Wonder how much hooters girl get paid. Waiters
Sent from my SM-A800F using Tapatalk
A few months before they open they were running ads in the local paper recruiting girls, earn 'up to' 27,000 baht per month I think, a lot more than the usual 11-14,k in most retail jobs

In most fresh market there'll be a 'government' scale chained to a post somewhere, idea is that you can check your purchase to see that the vendor hasn't ripped you off by using a crooked scale in their stall
-
Do they have a catalog for what parts are available? I have a Black and Decker power washer too and I fancy upgrading the spray gun from the higher models
-
Had a cheap one from Homeworks (Next to BigC South)
Same one is also sold in Thai Wassadu
Can't remember the price but around 160-180 without the gas can
Mine broke after a few use though
-
The TRD Tuna price just made the Everest price justifiable now,
on a side note, some Ford dealers are now offering free scheduled service plan (3/5 years frees servicing, not sure if extended warranty is included or not) on the lesser trims everest and rangers now

.
However, in the region of Soi Watboon there is a team of what looks like "army" guys ?? on a major drain cleaning operation. The are using high pressure water jetting through the drains in a vain attempt to clear them....best of luck lads - you will need it.
Most likely prisoners earning their good behavior credit

That's some cheap pies, even the locally made ones I see around are 70-80 baht, and they don't move fast enough so it's frozen most of the time,
Not saying it's okay that it poisoned you of course,

If the debts aren't causing a problem with your cash-flow then I would not worry too much about them. If they are causing a problem with your cash-flow, and if they are a significant amount, then you can apply to have the unit sold to pay the debts. The threat of this should be enough to make most defaulting co-owners pay up.
No you cannot. Please indicate which law you are referring to where you believe this is a possibility?
Yes, you can. I know several buildings that have done it.
It's not a law, it's pursuing a debt.
So you are saying, that you know several buildings, that for unpaid common fees and utilities they have been able to sell someones unit to reclaim unpaid monies?
I simply dont believe it. Please tell me a building where this has happened?
There have only been a handful of unpaid debt cases which have reached the highest courts, where debts were often millions and millions of baht, and no court has ever ordered or allowed a Committee/Juristic Person to try and sell someones unit for unpaid expenses.
In order to be able to liquidate someone's asset to pay of their debt, that would means that the court needed to declare that person bankrupt, no?
If they're so broke that they're able to be declared bankrupt, there might be other debtors in line before the juristic person get their cut... I doubt it's practical to go that far

I think you are talking about ARAI helmets.
No you're wrong i'm talking about AIROH brand http://pandarider.com/Panda/Product_Helmets_Airoh.htm but i don't know where is the Pattaya dealer ?
HJC Thai brand look good and cheap http://www.kamixshop.com/index.php?lang=en
Mityon get some of their helmets and jackets from Panda Rider, their accessories shop next to the Kawasaki Showroom on Sukhumvit between South and Central used to have them, maybe there's some old stock available still.
Upstairs in their headquater on corner of 3rd road and South road stock a lot of apparel too I think

How much is a Rabbit card ?
and where do you get it and refill it ?
thanks
BTS Skytrain stations, Bangkok Bank also have some debit card with integrated rabbit card too
Cost 300 baht to get, you get initial 100 baht credit with it and a deposit of 50 back if you stop using it,
you can refill it at the McDonalds and some shops that accept it too
It only makes sense if you need to travel on the skytrain, when using it at junk food places that accept it it doesn't seem to be any more convenient than cash, the occasional discount like the 20%off at McDonalds is hardly worth the trouble of getting one just to use in Pattaya
at least for a fee of 150 the card doesn't expire, unlike the 7-11 'members' card
I think for the Bankok Bank one you can top it up online or at the ATM too, so that might be a tad more convenient than having to go to physical place to top it up, so when opening accounts with Bangkok bank and they make you choose between various rip-off debit card, at least the rabbit one has some use
-
Most of the MacDonald's seem to have only 1 rabbit terminal only, what happens when you queue at the wrong till? and also at the drive through? When I used mine I make sure to queue at the right terminal to avoid inconveniencing other people behind me,
Looks like rabbit card will be depreciated when the common ticketing card 'MangMoom (Spider)' that can be used on both the BTS and MRT underground (and possibly the expresways) comes online later this year

on the side of the bus it's written in Thai too, the only one I see is the route 5 CharoenratPattana Village to Najomtien, having been in Pattaya for almost 10 years now, I never figured where the village is,

there's a shooting range downstairs at Tiffany's show (Yes, the ladyboys show theater) on 2nd road

Lay's is nicely done though
But most case where a Thai word try to appear English, it ended up horribly
-
I've seen people refer to certain products by a strange name, like the บรีส detergent here
Some people called it USA....
Have you seen case of any other where due to choice of font, Thai words appear English

My first post - I didn't want it to be negative, but would like to know if anybody else has experienced any similar reactions from any Pattaya taxi meter driver.
On the 21st December, last year, I was trying to cross Second Road with my wife. As we were about to cross, a red and yellow taxi (registration number available) stopped in front of us, preventing us from crossing. I politely told the driver that we didn't want a taxi and asked him to move. After the driver had spat out few choice phrases in Thai, he shouted, "**** off", and sped off down the road.
Yesterday, I was driving along Sukhumvit road, through some traffic lights. A blue and yellow taxi (registration number available), obviously in the wrong lane as he wanted to go straight on, tried to pull in front of me; that would be an understatement as he almost side-swiped me. I jammed on my brakes and hooted him to let him know I was there. He managed to push his way in behind me, came up on my inside, opened his window, shouted, "**** you", and sped off weaving in and out of the traffic.
I imagine taxi driving must be quite a stressful job, especially in and around Pattaya, but surely a few manners wouldn't go amiss.
Just another blow for tourism. When will it end!
Well, at least his English training works perfectly,

There's a newly opened Bangkok bank on Central Road, east of Big C Extra, just walk towards Foodland, Its on the same row of buildings as the SS hotel and Ducati Dealer, being recently opened, they're on a drive for new customers and new accounts, they're sure to overlook/smooth over some requirements as they're getting into shape

I think it reads "FESTIVAL" and "9th NORTHEAST SEASON" with 'season' being spelt out in transliteration.
"Seeson" just means colourful, not transliteration of Season,

'Nai Din' Sam Yan style fish balls/dumpling noodle soup
On northbound Sukhumvit opposite the Highway Police between Central and South rd.
Just after the corner Soi Sukhumvit Pattaya 46
I think I found it:
the Thai open-air restaurant opposite FORD on west-side Suk on the racetrack (U-Turns thread)
Can't pronounce the name but Thai wife, family and many friends recommend & enjoy most dishes. I especially like the spicy squid but there's never anything left whatever they order
This one?
Great idea OP but please confirm if that location is correct and is it the one with the blue/white striped awning in the pic?
If it is northbound on Suk then presumably coming from Pattaya South and before Central...........
Yes, the location in streetview is correct, at night it'll be the only shop open on that row
-
Do you know the number for emergency services? can you successfully give your location / direction to the location over the phone?
If you can give first aid, please do,
If the accident happens right in front of you, by all means stop and see if the local motorcycle taxi has radioed in help

Over the years, restaurants thread on the Pattaya forum seem to have developed a theme for what's notable and deserving of custom.... Indian, 'Proper' Chinese and other unique cuisine at the neglect of the ordinary and humdrum.
So, here's a thread about the restaurants you wouldn't write home about, yet you do give them repeat customs.... Maybe it's Thai food, the local noodle joint, chicken rice or 'thai' Chinese like Lengkee and such... so that although the restaurant may not deserve a trip to visit on its own, but if a fellow member is in the area should they be in the area on errands and such.... they could drop in for a meal.
I'll start with
'Nai Din' Sam Yan style fish balls/dumpling noodle soup
On northbound Sukhumvit opposite the Highway Police between Central and South rd.
Just after the corner Soi Sukhumvit Pattaya 46
Teochew/Thai noodle with fish balls, fish dumpling and fish noodles, along with the standard fare various rice noodles in clear soups with options of Tom Yum and Yen Ta Four soup.
The fish noodle/dumpling/balls are home made (the skin of the dumpling / noodle are made with the same 'surimi' fish meat as the fish ball)
Also available is Geom Ee+ (thick, short noodle like the one pictured) which are increasing rare find in noodle shops these days
The
restaurantnoodle shop opens late, and is advisable to visit them in the evening, the shophouse nextdoor is doing some fiberglass/resin business and smells very noxious during the dayNoodle shop with this type of noodles/cuisine maybe a dime a dozen in Thailand, but this one is made with care

What does TMN stand for? True move network?
TipMaNee - Thai name, nothing to do with true
-
Simpler explanation is that maybe they're on certain medication or chemicals that makes them oblivious to potential passengers on the side of the road

On the 19th last year, since the underpass construction on Central/Sukhumvit Junction, the queuing of traffic as they filter into narrowing roads going south, uphill towards south Pattaya, and also on the other side heading north around the Bangchak petrol station, impromptu water fights on cars seem to have developed into full-blown war zones making traffic stand-still, and once you managed to go past the idiots, the traffic is clear....
normally on Sukhumvit, there wouldn't be much fighting and the traffic would crawl along, but the past year it's gotten really bad.
It used to be that even before 10-11Am nobody's even woken up yet and you could get your groceries shopping done if you leave town before everything kicks off
The fact that the 19th falls on a Tuesday might means out of towners wouldn't turn up as much, but it's still a school holiday....
Oh, another fact that's not been mentioned before.... the newspaper agent in Naklua would limit their deliveries to homes and shops on the 18th and 19th, making just the morning one only and not at all, so even if you managed to go to your usual shops, expect no or less than usual newspaper
