  1. You need:

    1. A copy of the company DBD document signed on every page by a company director. The directors are listed on page 1 of the document. Every page also needs to have the company stamp next to the director's signature.

    2. A signed copy of the ID card of the company director who signed the DBD.

    3. You may be asked for a copy of the chanote and/or the sale document (อช ๑๒).  These would also need to be signed by the same director and have the company stamp affixed.

If you click on search and all content you will see this. Then click on advanced search it will take you to the page I posted a link to.

I'm using a mobile device, as I imagine a large percentage of users are. I don't see an all content button.

Just a box to type in and a search magnifying/glass icon to execute the search.

That still doesn't answer my question however. How can an average user (me) end up with two drastically different result when I search the site?

I do thank you for helping me, however my point is a lot of users are like me. We see a search box on the home page. We click it, type in the search term and hit the search icon. And we receive zero hits.

This isn't a user problem. It's badly working search software.

  3. I tried searching for:

    non O immi visa

using the search icon on the forum home page and also the link supplied by ubonjoe. I got two completely different results.

The forum home page search icon provided zero hits. The link provided by ubonjoe provided 42 hits.

How can that be? I'm sure you can replicate the search yourselves.

I would suggest that most users would use the search icon at the top of the page - the same icon that returned zero hits for me.

sounds stupid, but if my child travels into thailand on a UK passport dosent she just have a 30 day visa like anyone else ? or does this not apply if she has dual nationality.

You are correct. Your child will have a 30 day visa exempt entry (unless you apply for a tourist visa for them).

However, if your child is taken to a Thai immigration office, they will be able to get a 1 year extension of stay on the basis of being Thai. Such extensions can be granted time after time with no limit.

Your may need a Thai birth certificate to do this (ask the experts in the Visa forum).

I'm believe your wife can get a birth certificate without you needing to be present. I'm not 100 per cent on that however.

  5. Your child does have dual nationality, and they had it from the day they were born.

Fortunately, the Thai passport office (including applications through the Thai embassy in London) require both parents to be present in person to apply for their child's Thai passport.

This means it is unlikely your child will get a Thai passport without your consent.

As stated previously, keep the UK passport in a secure place. Without it your wife will have problems. If you applied for your child's UK passport, and your wife reports the passport lost, then she will have to include a signed letter from you where you expressly give your consent for a new passport to be issued.

Of course the easiest option is to persuade you to go on holiday to Thailand and then she disappears with the child.

I don't know if this is a tax thing or what but several times I've seen monthly rent statements from similar rooms where the rent for the room space is itemized at about 60% of the rent and furnishings itemized at 40%..

It is a tax thing. It saves the owner about 5.5 per cent tax on the total annual income of the furniture portion of the invoice.

Which can be a lot if money for a big building.

  7. Thai style rooms are usually 25-30sqm. There are literally hundreds of them in the Bang Na area. You can get a room with aircon already installed for about 3,000 baht a month.

These places are not difficult to find for a Thai person. Just start at the beginning of Sukhumvit 105 and ask at every apartment block you come across as you head deeper into the soi. (You will have to go down side sois a little way too).

Key questions to ask are the price of the room, any common fee/service charge, cost of water and electric per unit and is there a minimum charge for utilities.

I'm also suggesting my partner to make an appointment with the Kasikorn branch manager, and to take along a friend who is a bit more business savvy.

I understand that there is some recourse to the Thai Ombudsman service in the case of any wrongdoing by the bank - but ultimately I suspect that she just signed up to a very costly loan, due to both the length of repayment and her financial status...

There's nothing to discuss. She signed a contract with a reputable bank and the interest rate is not out of the ordinary for Thailand.

If you want to help just pay the loan amount each month. If things go wrong with your relationship before the end of the loan period then you will have paid less money. If you're still together then you've lost nothing.

Understand that once the loan is paid off it is highly likely another mortgage will be taken out.

Yes, I've met these women.  From good families, studied overseas, and working in professional jobs.  Strangely, pretty much all these Thai women are with Thai men.  But we're talking about Thai women who are available to foreigners.

In my experience, quite a lot of them are single. Some would consider daring a non-Thai if the guy was decent. Others wouldn't.

No, below average.  Bargirls speak English pretty well, by the way, compared to the typical Thai girl.  Is that what you're talking about?

There is a slice of Thai society that speaks English very well. Most of them were educated abroad and travel extensively. I would definitely describe these people as above average.

  11. What is the fund for? As an example, some villages have a funeral fund that pays out upon death.

Every time there is a funeral, all participating villagers pay in about 200 baht to replenish the fund. The payout covers all necessary funeral costs.

You have to consider it is a village. Some villagers may not ever have 20,000 baht in their hand in their entire life.

If 200 villagers paid in that quantity of money the payout would be 4 million baht. That's more than most state lottery payouts. The village would be the most famous in Thailand, full of village millionaires.

You are right to be suspicious. This is just another scam to separate you from your money.

So, according to you it is inpossible to have to travel inside a country for doing your work???

I am living on earth, and there it´s possible. What about you?

I'm sorry but I don't understand you. I read the article and it seemed to me that it was directed at domestic travellers, which I thought was rather good.

The article talks about allowing expenses to be tax deductible. Businesses can already deduct valid invoices/receipts as a business expense and also reclaim VAT (if they are VAT registeted).

I really don't understand your point.
