  1. In my state the total tax is 20%; 15% go to the state, 5% to the city/town where the sales occur. Saying it again, the Cannabis Control Board would consider additional taxes (over 7 % VAT), as the ACB/TCB do for alcohol and tobacco.
  2. Incorrect. Your list is from 2021. Cannabis is classified as a Controlled Herb, and as such all parts of the plant, including inflorescences (flower) are legal.
  3. You mean over and above 7% VAT which is currently collected and remitted to the Government by the thousands of legally licensed sales channels? I think the Cannabis Control Board might have considered additional taxes, just as the Alcohol Control Board, and the Tobacco Control Boards do. The Cannabis Control Board would be enacted by the Cannabis and Hemp Bill. More than one million Thai households registered to grow cannabis at home. Nearly 1 million people approved to grow cannabis already https://thethaiger.com/news/national/nearly-1-million-people-approved-to-grow-cannabis-already
  4. There may be a shift away from THC to Hemp and CBD, based on the Cannabis and Hemp Act being re-considered in Parliament. Currently Cannabis (THC or CBD or 1:1) is only approved as a treatment for 4 symptoms: 1) nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy 2) difficult-to-treat epilepsy 3) spasticity in multiple sclerosis 4) nervous system pain and assessed that it might benefit 6 symptoms: 1) Parkinson's 2) Alzheimer's 3) Multiple Sclerosis 4) Anxiety 5) End-stage cancer 6) Other diseases of terminally ill patients. And additional research is required in 1 case: cancer. This is of course incorrect. Cannabis Flower, regardless of THC content, was removed from the Narcotics Lists as of 9 June 2022.
  5. I'm often wrong predicting future events here. I predicted that Cannabis Flower over 0.2% THC would NOT be legalized back in June 2022. Many here predicted that it would be. I was completely WRONG. I had been predicted that there might be 5 % ~ 15 % that Cannabis flower with more than 0.2 % THC would be re-criminalized by the new government. I think I was wrong again. BJT(Wednesday) announced that they are pushing forward with the Cannabis and Hemp Act in Parliament. The focus seems to have shifted to Hemp and CBD extraction, leaving THC to probably be relegated to the Narcotics list, again.
  6. Well Prime Minister Srettha has an opening, his senior advisor Kittirat Na Ranong has been indicted. The Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) has reportedly indicted the prime minister s chief adviser, Kittirat Na Ranong, for alleged graft in selecting a local supplier for rice exports to Indonesia in 2011.
  7. Meh. Mehran Karimi Nasseri lived at CDG for 18 years, and he passed away there.
  8. Thinly attributed with a hint of speculation, and extrapolation. Would prefer a direct quote from Anutin. If re-criminalization is a done deal then get on with it NOW. Why wait six months?
  9. On the plus side, by the time this submarine is put into service the Gulf of Siam may be another one meter deeper. This should be made into a Thai serial comedy TV show. Writes itself, and it's funny, in a foolish sort of way. Feel free to add whacky sound effects.
  10. Yes, he can. Anutin, as Deputy PM and Minster of Health, issued an edict on 9 June 2022, which was published in the Royal Gazette, legalizing cannabis flower by removing it from the Narcotics Lists.. (Kratom, and Hemp too.) The PM could issue his own edict TODAY, to add Cannabis flower back onto the Narcotics Lists, and instruct the RTP which reports directly to him, to enforce this new (re-) ban.
  11. Recently. I think he was pro-cannabis a few years ago. That's my recollection anyway. And not saying folks can't change their minds either. That said, it's hardly relevant as Pita is sidelined.
  12. But he could re-criminalize Cannabis in 15 seconds, surely that can't be too taxing for him? He could even do this from NYC. Yet, he says something will be done in six months. So how pressing can the matter be if it can be pushed out six months? Not very I'd wager.
  13. Then he should immediately re-criminalize Cannabis, TODAY. I think if he were "looking out for the country" he wouldn't run off on a boondoggle eight day trip to NYC to deliver one three minute speech on the "Sufficiency Economy". Rather he would be spending his first 90 days in Thailand kicking off his government's agenda, making sure all was running well. And surely there must be more pressing problems than recreational Cannabis which many here say is not being sold, in the too many shops with no customers.
  14. It should be noted that the Government has issued thousands of licenses for retail outlets. (And for other cannabis related activities: growing, extracting...) The Government could have "controlled" the number of retail outlets by limiting the number of licenses, but they did not.
  15. But not Narcotics, in case that wasn't obvious.
  16. I think I implied as much with my statement. If only you were the PM. The PM wants to end Recreational use in six months, and wants only medical use, so that sort of indicates there will be a line, or in Thailand it would be a vast grey expanse.
  17. One Kg seems like a lot for this level dealer? I assume the police will work their way up the distribution chain on this one. /justkidding The PM is pushing the drug war message quite strongly. I would expect near daily news on busts.
  18. Cosmetic surgery, just a bit of rounding off of the four corners.
  19. Cannabis for medical use has been legal since 2017. DTAM (traditional medicine group within MoPH) controls medical cannabis. There are only a few (four) current diagnoses for which Cannabis is approved. A foreigner would have to attend a DTAM facility (located within a government hospital). You can't just swan into Bumrungrad and ask for some Fire. Yes, I'll stipulate that foreigners can access health care here, and some may be able to get cannabis, usually in the form of extracts. This medical cannabis program could be enhanced to cover more treatment/diagnoses, but that will be challenging? Who is the gatekeeper for medical cannabis? Who draws the line between real medical diagnosis and treatment vs. I need cannabis to sleep.
  20. In addition to weekends and holidays (when Imm is closed) there is a seven-day 'grace' period for filing in person, without penalty.
  21. They'll start work on this initiative in 2039.
  22. "Safety Zones". Honestly who dreams up this stuff. Having Safety Zones implies to consumers/tourists that Thailand is unsafe outside of these zones.
  23. His forte seems to be Sales. He's pedaled pre-construction units for years, like some sort of Glengary, Glenross salesman. Now he pedaling Thai sovereign units. He just can't quit. And coffee is for Closers. Thailand today: Train crashes into dumpster on fire at a level crossing.
  24. So this is a good thing? Right? No one is buying it, so no one is smoking it. Rejoice. Consuming cannabis in public where it causes an annoyance is ILLEGAL today.
  25. This has already been done. In 2017 no less. BTW, foreigners, save those few who have access to the Thai Social Safety Net, would not be eligible.
