- Expect longer processing times on entry/exit to/from Thailand with possible questioning leading to ever longer queues.
- Expect long processing times for extensions of stay - especially Non-O. They will be looking through every line on bank statements multiple times and will thumb back and forth through passport at least 6 times going forward. Just looking for something.
- Any slightest discrepancy will be questioned and likley rejected.
In related news. Jomtien immigration finally broke a record for queues. Now you can sit on the beach while waiting your turn for interrogation!
Of course, using an agent for fee will not change, and will expediate your application as always 🙂

Milking her assets and talents for all their worth. No doubt there's a long line of Somchais (and likely a few farangs now) hoping for more than mango sticky rice. Could even say they might like to boom boom Boom Bin.

Aussie and Kiwis not being able to apply for visas to Thailand... best news so far today 🙂
Clearly, the Thai MoFA has a tech issue so hopefully they will get it back online soon. Likely after enough phone calls to the Thai embassies in OZ & NZ.

Please help me understand this?
In my country a "Culvert" is a small bridge over a stream of gutter.
So is the structure in the photo going to have the road built up on either side and allow vehicular traffic to pass over the railway tracks without impeding the trains? A bit like an "overbridge".
Good question. I was wondering same. From the picture it looks like the train track (the wide strip) will have to be elevated over the top of the "culvert". See no mention of trains passing through the "culvert". It say's vehicle pass though the culvert so the trains must go up and over.

I don't know the answer to your question. I would simply find another dealer that can supply the latest model.

Really? But then why would there be penalties if you go over the temporary export limit of 30 days?
The fees could be something to with bringing it back in to Thailand. As OP say's, it's not coming back to Thailand, so no issue.

Something may have been lost in translation. Expect the article meant "pub/bar/venue serving alcohol" rather than "liquor store". Either way, not nice to see someone injured. Could have been worse. But surely the police will also be investigating why it was still open at 04:30am. Or do they have a "special" licence?

Some people never learn. Good luck to the OP. No upside in marriage for men.

Be aware that at CW they now want TM47 in your paperwork.
I travel to/from Thailand a lot so last time I was here for 90 days was during Covid. I was here for 13 months and that was the only times I filed the TM47 (90 day report). Assume TM47 is not required unless in country for 90 days or longer.

How about "some of the above".
- I selected digital nomad as I run my overseas business from Thailand.
- I'm not retired but work only 7 months per year.
- I'm not looking for a wife but have a lovely long term partner here.
- I'm not a businessman in Thailand but do have business elsewhere
- I'm an entrepreneur but have not yet found anything compelling for me to set-up in Thailand
- I'm not a sexpat, but have been known to enjoy the company of other ladies (less nowadays).

Considering that Jomtien Immgration only allows everybody to extend their tourist visa or visa exempt only one (1) business day prior to stamp expiry, that means anyone with a stamp expiring on the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th will be going in to extend on the 11th and won't get their passports back until the 17th, as it's a 2 day process. That's a very long time to be without your passport and hoping that they don't lose it in the meantime.
I'd be guessing there will be an absolutely insanely massive queue on the 11th next month. Hope they will put on extra staff to work the days in the lead-up to the extra long holidays.
I really feel sorry for the poor saps who have to deal with Jomtien (be that tourist or Non-O long stay). I'll be doing my annual extension at CW Bangkok, this Thursday. 44 days before extension expiry. Never a problem. I will be in Pattaya on 11th April, could be quite entertaining to see the frustration and frayed tempers at Soi 5, Jomtien.

It doesn't say what cars qualify as a 'Classic car' - 20, 30 40 50 years old?
I thought same. After reading, I could see no definition of what constitutes a classic car. Over 40 years old would be fair IMO. Or a kit car (not mass produced/marketed model) too.

When I bought Gold last year in Chinatown, I wanted 99.99%. After trying many shops, I found only one small boutique that sold it. Their buy/sell spread was ridiculous like 500 Baht IIRC. All the other shops selling 99.99 pure only had 1 kilo bars (not the quantity I wanted 🙂). In the end I queued up far an hour at one of the Hua Seng Heng stores watching huge amounts of mostly gold jewelry being bought and sold. I bought smaller minted bars at 96.5% pure. The buy/sell spread is only 50 Baht. It has turned out to be a satisfying purchase. Hopefully, if the OP @Keeps buys Gold for his GF, he can say same. Consider it a gift (along with other advice he might get on this thread).

You could just replace the battery. Easily done.
Some Dell's seem to have a battery issue. I use XPS13's and after about 3 years (of heavy use), the internal battery will swell and push up the touchpad and/or keyboard. It is an easy fix and less than 4,000 Baht to replace with genuine battery (2,000 Baht with non-genuine battery). Plenty available on Lazada. Watch tutorial on YouTube if not sure how to do. Minimal tools needed (a full set cost me less than 200 Baht on Lazada). Job done for about 4,000 Baht and good for another 3 years at minimum. No need to buy a new device and all the hassle of setting up O/S and applications again.

She said fruit, vegetables and market produce. A full meal at the roadside stalls with the big urns of curry, soup etc. including nam prik, vegetables and dessert for 50-60 Baht.

I love these topics so well done to the OP.
Most places in Thailand are very similar for prices.
Agreed. We just spent a week in the rural south at Nakhon Si Thammarat. So much cheaper than Pattaya (and that's what GF said).

Up to 1 kilo of shrimp paste used to be allowed in the UK so expect no problem. Be sure to seal it well and pack in checked baggage. As @Martin71 say's worst is that it'll just get confiscated but highly unlikely to be an issue anyway. Sniffer dog got my ex-wife on arrival at Heathrow some 15 years ago her case was full of Thai curry and chilli pastes etc. That's how I know 1 kilo of shrimp paste was OK at the time as the agent said so with no problems.

With 5 months remaining, yes, almost certainly will be fine. No country would likely deny a citizen entry even with an expired passport. The enemy, as often, is the airline and their interpretation of rules and their ability to deny boarding. Best to renew passport earlier if is is causing anxiety.

No discernible owner was found,
Of course not. That would involve time and effort on part of BiB. They could have done investigative work and put the machine under covert observation until the owner (or their operatives) came to restock it and empty the cash. Or maybe, they know the owner is a connected or influential person?

The CPPD’s probe revealed a disturbing truth: a clandestine vending machine peddling e-cigarettes and e-liquids, allegedly accessible to scores of unsuspecting minors.
Those minors knew exactly what they wanted to buy and where to get it. Definitely not "unsuspecting".

Any sensible country would apply strict vehicle safety inspections, limit driver hours, enhance driver training and licensing, design safer roads and enforce all the rules. They would also hold highly accountable the corporation and their executives or insurers. But not Thailand. So sad for the unnecessary loss of life and suffering. Life is way too cheap here and some on this forum think it funny. Clearly they haven't suffered personal tragedy of a loved one or head of the family. Shame.
