Based on earlier stories I thought this 600 m slush fund was already approved. Now it sounds like it has merely been proposed. The initial proposal was weak. New Minister of Tourism and Sports Sudawan Wang-Suphakitkosol has been given a ฿600 million budget to boost foreign tourism before the end of the current High Season as Thai-based airlines help the government to grow flight connectivity and arrival numbers. https://aseannow.com/topic/1309204-move-to-boost-tourism-sector-with-worrying-signals-near-the-start-of-the-country’s-high-season/

Activists Plan To Visit Thaksin At Hospital Uninvited
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
IMO they should just end this charade now. Release him to his own hospital (Praram 9), or home confinement through February 2024, which is when most predict he will be given a final release pardon. Why go through all this angst for four months? Rip the band-aid off. -
Police Chief To Find Out Whether Thaksin Feigned Illness
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
What about the privacy of medical records we keep hearing about? Is the Police Chief above this requirement? -
Yeah, this one is a pain. Previously you could click on the bell, three lines and Clear Notifications. Now three lines takes you to View All Notifications, where I cannot find a way to clear them.

90 days reporting 16 Oct
bamnutsak replied to Lorry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What is your reporting office? The OP started this thread referencing CW, where most have encountered issues with timely responses from CW. And I'm not sure that "luck" should be a determining factor? -

What is your Immigration Office? Have you ever filed a TM30? Most of us think that the changes in the regulations re: TM30 filing in 2020 removed the requirement to report returning to your address of record (via a TM30), from domestic and international trips. But the only way to be sure would be to ask at your Imm office.

Blue crime vs red crime update
bamnutsak replied to Skipalongcassidy's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Weird "report". Seem to want to drive the murder rate down to the local level, yet imply Biden is weak on crime. Stats are from 2014-2020, Biden wasn't President. County murders happen in a state. I realize someone had to rebut the red stat crime issue, but drilling down to the county? Really? That might have voted Biden? Does Biden hold some County office? Stop consuming so much Kool-Aid, it's bad for your your health. -

Additional ridership is awesome, but you can't make up for a loss with volume. So who will absorb/pay the eventual losses? More debt, somewhere, lurking. BTSC now owed ฿98Bn from BMA for the Green Line train project The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s (BMA) debt to Bangkok Mass Transit System Company (BTSC), for the engineering and maintenance (E&M) and operating and maintenance (O&M) costs for the first and second extensions of the Green Line sky train service, has now ballooned to about 98 billion baht, according to a study commissioned by the city council. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/btsc-now-owed-฿98bn-from-bma-for-the-green-line-train-project/#:~:text=The BMA and Krungthep Thanakom,O%26M costs into separate contracts. 90 days reporting 16 Oct

I kind of assume that every day would be equally busy, so not sure how you're comment is relevant or even helpful. That is to say, there is never a "good time". -
90 days reporting 16 Oct
bamnutsak replied to Lorry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can make an appointment for a 90-Day Report at CW and the process is very fast; two minutes for me. Service time is quoted at 10 minutes (duration, with an appointment). It looks like there are 36 slots each day for appointments. No open appointments for tomorrow, but several on Friday, and more farther out. 10:15 appointment cleared Counter 4 in less than a minute, Desk B66 took me as soon as she cleared her current customer. IMO it would be wise to book an appointment at -30 days (back from the end of the grace period) assuming online won't work and as a back-up. I'm surprised there are that many people queued for a 90-day report. What time did you first queue? And finish? There are runners, thrid-parties who can be seen carrying a stack of 20 - 50 passports, who can gum up the works occasionally. The Re-Entry Permit Queue must have been dreadful. -
Workers evacuated from Israel worried about their outstanding debts

section 38 app / TM 30 online registration

Section 38 mobile app is DEAD. Old website equally DEAD. New website: https://tm30.immigration.go.th/tm30/#/external/security/register/reg-web No new app. Use a browsers on your phone. https://aseannow.com/topic/1306628-tm30-new-website-address-for-filing-notifications-and-registration/ -
Yeah, I assumed you were in Pattaya or thereabouts, so would be advised to file a new TM30, assuming the one you might have now was filed BEFORE your most recent return from outside of Thailand. Registering on the new site was quite easy, as was making a new filing there. Quite a few detailed threads here which will help if you have issues. One example... https://aseannow.com/topic/1306628-tm30-new-website-address-for-filing-notifications-and-registration/ related to your area... https://aseannow.com/topic/1309151-tm30-reporting-requirement-change/

I'm not sure how much 600 m can sway foreign tourists to start making plans to visit Thailand? Over the next five months. And the mix of "programs" seems strangely convoluted, with the bulk of the funds targeted at Tourists already in Thailand. And little generation of new tourists. And saying that the 10K Digital Wallet could be used for Domestic Tourism seems odd given that program's alleged limitations (location, products). Hopefully there are some metrics so that success can be measured. Just kidding.

Four more Thais believed to have been killed in Israel, 17 held hostage
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thai workers seem to be at the whim of their "employers". Khaosod English 53 m · Twenty eight Thai workers were taken back to a danger zone less than 10 kilometres from Gaza and abandoned by their Israeli employer at a tomato farm. Pongsakorn Intaworn, 31, a native of Udon Thani province, said on Monday the employer transported them 200 kilometres away from the conflict zone on Oct 10 only to drive them back to the farm on Sunday, Oct 15 and left them there. He urges on social media for the Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv to rescue them immediately. https://www.facebook.com/KhaosodEnglish/ -

Cabinet Approves Visa Extension for Russian Tourists
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This scheme is temporary, through 30 April 2024. One assumes it may be extended? And that Russians arriving up to 30 April 2024 will get a 90 day stamp? It's not clear to me that this 90-day permission to stay can be extended?
