  1. To check if your number is registered.

dial (on the phone with your SIM card installed) *151# , wait a message will come up with the SIM number and if it is registered the (usually) last 4 numbers of the identification used. If all Thai text following the SIM number, probably not registered.

Have a Thia read the message to you.

Register it or loose it, the number that is, if you have credit on the SIM it can be applied to your new number when you buy a new SIM card and register it.

Oh Ye of little faith, don't register and take your chances you will know AT MIDNIGHT ON 31 July, 2015.

The registration has been required for almost a year now, the grace period is ending 31/7/2015.

I dialed *151# and got the following... Its a screen reply that does not allow me to copy and paste into a translator... Can someone tell me what it says?

  2. This place off of Nimmanhaemin Road on Soi 15 (left side) does both motorcycle & car registration renewals...

Just park right by that white sign and show your blue book to the guy at the table with a computer...

Takes about 10 minutes for emission test and you pick up the sticker the next day

  3. You're right of course, but this device is so handy, you've got to believe that it's available in Chiang Mai.

Meanwhile, the cat is sitting next to Hubby, watching TV, looking like she wants to be helpful. Maybe he could just tell her what channel he wants and she could go into the closet and change it manually.

My cat only pretends to look helpful as a ploy to get more food...

Have you checked the litter box?... coffee1.gif

  4. I assume you are referring to innocent foreigners. Please provide a few examples. I am very interested in this because I haven't heard about it. You're not just spreading fear I hope. That would be a nasty thing to do.

Me, my family, friends and business partners are very pleased with what Prayuth is doing now. So that's a good thing.

Pray tell, what business are you in? I'm scratching my head to think of what line of work would be happy with the current govt....

  5. Where is this location that has been spelled out - Is it in the Mall or across the highway in the gulag they have built for the Lao/Myanmar/Cambodians ?...

I were just having dinner at the The Dukes Promenade... And while waiting for the pizza to arrive I gazed longing across the way

to view the abandoned food court in the adjacent building and lamented the with a few revisions to the overhead menu boards

that would make for a wonderful new Immigration venue... tongue.png

  6. I bought one on the cheaper models similar to what was described above... Have others had the similar problem I have experienced... The unit freezes up and must be reset by unplugging and letting the battery die... And I can't get the unit to keep time... Every couple days the time date clears... The thing is basically unreliable... Guess it's my own fault for buying a cheap Chinese model...

Now I'm looking at proper Garmin unit - GDR33?... Anyone have one to review?

  7. You can get it at he airport when you arrive in Laos

Just make sure you have a photo and the right amount of US currency (they are asking for an extra $1 from the base price listed on the Internet so make sure you have an extra dollar) to make the visa on arrival process easy... Also preprint and fill out the application before you leave and if you fly Lao Air ask to be seated in the back of the plane because they exit from the back and you will be first in line at the VOA desk...
