  1. As you very well know, I made no such comparison. I merely stated that when I think of corruption, I immediately think of my home state. Hence, you just wanted to toot your horn.
  2. When I think of corruption, I immediately think of my home state and wonder how much Uber paid those politicos under the table in Sacramento to be allowed to operate as unregulated taxis in California. The bast**ds put me out of business.
  3. The Queen's passing was not unexpected, but it is still very upsetting. I can remember as a young boy watching her coronation on television back in 1953 with my mother, sister, and aunt. I also saw the Queen in person back in 1983 when she visited San Francisco.
  4. YES! During World War Two she repaired Trucks and drove an ambulance.
  5. I have an electric cart that I drive along the Beach road in the bicycle lane and so far I haven't had any problems with the police. I should also add that these electric carts are getting very popular in my area.
  6. I'm not sure what your point is because innocent people also claim they are innocent.
  7. Hundreds of inmates have been freed from American prisons because DNA tests proved they were innocent of the crimes they were convicted of.
  8. Far more! Tobacco kills more Americans in one year than World War Two did in the three years and eight months the U.S. was involved in it.
  9. I crossed over from Morocco into Spanish Ceuta in 1963 with a fellow traveler on his motor scooter. Later, after we were well away from the border, he revealed to me the hashish he had tapped to his body. Needless to say, I read him the riot act and told him if he had been caught I would most likely have ended up going to prison right along with him. My point being, just because you know someone it does not mean you automatically know if they are involved in criminal activity.
  10. I must be missing something here because I live not too far from "Suan Son Beach" and the surf here is pretty tame. In fact, the surfing here is generally not very good---though my son said that he was able to catch some fairly decent waves yesterday on his board at Mae Ram Phueng Beach. So, I fear the good doctor may have been a poor swimmer with little experience in the surf.
  11. Don't flatter yourself, I have no personal interest in you. I'm merely challenging your argument.
  12. It's not about me, it's about your nonsensical claim that medical care is free in the U.K. for its residents there.
  13. I see....so, according to you, nobody in the United Kingdom is paying taxes because everyone there is either retired or on benefits....is that correct?
  14. REALLY??? Well, I must admit that is quite a shocker. So, if you don't mind my asking, when did British subjects stop paying income tax?
  15. No, what you said was not true! And if you can't take the heat, then stay out of the kitchen.
  16. Why would you be asking me such a question? After all, I'm not the guy who claimed people were being treated free in the UK.... every day.
  17. So, what do the doctors in the United Kingdom live on if they are treating everyone for free? Do they live in homeless shelters and panhandle for small change on the streets?
  18. No, the point was that the bulk of the trash on the beaches in Rayong was not deposited there by beach-goers. In fact, a few weeks ago the beaches here were covered with pumice, and I'm quite certain that it didn't come from around here.
  19. Most of the trash on the beaches here in Rayong comes in with the tide and originated elsewhere. In fact, some of the plastic containers that are washed up on the beach here are covered with barnacles. So, they have been at sea for quite sometime. However, that having been said, if they left some of those large blue plastic trash cans on the beach it would be helpful. In fact, I would personally be willing to help keep a certain section of beach trash-free by volunteering some time each day to picking up trash.
  20. Dirty beaches covered in litter. When I was young I used to volunteer with other members of my kayak club to collect trash on the local beaches back home.
  21. I found the U.S. Immigration officials in San Francisco to be among the most obnoxious government officials I was ever forced to deal with. In fact, I had to enlist the help of my local Congress woman (Sala Burton) at the time to help me deal them. ( I'm American but my wife was Thai and I needed to deal with her paperwork.)
