  1. Can you elaborate on the text of this sign? In Thai and English? Just one sign propped up somewhere? Isn't the re-entry permit desk, for those wishing to purchase one at the airport, AFTER departing Immigration at Suvarnabhumi? (I understand one can have a re-entry permit in hand.)
  2. Can you share a photo of this sign? The only thing I could find is this...
  3. 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams. https://www.tops.co.th/en/kelloggs-cereal-cornflakes-500g-8852756346053 There are no-sugar corn flakes, not sure of any are imported to Thailand.
  4. AFAIK this only works for records from the previous seven days. Anything older cannot be searched for and returns data not found message. Again AFAIK, this limitation has not been addressed in the most recent updates. It is best to search for the record, locate it, and export it as a PDF for saving or printing as soon as it is filed.
  5. You can buy the postage package on line. https://www.thailandpostmart.com/product/1013460000929 If not then buy in person, use a copy of your passport, or leave the package open until paid.
  6. I know several people who renewed here over the past 90 days. All paid via pay.gov. https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/790155895/ This is for a renewal in the U.S.A.
  7. Latin word for window: fenestra even though it seems to be uniquely practiced in Russia, with close Putin associates attempting to "stick the landing".
  8. Defenestration leading to concrete poisoning or a gravity overdose.
  9. The PM knows of what he speaks, that's why he attended university in the U.S. and sent his sons to universities in the U.S. and England. The Thai educational system is working exactly as designed. Keep them dumbed down, indoctrinated, respectful of their betters, in debt, and drugged up on meth and lao khoa. Effectively changing it would require a complete restructuring of the Thai hierarchical social system. And you can forget about that ever happening.
  10. This one. Landbridge is an "idea". Silly and incompetent is a brand. Credit to "Ya Got Trouble" from the Music Man. The PM is an accidental con man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI_Oe-jtgdI
  11. More poison from Myanmar. Thailand is quietly complicit in offering trans-shipment services. Myanmar overtakes Afghanistan to become world’s leading opium producer, UN says Myanmar has become the world’s biggest producer of opium, overtaking Afghanistan after the ruling Taliban imposed a ban on poppy cultivation, according to a new United Nations report. The Southeast Asian nation produced an estimated 1,080 metric tons of opium in 2023, the highest since 2001, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) said in its report. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/12/13/asia/myanmar-worlds-leading-opium-producer-intl-hnk/ Southeast Asia Opium Survey 2023 Cultivation, Production, and Implications https://www.unodc.org/roseap/uploads/documents/Publications/2023/Southeast_Asia_Opium_Survey_2023.pdf
  12. A lot of financial services companies offer 2FA via their mobile app. (Chase and Fidelity are two that I use often.) I think WISE offers this as one easy 2FA option. We use 2-step verification when we need to confirm it's really you. The 2 steps are: Enter your password Confirm that it’s you through the Wise app on a trusted device, or enter a code you receive by text message, phone call or from your authenticator app 2-step verification methods There are 3 ways to complete 2-step verification: receive a code by text message or phone call receive a notification in the Wise app on a trusted device enter a code from a separate authenticator app https://wise.com/help/articles/2960083/what-is-step-verification
  13. The PM is selling a non-existent bridge. Transporting oil across the Thai Land-Bridge will involve a pipeline, and be incredibly inefficient. He looks silly and incompetent pushing this idea. But that's his "brand".
  14. Many, many great threads here, so a search will probably help you. One recent example: https://aseannow.com/topic/1310564-us-passport-renewal-question/ https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/instructions-for-ds-82-processing-by-mail-and-online-fee-payment-for-u-s-citizens-residing-in-thailand/ Recent first-hand reports are five to six weeks door-to-door.
  15. I doubt any investors are going to fall for this "bridge for sale" scam. Easily the stupidest idea I've seen out of Thai officials, including GT 200 bomb detectors, digital wallets, and submarines. But the PM will probably top this with another handful of idiotic ideas.
  16. AFAIK Thailand has dropped the Frigate swap and is committed to the Yuan-class S26T with the Chinese CHD620 engine. Backing out now has zero momentum.
  17. AFAIK, ThaiBev is the sole franchiser of Starbucks here through their Coffee Concepts subsidiary (with Maxim's Caterers and F&N Retail) 4,000+ employees. 465 branches. 800,000 customers per week. Year 2021, total income 6,135.81 million baht, profit 164.65 million baht Year 2022, total income 8,389 million baht, profit 833 million baht. Seems like a very positive story.
  18. This controversial temple has been flying under the radar since the sensational 23-day siege in 2017, in an attempt by the military Junta to arrest Abbot Phra Dhammajayo. He is still MIA.

  20. 7. Enable WiFi Calling. https://www.androidauthority.com/does-mint-mobile-support-wi-fi-calling-3342519/ 8. Disable Mobile Data (on the Mint Mobile eSIM.
  21. I'd take three steps Samsung TV, Settings, General, External Device Manager, Device Connect Manager, Toggle Access Notification to "Always", Device List, Select any items/devices not recognized, and toggle to "Deny". Google Account: Change Password, and enable 2FA (maybe best to use the phone as the "key" device). Home Network/Router: Change Router password, Change WiFi SSIDs (and do not Broadcast them), and change WiFi network (2.4/5) passwords.
  22. Fidelity offers fee-free (no charge) SWIFT Wire Transfers. Note that you have to set up a Standing First-Party Wire Transfer Order for each Thai account. This needs to be done in person in the U.S. at a Fidelity branch as it requires a Medallion Guarantee Stamp. I need to call in the transfer each month. Send USD (Fidelity uses JP Morgan Chase as the intermediary bank) and let Bangkok Bank do the exchange where they use their daily TT rate, less a 200 ~ 500 baht (max fee). Takes 12 - 18 hours. Any remittance gets that same TT rate. Pick up the Credit Advice Receipt monthly (if on the 65,000 Baht track), and they'll prepare a letter for Immigration summarizing the twelve Credit Advice Receipts. Fidelity also offers ATM fee rebates, usually within a few days. For ATM withdrawals you get the daily Visa rate. And their Visa Credit Card now offers 0 % foreign transaction fees. And it supports Tap&Go. I think Schwab offers similar services, maybe even more streamlined.
  23. Three steps: Register Add address file for individuals To register you'll need the GF's Thai ID card, and the Blue Book, scanned into JPGs, which you will attach/upload. Very simple. The User's Guide describes all. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/TM30EN/index.html
  24. So you are registered, and have added the property (address) but are unclear on how to file a report for an individual staying at the registered property? https://tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/TM30EN/index.html https://tm30.immigration.go.th/TM30/Foreigner/TM30EN/Notify-Residence.html
  25. This change has been announced as being "Permanent" which is significant. Most other recent "modifications" (Russia, Khazakstan, etc.) were/are temporary. A govt spokesman told media a few more details of this mutual visa-waiver program for Chinese and Thai travelers: 30 days of visa free travel, but multiple entires within 180 days (or 6 months) musn't exceed 90 days in total and an agreement will be finalized in late Feb. No word on extensions, yet.
