  1. Not sure that's "doctored". Looks like it's from the time they signed an MOU back in November in San Francisco, based on the ties. https://www.nationthailand.com/business/corporate/40032915
  2. "What's it gonna take to get you into a car today?" Srettha's going to have to offer free electricity (for the data centers) for 40 years. And the undercoating. He's desperate to close a deal.
  3. Who said there is a "big deal"? I mean other than you. Just another day in trumpWorld.
  4. Trump and dump. https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112212592075307788 https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112212684659611251 Trump defends Truth Social as media company’s skeptics grow, stock price whipsaws Donald Trump on Thursday defended his social media platform Truth Social as a growing chorus of critics — and short sellers — view its parent company as a meme stock with a vastly overinflated share price. Trump, in two lengthy posts on Truth Social, accused the platform’s detractors of being “Radical Left Democrats” who are trying to convince others “that TRUTH is not such a big deal and doesn’t ‘get the word out’ as well as various others, which they know to be false.” “I THINK TRUTH IS AMAZING!” Trump wrote, echoing a statement earlier this week from Devin Nunes, CEO of the app’s parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group , that it has “no debt and over $200 million in the bank.” https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/04/trump-defends-truth-social-from-critics-as-media-stock-whipsaws.html
  5. Thank you for giving us a preview of what to expect here in Bangkok. Very informative.
  6. One would think that they would be stringent year round?
  7. Not so fast...I'm not sure the Knight Specialty Insurance Company understood what they were getting involved in? Sure, $175m bond. But a $500+m judgment? Is Trump's $175 million civil fraud bond valid in New York? Within 10 days, Trump or the company must file a motion to "justify" the bond, meaning Knight must prove that it is financially capable of paying the bond. "There seem to be serious issues," said Bruce H. Lederman, an attorney who has filed many bonds in New York, including for a real estate developer challenging a judgment. Lederman said he was struck by "glaring errors" in the bond.. "In all the years I've been doing this, you always have to have a certificate from the Department of Financial Services saying that you're licensed to issue a surety bond," he said, referring to the missing certificate of qualification. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-175-million-civil-fraud-bond-valid-new-york/
  8. They always scramble in the last month, and weeks of the quarter to move product off the lot and recognize revenue. In that sort of scenario it can be a stressful time to hot the target. They have to offer greater and greater incentives/discount, which only exacerbate the problem. Musk needs a second trump term, in hopes of lowering interest rates (for loans) and tariffs for imported EV/components. Tesla Is Already Back To Cutting Vehicle Prices After Disastrous First Quarter Deliveries To maintain sales momentum in 2023 in 2024, Tesla has aggressively cut vehicle prices and offered discounts. As a result, auto gross margins, which peaked at 30% in Q4 2021 amid industry chip shortages, have plunged well below 20%. https://www.investors.com/news/tesla-stock-vehicle-cuts-after-disastrous-first-quarter-deliveries/
  9. Either of the two Lopburi Monkey Gangs seems better organized than this PTP-led government. And the Monkeys could do a better job than this government, just by throwing darts. At least something, anything would be accomplished.
  10. GT-200, airships, aircraft carrier without aircraft, sunk frigate, submarine without engine... The Thai military is not immune to the greed and desire to steal the citizen's money to enrich themselves. It's baked into the Thai pysche. Hard to Defend Thailand’s Defence Procurement The Thai government is spending more, and more opaquely, on defence procurement. https://fulcrum.sg/hard-to-defend-thailands-defence-procurement/
  11. I'd probably attempt to get the landlord to register on the TM30 system, and then make a filing for you. This would take ~ 15 minutes tops. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/tm30/#/external/security/register/reg-web I saved this list from a trip report to CW For those in Bangkok: Documentation for self filing a TM.30 are Copies of; -the blue book (signed by the thai) -the thai i/d of the person in the blue book (signed by the thai) -the data page of your passport -the thai visa in your passport (if you have one) -your most recent entry stamp -your extension (if you have one) -the TM.6 departure
  12. I still can't figure out why this internal fight, between Hapkarn and Sukvimol, over who gets the biggest slice of the take, has been allowed to bubble over into the public domain. Normally a powerful arbiter would have brought both men in and settled things once and for all. Clearly, the PM isn't up to the task, and there may not be anyone powerful enough who wants to get involved. The longer this goes on, especially if it doesn't result in charges, only further tarnishes the reputation of the RTP. I think public respect for the police is polling at 15%.
  13. Some are saying it is the bond backer, Knight Specialty Insurance, that needs to disclose/provide additional information. Maybe this firm isn't used to dealing with courts? I think Hankey refinanced trump tower, and also is in big on the trump social media hoax company. Hankery is definitely wealthier than trump Who is Don Hankey, the billionaire whose insurance firm provided Trump a $175 million bond payment? Former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants in his New York civil fraud case on Monday posted a bond of $175 million, following a judge's ruling that they had for years misrepresented the value of his properties. The bond is underwritten by an insurance company run by a billionaire, who got his start making high-risk, high-interest loans to car buyers with poor credit. Don Hankey, the executive whose company provided the bond, is a little-known mogul who built his $7.4 billion fortune through car dealerships and providing subprime auto loans, according to Forbes magazine. That makes him richer than Trump, whom Forbes estimates is worth $6.4 billion, including his multibillion stake in the newly public Trump Media & Technology Group. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-don-hankey-billionaire-175-million-bond-who-is-he/

  16. Well, trump attorney Alina Habba did say if given the choice between being pretty and smart, she'd choose the former. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/alina-habba-trump-lawyer-court-b2481296.html Sounds like she's pretty dumb. Alina Habba, a lawyer for former President Trump, slammed a judge’s recent ruling in the former president’s New York civil fraud trial Friday. “They will not get away with it,” Habba said on Fox News’s “Hannity.” “We will come at them, we will come hard, and we will literally fight until the truth comes out. There was nothing wrong. President Trump has done nothing wrong.” https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4474611-trump-lawyer-habba-ny-fraud-verdict-they-will-not-get-away-with-it/ Trump secured the bond through Knight Specialty Insurance Company.

  20. Is this "Sedition"? Or some other "crime"? If so, why haven't they been charged? Seems like this will be difficult to prove. But the legal system here is fungible

  23. Thanks for cleaning that up. So in summary Disability and SSA transferred into Thailand do NOT qualify as "Assessible Income", and if these are the only funds remitted then there is no need for a TIN or to file a return. Is that correct?
  24. Thanks. My guess is that, assuming a higher disability rating, the disability payment alone, or combined with SSA, will be over 120,000 per year.
