  1. What kind of test dod you have? ATK? It sounds like it was positive and they will test with PCR. It is of course quite possibe you are positive, as vaccination does not guarantee you will not be infected. Good luck and I hope it is negative.
  2. My wife informs me tht Pfizer is now allowed after astra zeneca. The stock of pfizer needs to be used up. She works for the MoPH so she is well informed. I didn't know until just now when I asked her.
  3. Good question. Mine shows both of my az shots (there is a blank space for a 3rd dose). I'm a bit puzzled as to how some have managed to mix certain brands that have not been approved yet. Possibly, the hospital is injecting but not checking the MoPH record before the second shot.
  4. Same as me. But I will probably wait until 2nd gen vaccines are available. Probably sometime next year. Not too worried about it now. If I get infected (hopefully with not severe symptoms), that will create new antibodies that give a borader immune response (nautral antibodies attack the entire virus, not just the spike protein).
  5. Yes mine did, sorry wasn't I clear? I had a CT after the doc did a regular xray and could not see (or could barely see) the stone. I don't recall havign an US for that particular stone, but US will show them if they were in the kidneys. My CT showed the stone clearly in the ureter, and also a small one in a kidney. I went in for Lithropsry but in the meantime the stone had passed. I didn't have the procedure as as I was laying there they went inside and checked for it (not comfortable afterards!). It was gone from the ureter. I passed it eventually about 2 weeks later. I did show the doc the stone; he was not certain what kind it was, but it ceetainly looked likt uric acid from its shape and rough texture. Sorry, off topic:)
  6. You will get covid, that is for certain. It will become endemic. Not saying you will get serious symptoms and end up in hospital, but you may experience symptoms like you have not experienced before. The point of the vaccine is to reduce the likelihood of severe symptoms.
  7. i saw a video with some US researchers stating that with delta, at least 85% vaccinated (or infected) is required. Others from the UK have stated that it is likely to become endemic and herd immunity won't be achieved.
  8. Because most children have not been exposed to the virus. Put them in school with no precautions and there will be thousands of cases within one week. How many may die? Not so many, but there will be a LOT of kids very ill and in hospital.
  9. They may push for vaccinations in September and October (October is the mid year vacation for Thai schools). I think Noverber is the earliest they will open. Some foreigh teachers just got their first vaccination recently, and most students are not vaccinated. I think primary schoo kids will not be back to school this year, but as 12-18 y.o can get vaccinted, there may be a push to get them back to school. Then some parents won't want that, so teachers may have to somehow teach at school then possibly have to accomodate those that don't want to attend. This could be a real mess.
  10. Many years ago I had a pain around the gall bladder area. I went many months with it, and seemed to get worse (psychosomatic effect). Saw a specialist he said it wasn't the gall bladder. It righted itself after a few months. They I had recalled playing sport eaerlier on and straining my muscles in that area. So it could be something as simple as strained rib cartilage or intercostal muscles.
  11. Uric acid stones are hard to detect with US if they are in the ureter. Non contrast CT scan is used for that (had it myself). Stones are visible with US if they are in the kidneys.
  12. Most stones give pain when they try to ass (usually get stuck in the ureter). I've had a few. nasty things. But the CT scan should find it easily, and also any stones in the kidneys. Buy your symptoms do not make it sound like a stone (laying down doesn't make the pain subside).
  13. Mapped but not remapped. Remapping is generally used to tune a car for more perfomance - especially cars that are already turbo charged. But they can also optimise the tune for different fuel grades. Many drag cars run on e85. As others mentioned, you would need to try different grades of fuel and calculate the overall cost. They also observe any changes in performace. In some cars, some say the car runs the same on each, but other cars the performance is noticeably less.
  14. She should be OK to stay (missed this post) Not much about Buddhist faith - just low education, really.
  15. If she was released, she should not be infectious - she should have returned 2 negative swabs, at least, before beign released. Ask her about that.
  16. You will lose power with E85 and get lower fuel economy. You would need to remap your engine to get the most out of E85.
  17. November seems reasonable (will still have maybe 2K cases a day then based on recent modelling). But I doubt any primary school student will be vaccinated (and will be mixing to some degree) with my high school students. Will be interesting to see what schools do with teachers / students who refuse / cannot vaccinate for whatever reason. A lot will depend on push from the parents and MoE/MoPH requirements. The tone of the story suggests all teachers must be vaccinated.
  18. Same issue with the data from Israel. Most are vaccinated, so of course we see many breakthrough cases. Not many in vulnerable groups are unvaccinated, but make a significant proportion of those hosptalised.
  19. Antibodies are not the whole story. You really should educate yourself regarding vaccinces.
  20. You can follow up with az and have similar antibodies to two az shots (in a shorter time frame too).
  21. Yeah, when the only risk, aside from death, is a 500 baht fine. For young Thais who think they are invincible, its worth the risk to them.
  22. Auto diesel (2wd if you are on regular roads). But Toyota and Isuzu at this prices are at least 10-15 years old or more, so the condition will be variable. But they will be easy to service and get parts for.
  23. I wonder about the science behind those protocols. This is a private hospital trying to sell Moderna. I've had 2 az, but would not consider any booster until next year - and most likely wait for 2nd generation vaccines (actuallly natural infection is the way to get a broader immunity). Nothing beats being exposed to the virus - the vaccine is just some insurance against hospitalisation / death).
  24. Sweden has 1440 deaths / million vs Thailand's 155/million. I woud say Sweden decided to kill off all the vulnerable people by letting the virus spread unabated.; hence their current low death rate. Rather despicable, really.
  25. I doubt it. Our death rate wuld already be in the thousands if 40% is extrpolated to the entire population. Our testing is NOT rancom - most tested are presenting with symptoms, hence the high rate. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/12/the-problem-with-the-covid-19-positivity-rate.html Only deaths and hospitalistions show the true extent of infection.
