  1. Well, the week is certainly looking up! Donnie, ask for the vertical stripes with your prison garb. Vertical stripes, as you know, are much more slimming than horizontal, and with your morbidly obese weight . . .
  2. Well, that's the one thing they are all focused on so should work out just dandy.
  3. According to my Thai partner, he arrived wearing a $1,200,000 watch. Yeah, a real man of the people. He and the ancient tub of lard who is apparently still alive can swap watches and have a grand old time.
  4. Ha. Ha. Ha. Hope they were tasty because they are likely going to cause severe indigestion later.
  5. Oh, my. Where to begin. Can't believe he wants Thailand to be in the same fine company regarding human rights with China, let alone North Korea. How he was able to utter that with a straight face is beyond me. Plenty of scams all over the internet, might as well get rid of the whole internet all together to be on the safe side.
  6. What utter and complete nonsense. Greater Pattaya is huge, consisting of a large number of different neighborhoods and districts, both on the Beachside and the Darkside. You live in the small tourist/entertainment area of Greater Pattaya and are judging the whole city on what you observe in your small, immediate area. Sort of like someone living right on the Vegas Strip, never venturing off it, and complaining that the whole city is just gamblers. The vast number of farangs living in Pattaya are not living where you are, and you are likely not running into any of them. The vast number of farangs living in Pattaya are not drinking next to you at this bar or that bar every night. Instead, they are living normal lives, doing normal things. I've said many times that my lifestyle didn't change when I moved to Pattaya--I do the same things I did in the USA, just more cheaply and with good weather year-round. I think that is true for many, as well. You seem to be unhappy with your life, perhaps because you are not living a normal life. Drinking alone at a bar every night is not normal; I would be unhappy in your shoes, too. As I said to another poster on the retirement home thread, you need to get out more--and go greater distances when you do venture out. You clearly have a distorted image of Greater Pattaya based on the small area that you never seem to venture from. You would find that most farangs are living in places other than the in-town tourist areas. They are in condos and housing estates in Jomtien, Wong Amat, Pratamnak, Cosy Beach, Na Jomtien, Naklua, and others. Many are in the hundreds of housing estates on the Darkside. Yes, you read that right--there are hundreds of housing estates on the other side of Sukhumvit, likely an area you have never been to. Maybe skip a day of drinking and do some exploring. I suggest a trip to Lake Mabprachan on the Darkside. Rent a bike from one of the venders and take a ride around the lake on the nice bike path.
  7. Instead of asking someone to 'post the proof' why don't you actually leave your room and discover some things for yourself. I believe you may be the one who inspired the expression, 'you need to get out more', as you clearly do, and clearly have no idea. I wonder if you have ever even been to the Darkside of Pattaya, which has hundreds of housing estates, big and small. If you did leave your room, you would discover that 6MB would be on the low end for detached houses, especially newer ones. My partner and I have bought 2 houses and are in the process of buying a third house and all were over 6MB. Most new detached house projects would start around that range and go up from there. At the new project we are buying at, the prices run from 6.5 to 10MB, in the average range. You can find smaller, older homes without a pool for less than 6MB but the growing market for farang buyers is a detached home with a pool. Take a drive over to the Darkside sometime, visit some of the many new housing projects, and you'll see what I am talking about.
  8. 'Thaksin returns'. Umm, no he hasn't. Wait until he actually returns, if he does, before putting up a headline like that. He's said he will return 20some times in the past--and didn't.
  9. Baloney. He is no more at risk than any other prisoner,--all prisoners are at risk--and should be treated no differently. He certainly doesn't warrant any 'conveniences' that other prisoners don't receive.
  10. I think this thread has gotten a bit off the track. While the discussion of the various ways to search out property, and the various areas and ways to live, etc., has been interesting and entertaining at times, it is not what the OP has asked for. To review, he is looking for a 1 bedroom seaview condo rental with at least 60 sqm as close to Beach Road as possible. Budget 25,000 baht. I have found only two that fit those parameters, Northshore and Markland. There may be others but that is what I have come up with. Northshore has 1 bedrooms ranging from 64 sqm to 80 sqm. Hipflat shows a few seaview choices in the 25,000 baht range. Markland has a few 72 sqm seaview units, also in that price range. These two projects are the closest to Beach Road that I know of, but, again, there may be others. For the OP, these seem to be the choices that come closest to what he is looking for. In his shoes, I would check the two projects to see what is currently available for rent and compare the projects to see which is the better of the two for the renter's needs. If neither project fits the bill, for whatever reasons, the OP needs to, at this point, modify his search parameters. View Talay 6, for example, would be a consideration if the OP is ok with a 48 sqm studio. One bedrooms at VT6 seem to be out of his price range but he could check with some agents or perhaps at the VT6 office. If he drops the Beach Road requirement, there are two projects on Second Road that offer seaview units in the 25,000 baht range, Centric Sea and The Base. Being newer projects, the unit sizes are smaller, with 1 bedrooms in the 30 to 38 sqm range. He might find a small 2 bedroom at either project in his price range. These would be around 50 to 60 sqm. Both projects are large, around 1000 units. No project is going to be perfect. You strive to come closest to what you are looking for. Sometimes, in order to get something you have to have, you give up something else that you wanted, but don't absolutely need. For the OP, I think Northshore comes closest to filling what he specified in his original post. In addition to filling his stated requirements, I think Northshore shines above the rest due to the small number of units, less than 200, and the size of the units, all 64 sqm or larger. The larger unit sizes attract more long-term renters, and there is less of a renter churn than at the larger projects with 700 or more hotel-size units. Location is also excellent. You can walk to Terminal 21, there is an international hospital almost next door, and Central Festival is just down the road via a baht bus. Disclaimer: I do not own or rent out any property at Northshore, it just seems to fit the bill the best. This thread is a good illustration of what I have often said regarding the 'thousands and thousands' of condos for sale and how can one ever find a buyer with so many on the market. As we have seen, as soon as you put in some search parameters, you greatly narrow the market. The OP had 3 of the major ones: location, unit size, and price range. To that, he added seaview. With just those 4 wants, you can see that the choices were narrowed down to just a handful, not 'thousands and thousands'.
  11. Well, he's what we used to call, 'a big, fat tub of lard'. I should make that 'a delusional big, fat tub of lard', as recently he made a joke about one of his opponents being fat, while utterly unable to see how morbidly obese he, himself, is, and how he should keep his big, fat mouth shut on the subject of anyone's weight. Gotta go with over 273.5 lbs,, none of it in brain.
  12. 22 August. Aligns nicely with the 22 previous times he's said he's returning.
  13. Sorry, not gonna fly. Obeying the law is neither Democrat nor Republican. Well, let's see--I'm a Democrat, so I'm allowed to steal. Well, let's see--I'm a Republican, so I'm allowed to murder. Nope, the law is the law, regardless of party. Trump was warned, he should be locked up until the trial, with only access to scheduled visitors and his lawyers. He needs to learn some respect for the law, and also be reminded that he is not above the law.
  14. I can't speak for the south side of Northshore but I lived on a fairly high floor on the north side and noise was not a problem. A small, boutique hotel across the street had a rooftop bar/restaurant and there was live music on some weekends but that was about it for noise, and it ended around midnight.
  15. No matter. It served its purpose, to drum up more publicity for Trump, with the ultimate goal of Trump grabbing as much money as possible, from as many people as possible. Folks, this is grifting at its very, very finest. Commit multiple, extremely serious crimes, and have folks, mostly gullible, uneducated, and low-income, pay you their hard-earned money for committing those crimes. It's truly breathtaking in its flim-flamming audacity, and gleefully told in one of the final chapters of his new book, The Art of the Grift. Had a good laugh at the story this morning of poor (literally), idiot, revolting Giuliani going hat in hand to Trump to beg him to pay him the 'legal' fees he is owed. It will be a snowy, blizzardly, bitter cold day at Mar-a-Lago before the Grifter King ever opens his wallet. Grifting, Rule 1.
  16. Translation: We pay a truly disgraceful pittance and now we are going to be even more stingy--if possible--on who receives it.
  17. Condo choices are rather slim, especially for close to Beach Road and seaview. Northshore would be the nicest, in my opinion, for seaview units. Hipflat has a few listings from 24,000 to 28,000 baht for 1 bedrooms ranging from 68 to 80 sqm, various floors from 10 up. Nice pool and gym, Central Festival easy to get to by baht bus. Markland, older, a short distance up the road, might be another choice. These are both at the northern part of Beach Road. Centric Sea, on 2nd Road, is a much bigger project and should have some seaview choices at that price point, although the 1 bedroom units will be smaller as it is a newer project. Nice amenities, including sky lounges. Central Marina and Terminal 21 are just up the road by baht bus. The Hipflat website can give you some idea of projects and pricing.
  18. Agree. I don't think MF should sit on the sidelines, marginalized and powerless. MF should be in the thick of things and vote for the PT candidate for PM--then see what the other PT coalition members do--that will be a much more entertaining vote, if nothing else. A PT prime minister is better than one of the junta dinosaurs back in power yet again. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Baby steps forward, about all we can hope for at this point.
  19. Terrible decision, with ridiculous reasoning. If nothing else, the court should have made a ruling so the proper, legal proceeding is nailed down for future PM votes. If that's there awful reasoning, Pita should submit it again, himself.
  20. As always, all set for duty in . . . Alaska. No wonder they never venture outside. I'm sweating at just the thought of wearing something like that in Thailand.
  21. Thanks. I've said many times that I value agents and the hard work they do. Agents have sold most of the properties my partner and I have put up for sale, both here and in the US. I have also said that I am way too lazy--not to mention impatient--to be an agent, and that still holds true. Good luck!
