You missed out two points in your post. You also stated "the Heimlich maneuver is still recommended" but omitted to put "but in a life-or-death situation" in front of your partial quote. In full it reads; "but in a life-or-death situation, performing the Heimlich maneuver is still recommended." Please note the emphasis on "but in a life-or-death situation"!
