  1. for me the only option is by motorbike. it doesn't matter what type of motorbike, automatic 110cc scooter or big bike, the road is suitable for all kinds of motorbikes.

beautiful scenery, your own timetable, a lot safer than crazy minivan or busdrivers.

But you and your tiny motorbike are on the same windy road as those crazy minivns

  2. One Pointer...

When you arrive in Pai make your return reservation...

We showed up at the Pai Mini Bus office on Sunday morning to take one of the every two hour buses back to Chiang Mai and was told all slots were reserved/sold for that day!...

Luckily there was another bus station just down the street that had two seats left on one of their buses

  3. My family have always had 'Jacks' but sorry no info as to how they would handle the heat, can't see it being a problem. As for getting two….Defiantly a good idea. I also don't think you'll get a lot of snakes on your property.

My next door neighbor has one - The heat does not seem to bother it as it always has a heavy T Shirt on B)

  4. Hi guys

I just got an AIS micro NET SIM for iPad 3 G,, how can I check the balance on it?

The lady in the shop said" take it out and put it in a iPhone to check"

I hope Theres an easier way than that!!!

I believe AIS has an iPhone/Pad app that gives you account info

Thanks do you have any idea the name of the app is?

Ive looked but can only find chat apps

    Try this below:

  5. I would be interested in the idea of replacing the power supply!...

I presently have my Harman Kardon receiver hooked up to a warm transformer (which I assume I am paying to keep warm 24/7)...

Where in CM can a replacement transformer be purchased?

  6. The above referenced website is selling the Apple TV for TWICE the US cost!!!

It says no customs or duty fee - So I assume this is a suitcase job ;)

The official Apple Thailand does not sell the Apple TV?...

I assume there is limitations outside of USA for streaming and such - How do you get around that?

  7. Yes, Ratchadamnoen is the road that ends at Thapae Gate. From the gate go towards the center of the old city. Pass Wawee on your left. Pass the next 4 way intersection at Phra Poklao Road. Another 50 meters or so and you'll find Chiang Mai Reflexology Center on your right. It's right next to a tailor's & more or less opposite the Writer's Club. If you Google the name, the very first link has a map to show the location.

    Thank You

They are great!!!... I go there twice a week... They have a couple promotions too... Buy 10 for 1,400 baht or a buy 9 get the 10th one free card...

  8. Koh Lanta is a bit better than Rustica was, so try them again. My opinion only, of course.

You could try M, but I don't think you will like the pizza very much. Their salads and pastas are OK. The caprese salad is very good. They open at 5 PM and are closed on Sunday (I think.) I think they are on Soi 6, but if you are on Nimmen and you see the Lotus Tesco, head west on that soi and M is at the end (maybe 300 meters from Nimmen.)

    What is M?

  9. I use Grace Dental. A little more expensive by Thai standards (embarrasingly cheap by Farang standards) but I look at it this way - you only get one set of teeth so it is better to pay a little more and be assured of quality.

"(embarrasingly cheap by Farang standards)"...I've seen a couple of TV members post comments like this about this place and I totally disagree. I don't know where some of you people go for dental care in the USA but I used to go to good Dentists in Los Angeles that were less expensive than the above mentioned dental clinic. There are many other quality practitioners in C.M. offering much more reasonable treatment.

I went there when I first moved here - good but not great...

After a year here I would say they are embarrassingly expensive for Chiang Mai...

I now go to Elite Smile - at Pantip

I can not see how a 40 minute teeth cleaning by a periodontist who is a university professor for 1200 baht ($40) is embarrassingly expensive? I have friends who remind me they only pay 600 baht at other dentists but then advise me they were in and out in 10 minutes and felt their teeth were not properly cleaned...... Sorry to say but the truth is it is not possible to get a dentist to give even a quick teeth cleaning in Los Angeles for less than $100.....

I have had my teeth cleaned at both Grace & Elite Dental - 1,200 & 600 respectively...

The quality and professionalism was the same...

  10. ...conjecture, resentment and fear-mongering...

    Isn't the Internet wonderful?

Personally I think that the OP who started the initial thread should be admonished for yelling fire and then bolting from the theater...

I posted a link to an article that was already elsewhere on ThaiVisa Forum and asked for specific information about whether or not there were related changes at CM Immigration. That was a request for reports of factual information of recent experience at CM Immigration. That was not a request for information about what your or anybody else thinks about ink jet printers, fair standards, the problems of verifying income, how not to dress for your immigration visit, or anything else.

I have thanked and now thank again those who posted appropriate responses. I have no interest in joining the theater monkey show created by the others.

Sorry I was not clear - I did not mean you :jap: (I thought you were quite right in asking your question)...

I was referring to the OP of the other original initial thread that started this!!!

  12. Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at iPad 2 and iPhone 4 prices and it does look like Apple has done a great job of getting the prices down to reasonable levels when compared to the US.

I'm probably not heading to Thailand until October which I'm hoping the new iPhone 5 will be out by then, probably September. I'll revisit the situation then cause it seems Thailand doesn't always get the iPhone immediately.

Book your flight with a connection/1-2 day layover in Hong Kong and do a little shopping there - They usually get supply right after the US (ALL unlocked right out of the box) instead of 2-3 moths delay release here in Thailand!

And try the noodle soup in Kowloon ;-))

  13. True sell an unlocked iPhone 16gb for 22,250 baht...

MBK vendors have unlocked iPhones from HKG for about the same price (in stock)...

You would have to undercut these prices substantially to sell yours given you are an unknown person who will not be around to service it...
