THAI to acquire 45 Boeing 787 Dreamliners with option for 80 more
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yeah the 787 has some history. Airlines love 'em though https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Boeing_787_orders_and_deliveries Would I fly SCL-SYD on QF all 14 hrs over the southern Pacific? Preferably no. https://thepointsguy.com/news/boeing-charleston-787-dreamliner-factory-tour/ May 2021 article: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/28/us-faa-confirms-boeing-halts-787-dreamliner-deliveries-pending-approval-of-planned-inspection-method.html -

I don't think the "whinger" (you in this case) ever thinks their "statements of facts" are whinges. They are. You just lack the self-awareness to recognize it. -
THAI to acquire 45 Boeing 787 Dreamliners with option for 80 more

While I haven't seen any details on financing - this announcement was just a splash PR move at the Singapore Air SHow announcing a booking concluded last December - most of these aircraft are bought by leasing companies, and then leased to TG. I think you'll find these lasing companies are international. https://history-computer.com/the-10-largest-aircraft-leasing-companies-in-the-world-and-what-they-do/ -
Instantly create more aircraft out of thin air. Find the cash to pay for them. Manifest pilots, air crew, ground staff out of whole cloth. I'm always amazed at how poorly informed the general populace is here. Short of the government subsidizing airlines, or demanding that airline lose money, there aren't a lot of options. More people want to fly, than there are cheap seats still available.

His hair is impressively black. And his makeup looks mahvelous. -
Songkran holiday unlikely to boost outbound trips due to high airfares
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's called supply and demand. Along with some complex pricing models which drive people into higher fare buckets as the seats sell on a particular flight. As Warren Buffet said about investing in airlines...“If a capitalist had been present at Kitty Hawk back in the early 1900s he should’ve shot Orville Wright; he would have saved his progeny money.” -

You do realize this is a "whinge"? Right? -
There are a lot of great, detailed "trip reports" posted in this sub-forum. Some detail the exact documents needed, down to the ordering of the documents. A search would probably reveal helpful information. I rely on these and offer my experiences if different to help others. IMO it is better to have too many documents.

PM Srettha pledges to woo back Russian tourists with revived flights
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
As long as Russia agrees not to seize the aircraft and scavenge it for parts, the PM should feel free to reignite. TG will have to check with the lessor of the airframe for approvals and probably pony a surety/bond in the $150 - $250 million range. https://simpleflying.com/major-airlines-serving-russia-2024-list/#emirates Russia was taken by surprise when it lost 76 passenger planes due to Ukraine invasion sanctions, minister says https://news.yahoo.com/russia-taken-surprise-lost-76-153930038.html -
I'm not sure he'll get as far as he'd like. Thailand is still super ultra-conservative. The Senate will probably not approve much beyond the Democratic Party's position: The Democrats are pledging to make it easier for the LGBTQ+ community to hold Pride festivals and other events in public spaces. They are also pledging to work to prevent all types of sexual harassment and bullying, and ensure that all genders will have equal rights. The party will also encourage media outlets to report on the community without bias. MoveForward was by far the most progressive on this issue. PTP less so. Pheu Thai also supports marriage equality. It says it will promote Thailand as a global destination for LGBTQ+ tourists to stimulate tourism. It will also draft a guidebook and create an online platform to promote the rights of LGBTQ+ people. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40027525

No clue how often they adjust these? Looks like BKK-HKT round trip ceiling is 18,148 in Y? Although not sure if the list I used is current.

I'll take extra Grid thank you. Curious about what their internet connection is? Do they even get a mobile signal? -

This ejit is comparing today's price to that from four years ago. Honestly, I'm surprised these people can manage to find their way to the bathroom. Most savvy travelers, who are planning a trip around a known extended holiday like Songkran, have booked their tickets and accommodations already. -
PM urges MPC to call a special meeting to review policy rate
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
His lack of experience, cluelessness, and naivete were funny at the beginning. Now it's getting dangerous with him anywhere near the government. His comments the past few days on the economy border on irresponsible. At the very least he should appoint a well-respected Minister of Finance. -
Thaksin Has Degenerative Bones In The Neck: Pheu Thai Spokesperson
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He always has his neck turned at a significant angle, which you would think would be painful, for someone with degenerative bones in his neck. Clearly, he's not the best actor. His makeup is getting better though. -
