You have plenty of time if you do it now. I have made 3 succsessful UK visit visa applications for my partner in Bangkok in the last two years. Each visa was issued in less than 15 working days from submitting biometrics. You can pay more to get a faster decision. Fill out the appliaction form online - it is not difficult. Be sure to give as much detail as possible regarding the intended trip. You must include full financial details (both of you if you wife does not have her own income or wealth). She does not have to have anything in her account but you should show how you support her.

Agreed. Also, what has it got to do with the police? No crime has been comitted as it's a civil matter covered by the rental agreement and deposit (what are deposits for?). She should have evicted them once rent fell into arrears. In the UK, police would laugh at a landlord in a case such as this - civil matter.

It was. This arrest, was almost certainly due to facial recognition. Now everything is being digitised such as driving licences, passports and the upcoming digital ID, this will become a thing of the past. DNA has led to apprehension of suspects previously, now with facial recognition globally, there is no escape.

This is best advice. If no extension needed then don't bother. I have the registration for TM30 at my Bangkok condo. The only time I ever do a TM30 is each year, on last entry before I will extend my permission to stay (non-O). They do ask for it at CW in my case. A word for anyone who WILL need to deal with immigration for extension of stay; is DO NOT pay a deposit/payment on a rental until landord or agent can show you that they have already filed a TM30 for you. If not then walk away as it will cause you nothing but hassle. I would go further and insist on a copy of landlord's/owner's Thai ID card and Blue Book house register - with that, you can register for TM30 account in their name and file TM30 for oneself. If they won't give you their ID, then walk away - after all, they will insist on a copy of YOUR passport!

I prefer dawn and dusk as the best and my favourite parts of the day in Thailand. For example, starting my walk in a Bangkok park while it's dark and into the sunrise. That time from 05:30am to 07:30am is magical. At the other end of the day, I time socialising and relaxing to arrive at my favourite bar on Soi Nana about 5:30pm, get a nice cold beer and watch the sky turn dark and stay until 7:30pm as day turns to night, the lights come on and the ladies pass by heading for work. Though, far too often, I stay well into the night (and some times previously, all the way to dawn).

Safety of international tourists? Thailand doesn't give a rat's arse so long as they get the money first.
