. We feel we are not ready for all-electric just yet. PHEV should suit us. We can drive around town on just the electric, without using gas at all, and recharge at night. When we take trips, we don't have to worry about running out of battery or not being able to find a charging station. If for some reason we can't recharge, we have the gas backup.
  2. From what I can tell if I searched right: South Korea, Honduras, Taiwan, Brazil, Mexico, Iceland, Malaysia, Panama, Virgin Islands, Nicaragua, Bosnia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Philippines, Congo, and others. Dozens of countries, such as Finland, Brazil, France, Russia, Austria, and Portugal, use popular vote but a candidate must win at least 50% of the vote in the first round. If not, a second round is needed, with usually the top two vote-getters facing off.
  3. Mazda CX-8 might fit your needs--we sat in one and were impressed by how nice it was inside. Spouse and I just booked a new BYD Sealion 6 SUV, a plug-in hybrid, which we were looking for. Beautiful car, comfortable, and very nicely-equipped for a very reasonable price, less than 1MB. But, Chinese and maybe a bit small for your needs. We wanted to buy another CR-V but were underwhelmed by it's supposedly 'new' but, in our opinion, very dated styling--should have been the 2020 model, not 2024. And, no PHEV. Plus, very pricey for the top model. Good luck with your search.
  4. No, I was having some fun. He does have a new book coming out, The Art of the Steal, which details his illegal attempts to steal the 2020 election. Should make a wonderful Christmas stocking-stuffer for those Trumpets who have mastered reading.
  5. Did you fail to note that Trump is not just any old grifter but has attained, through his long grifting career, the status of grifter 'of the highest order'. That should bring some joy to Trumpets. He's the worst presidet in US history but stands proudly at the top of Grifterland.
  6. Yes, indeed. Trumpets, on the other hand, seem like they are not getting much enjoyment supporting the convicted rapist, felon, serial liar, and grifter of the highest order.
  7. So true. If he hadn't been born with a siver spoon up his derriere, he likely would have had a less than stellar career at McDonald's, ultimately working his way up to, perhaps, assistant manager. After retirement, a nice segue to door greeter at Wal-Mart.
  8. Don't I wish 'the American voters will decide'. The 'American voters' decided for Clinton in 2016, to the tune of 2.8 million more votes, not 'very tight' at all. A blowout. The EC, unfortunately for the country, 'decided' that election and we ended up with the worst presidency in US history. Almost happened again in 2020, when the blowout was 7 million votes more in favor of Biden. Again, not 'very tight' at all with the actual voters. If you want an actual 'tight' race, try Bush-Gore, with a less than 600,000 vote difference, in favor of Gore. Or Kennedy-Nixon, with less than 113,000 votes in favor of Kennedy.
  9. Duh. Of course he is laying the groundwork for his next Big Lie, that the 2024 election was also 'stolen' from him, never mind that Biden won 7 million more votes than him in 2020. He's nothing if not predictable. And, a loser, twice already, with the American voters.
  10. Somebody correct that headline. Delays are not looming. There have been delays from the get-go.
  11. Daddy/Ex-hubby died. Let's make some money.
  12. Thanks! I had no idea there was an actual book with that title. I was just having some fun, playing on his Art of the Deal.
  13. Not surprising, he did write the international bestseller, The Art of the Grift, so he certainly knows how to grift with the very best. His biggest grift by far, of course, is his Untruth Social.
  14. Nice to see the blue on an upward trajectory while the red is flatlining. Dead man walking.
  15. 'illustrious footsteps'--my cue to stop reading.
  16. Plenty of time until the election, and, meanwhile, what she is doing now is working. So fun watching Trump gnash his teeth to nubs. Let her get her sea legs but even then she should be the anti-Trump and be sparing with interviews. Less is more. Devote her time to winning the swing states.
  17. Not always. Gore almost won in 2000 with 48.4% of the vote vs. Bush's 47.9%. Had he carried Florida, with some of the after-election analyses of the Florida vote tally showing that he actually did, he would have won the EC and the election.
  18. Audrey Hepburn, Barbara Stanwyck, Katharine Hepburn, Bogart, Cary Grant.
  19. As others have noted, it's RFK. Stopped reading when I got to 'JFK'. If you're too befuddled to get the candidate's names correct . . .
  20. I've never read a bad one, either. Thanks for the Chris Carter recommendation.
  21. I have wonderful Thai in-laws and I welcome their visits. Spouse and I are just about finished with our new house, which will have more room for when family visits.
  22. I'm surprised he's still alive, as out of shape as he is. Massive heart attack waiting to happen.
