  1. There have been a number of comments on the 5am/6am time, but no-one has really answered the OP's original question. I, I'm sure the OP and at least one other would like an answer as to what the current situation is with queuing for marriage extensions at CM. What system is in place? Is "missing out" a potential reality? Is it better or worse than it was before the Promenada change?

As for me, I have never once arrived at that absurdly indecent hour. I think the earliest i have ever arrived has been 8am and have never "missed out". However information on what it is like now seems to be as scarce as hens' teeth. (I live 150km up country so it is rather difficult for me to go and check it out in person.)

before it move to promenada ; i go there at 6 am and finish at 3pm

on 17 nov i need to go there i will go at 5 am at old immigration

  2. Mai Sai is not allowing out/in crossings to get a visa exempt entry.

If you have a valid visa for re-entry you can do it.

They have allowed people In and out but ask for onward plane ticket somewhere.

my friend went a few weeks ago.

sorry no visa no out , i was there last tuesday ; the guy saw my passport and try to found the visa and say no visa ? i say no , he say cannot go , he don't care if i have 20 000 on my book bank or plane ticket

This is exactly why thai006 tried to cross last week; several posters were reporting that they knew someone who was allowed a visa exempt entry. He ended up wasting his time travelling to Mae Sai.

people say that yeah , i know my friend he go there and got 30 day exempt without visa ...

solution ? Go to Chiang Khong there they let you go out and in without visa and got 30 day :)

my passport is full but the last visa exempt i got it in mae sai in november 2014 and after only non o visa , have a group of chinese in front of me , they say no visa , you cant go out :)

  4. i am only the one person who comment on the video 5555+

you want meter go down and pay 50 B suvarnabhumi charge, if you go up dont say anything and accept no meter ; you say on your video 50b is 1 meal in thailand , if you think like that don't travel really ,

last year ago i arrived from pattaya at the departure level and ask taxi to go lat phrao and everyone say 350 400b no meter , ok mai pen lai i go take the train

you want unlimited electric ? try hotel more expensive :) 500 1000b and you will see,

i dont understand people really , come here for what for live more poor than our country ? now i live in thailand but before when i come i work so hard for have a good hotel , good meal , not thinking if i spend 50b in the taxi meter , today i will not eat on the street

    please peopleeee

  5. at mae sai , no visa no out , only smile.png

go to chiang khong same i did last week , there they let you out and in without anything ask

I told you almost one month ago that you probably woudn't be able to cross. Your response was that you had no problem last November. I assume it didn't work out the way you expected?

the guy outside saw every passport and say to everyone no visa no go only ; last november 2014 everyone go there and they let everyone come

  6. Glad you added "in my book" to your definition of a tourist. Can you rather explain why there is no limit on back to back tourist visas. Seems Thailand is not using your definition.

I'm here on extension of stay based on retirement.

So what term for me? Resident. ? Citizen ?

    I am a TOURIST

you have retirement visa, same me i got thai child so non o thai child that why we can stay in thailand without problem :)

  7. Every bank charges 180 baht per withdrawal. Thus, withdraw as much as possible. With a foreign card you will be limited to 20-25k baht per withdrawal. Be sure to tell your home bank that you are travelling and ask what your limits are and how often. Also consider getting a cash advance from a credit card at a bank. I did that once when my account was empty and was stunned at how cheap it was (assuming you pay off the credit card debt in a timely manner). I have forgotten the details, sorry, but it was a Canadian Visa at Bangkok Bank.

Yes go to the bank and go inside to get your cash with your Visa. No ATM charge and you get the Visa rate.

I go every month and get enough money with my Visa card for the month.

They build in a 50 THB fee into the exchange rate, but it still saves you at least 100 thb.

what do you mean ? go inside the bank and give the visa card to the bank guy ? can you explain me :)

  8. It is possible to fly in get an exempt entry then extend it do a border hop for a new entry and then extend it.

Ubon i get 30 day from chiang khong and expire on 25 november , can i aply for 60 day extension right father of thai child , and after wait for new passport ans make new visa in january

You can apply for the 60 day extension. They may not do it until you only have a couple of weeks left on your entry.

You could apply for the new passport before doing the extension and do the extension afterwords in your old passport. I don't think there is any embassy that makes your old passport invalid when you apply for the new one.

Then you can get a visa in January.

thank you , what date you think is good to go ?
