  1. Smugglers prevented from bringing 27 tonnes of cannabis into the UK in 2024 In 2024, 430 suspects were arrested at Heathrow Airport where 14,617kg of cannabis was seized. The next worst affected airports were Manchester Airport, where around 135 arrests were made and 4,815kg of cannabis seized, and Birmingham Airport, where 40 arrests were made and 1,410kg cannabis seized. Of the suspects, 460 were arrested having arrived from Thailand; 108 arriving from Canada and 63 arriving from the USA. The remainder had flown in from a variety of other countries. https://www.nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk/news/smugglers-prevented-from-bringing-27-tonnes-of-cannabis-into-the-uk-in-2024 Thailand and Canada have overproduction.
  2. Oof. https://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/court-of-international-trade-trump-tariffs-illegal.pdf The U.S. Constitution empowers Congress to set import tariffs. POTUS does not, even when he says "it's an emergency". Simple stuff.
  3. 27 May, 19:56 Bangkok Bank stops allowing foreign tourists to open accounts since start of year "An account with the Bangkok Bank can be opened by foreigners present in the country under retirement or non-immigration visas," the spokesperson stressed BANGKOK, May 27. /TASS/. Bangkok Bank stopped allowing foreign tourists to open accounts with them at the beginning of this year, regardless of where they are from, a spokesperson for the largest commercial bank in Thailand told TASS. https://tass.com/economy/1964177
  4. Related... I've seen estimates of between 7,000 and 11,000 cannabis shops. Some of which also have an online presence. The government/MoPH-DTAM operates ~ 1,000 clinics focused on cannabis treatment. I would imagine these would be the primary source of medical cannabis treatment and "medicine". ...if a shift from personal use to medical-only were to occur.
  5. Magic 8-Ball says... Ask again later. With zero details provided, any opinions will be fairly worthless. Standards for cannabis cultivation and export: cannabis cultivated for commercial sale or export must now comply with the GACP (Good Agricultural and Collection Practices) standards established by DTAM. These standards are based on the EU’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, due to the inhalation method of cannabis flower consumption. The cultivation process must ensure high safety standards, including soil and water management, to minimise contamination from heavy metals. Currently, 47 cultivation sites—mostly privately operated—have been certified under GACP standards, primarily serving the export market. DTAM is encouraging more growers to register and apply for GACP certification. Applicants must submit flower samples for laboratory testing. The certification process typically takes around one month if all requirements are met. https://www.nationthailand.com/health-wellness/40050336
  6. You could download, complete, print and mail it on your own.
  7. trumps rants about wind power are precious. He's said the noise causes cancer, you can't watch TV when the wind doesn't blow, all the birds are being killed, and a few whales. "I know windmills very much."
  8. While it is early and there are scant details, it may not be as easy as claiming some medical condition. You may be required to have official medical testing and a diagnosis, for which cannabis is the only option. Currently, there are only four conditions for which cannabis is approved, one of which is end-of-life treatment. The 30-day limit seems unusual given longer-term conditions and treatments. For all we know, they might not allow foreigners to be treated with cannabis. I think we need to see how this change is implemented, via MoPH edict (likely) or legislation, and the final details. This could represent a significant walk-back of the current legalized status of cannabis. I'm somewhat hopeful BJT will do a bit of horse-trading to maintain the current situation.
  9. Edibleland Sukhumvit Soi 49, directly across from Samitivej Hospital, has a staggering selection. https://edibles.choochoohemp.com/ (Choochoo Hemp is their flower distributor and is colocated.) Choo Choo Hemp is on LINE with an edible menu. Most edibles are sold with a stated weight of pure THC in milligrams.
  10. Cannabis flower was removed from the Narcotics list ~ Feb. 9, 2022 (date gazetted, effective date +3 months at May 9, 2022), essentially decriminalizing production, distribution, and personal use. Cannabis extracts remain on the Narcotics list. Some 4,000 prisoners serving sentences for cannabis possession/distribution et al, were released from jail.
  11. No. That's a common misconception. There were no restrictions, other than age, pregnancy, no vending machines, no public use where it impacts others, etc., regarding medical only. It's been legal for three years, no one has ODed, and there are very few negative impacts on society. The smuggling out of Thailand is an issue that could be easily resolved.
  12. drug paraphenalia - probably smoking crystal meth aka Ya Ice (in addition to cannabis) leading to a Krazy Ivan.
  13. Seeing some details on this proposal which mention a patient can get up to 30 grams in any 30 day period. Obviously, "cannabis pharmacists/doctors" will have to be trained. Controls/processes need to be drafted. Eligible diagnoses/conditions will have to be published. Very few conditions here - ~ four - are currently treatable with 'medical' cannabis. Some U.S. states have quite strict medical conditions for which cannabis can be prescribed. example: Florida Qualifying Conditions (as of May 23, 2025): Cancer: Epilepsy: Glaucoma: HIV/AIDS: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS): Crohn's Disease: Parkinson's Disease: Multiple Sclerosis (MS): Terminal illness (diagnosed by a physician): Chronic nonmalignant pain:
  14. Sounds like return fire in the PTP-BJT "battle" around casinos? For now, everyone should understand that this is a "proposal" and does not represent any change in current policy.
