  3. You must be a fun guy to have a drink with.
  4. Um, how many MILLIONS died in the 1st year please Vs all previous years.
  5. Can I ask how long you before your Passport expires, mine is in November, so just wondering how long I should wait before applying for the renewal online ? I hazard a guess if I applied next month it would be approved in say July and start from July which would be 4 months earlier than my expiry date and it's not cheap when you have to pay the overseas processing fee. Maybe apply mid September, so would come back October ?
  6. There's some smart advertising for you ????
  7. Email came back, standard run of the mil email, have to contact them, which I did and they confirmed, don't have to go in, just do it online. Well stone the crows ????
  8. I will look at it later, I just emailed them asking them to confirm that I don't need to go in and if they would provide a letter to immigration automatically when renewing my passport so that I can have stamps transferred. As for birth certificates and the like, I have the lot. It all sounds to good to be true, but will make me a happy if I don't got to go anywhere.
  9. This happened to me at a usual road block, but I also have cruise control on, and when he said you speeding, I said no, here is video of me driving and speed, oh, ok, very good, you go to tent and pay 400 baht for being in overtaking lane....LOL Bastard got me, couldn't argue with him, long of the short, I made sure I got my 400 baht off the next Thai guy when I negotiated his price down on the item I was buying, not that I usually do this, but I wasn't going to get fleeced, so revenge is bitter sweet, what goes around comes around, didn't bother me that it was someone else paying for my fine.
  10. I just read on the Embassies website that it can all be done on line, i.e. I don't need to go in, does that sound correct to you ? https://thailand.embassy.gov.au/bkok/Mailed_in_passport_applications.html
  11. The Laos border is about an hour and a half drive from my place, then a taxi on the other side to and from the embassy for 300 baht, re-entry permit 1,000 baht as opposed to driving or flying to Bangkok. Not sure of the process time in Laos, my question was, can it be done in another country, but Lopburi3 believes it may not be done. I have an Oz Passport and Will27 has provided some solid advice.
  12. The core evil in relationships, so glad non in ours, no reason for it. RIP, so sad for the kids.
  13. My passport is coming up for renewal in November and I do not wish to travel to Bangkok twice to lodge it and pick it up, if at all possible as I am an 8 hours drive away. I am thinking to renew my passport in Laos for example and then take my new passport with letter from the embassy to my immigration to transfer the stamps from the old passport to the new passport. Appreciate any advice on this, or any other options I may have.
  14. Yeh, right, watch out for that knife in the back, it will be multiples.
  15. You can't help stupid ! Police tracked the GPS signal of the victim’s AirPods to Soi Yu Suk 30 in the Mueang district of Samut Prakan province, just south of Bangkok, and followed the signal. As soon as police arrived at the Soi Yu Suk 30 they met a man riding a yellow Honda Scoopy motorbike with a Samut Prakan registration. Both the man and bike matched the CCTV images. Police questioned the man, 41 year old Thanakrit, who confessed to snatching and fleeing with the tourists’ bag at around 11pm on Wednesday. Thanakrit was arrested under suspicion of, “robbery by sudden snatching using a vehicle for convenience or to escape from arrest and causing bodily harm to the victim.” So long sucker.....
  16. Only what mum cooks for him, spoilt rotten, little shih tzu
  17. Time for the people to take to the streets again and that worries me.
  18. No what I am implying is that if your not guilty, you don't admit guilt, regardless if it's from your arm chair, but then again, you've sown you're weakness.
  19. I pray he gets the death penalty, real sooooooon !
  20. I would very strongly recommend it, especially with the heat entering the house through the roof/ceiling, that said, you also want to stop the cool air escaping via the gypsum ceiling, hence the cool air can't escape because the ceiling batts stop it going out via the ceiling. We just got back from a 2 week domestic holiday, when we got home today at 3pm, it was 44 degrees, when I opened the house to enter it, it wasn't hot, that said I opened windows to allow fresh air in and the stale air out with some fans turned on (house locked up for 2 weeks), then it got hot, so off went the fans and I closed the windows, then put on a couple of air cons, front and back and two fans, front and back to move the cool air around, it's been 2 hours 20 minutes since I put on the air cons and the house is cool, will turn them off in 10 and then back on for half an hour before we go to bed. I do remember when I didn't have ceiling batts up there, it got hot in the house by 10am, so been there, done that, but the reflective sisalation went in first when the roof tiles were going on, a year later the batts, no regrets what so ever. ust depends on your budget and how much you like your comforts.
  21. Your entitled to your opinion, but if you don't get what I am saying, can't help you, i.e. there are other alternatives to making an income without putting your money into risky fixed businesses. On the other hand look at what Covid did, how many bars/beer gardens and other businesses survived that ? I don't see it as blowing my own trumpet, I see it as learning new ways to make money and for me it has been very good way, suffice to say, currently travelling around Thailand on holidays at the moment and see many businesses still closed while I trade on the stock market, and it is paying for my trip up to this point, i.e. I am making money while travelling on holidays, could I do that in a bar/beer garden, nope, as that would be a fixed business and there would be tax payable etc. All I need is Wi-Fi and my laptop and I'm good to go, is the stock market risky, sure, as is every business, but if you don't buy for the sake of buying and buy particular stocks that you are familiar with, good chance you'll make money. Bars and beer gardens are not for me, and as you said, I am ......... in your opinion. Have a good one.
  22. Like I said, each to their own.
  23. I just don't get guys who want to open up bars to make a 100k baht a month. For one, your stuck there, you have staff wages to pay, brown envelopes and all the headaches that go with it. I have been trading on the stock market with 4 million baht for over 5 years now, I buy when the stocks I know are low and sell when they are slightly up, sometimes they open way up so it's a bonus to me, that said, I make 100k baht a month, you do the math on the return, it's crazy, that said, I buy no less than 1,250,000 baht of stock at a time. The above said, I have no staff to pay, no brown envelopes and zero headaches to deal with, and I visit my local bar 3 times a week. Self taught, and NEVER ever thought of buying a business in Thailand, let alone anywhere else, why would I, this way, I pay no tax and if a particular stock that I know declines, I wait for it to come back up. Owing beer garden or a bar in my opinion, is only for fools. Your friend should look at other alternatives, know too many farangs who have failed in business in Thailand, but each to their own.
