Most of the Homeworks locations in Bangkok has closed already, There's like 2 left, the locations in good middle class surburbs like Bang Na or Rangsit is gone, looks lilke Central has vacated the higher end of the DIY market to HomePro
Thai Wassadu is no direct replacement, their higher end stuff like power tools or electrical gadgets is lacking, while the price is a lot cheaper than HomePro
But I do see an expanded DIY section within Central's department stores now, albeit with unacceptable price

The second Pattaya Marathon of the year.......isn't it?
The one earlier was a Triathlon I think

to be fair, that section of the road look closed to traffic, with the albeit sparse placement of the concrete blocks and all, the driver here thinks he can outsmart the rest of the schmuck waiting in line by overtake/undertaking all of them using the under construction road... serves him right

"the collapse of the wooden home built on pillars about 30 meters offshore by Leab Chay Beach Road."
Hope that doesn't spoil your day too much.
According to the navy, anything below the shoreline is theirs right? Unless those houses has been previously on land and the sea eroded leaving them like that, I don't see how that whole neighborhood could have a legal title

and the whole neighborhood is probably encroaching on public/government land

Surely it's only a matter of time. I wonder if people will be mindless enough to park there. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
There had already been posts in Thai social media about rich kids parking their car in the middle of the tunnel to take a picture, in the middle of the night maybe but still.
Also noticed that the motorcycle gangs are noticing that they can get twice their money's worth if they rev their engine in the tunnel, and is now attracting lots of them at time

While I agree that the testing standards for motorcycles in this country is quite lacking, resulting that riders are unable to brake in an emergency or know have lane discipline and is able to ride safely, a 110cc honda wave is able to out accelerate most cars on the road to 90kph quite easily, but the majority of the riders don't and doesn't have the necessary skills to conduct themselves safely on the roads, and thus excluded from riding in tunnels and overpass bridges and expressway where there are no hard shoulders and such.
Is it fair that we hold a whole section of the road using population in lower regards?
I ride motorcycles myself, and next year with the introduction of toll for the highway 7 extension all the way to Pattaya, I'd be a lot inconvenienced by no longer being able to (illegally) ride on the highway 7 to Chonburi. But I still agree with motorcycles bans on expressways and motorways for now. Bridges and Underpass.... in Bangkok on some overpass, the police see sense to not prosecute motorcycles riders.
What Thailand needs is another licence category for motorcycles riders, high power 'big bikes' definitely

I concur with ประกาศนียบัตรบัณฑิต
I have not seen อนุปริญญาโท used, only อนุปริญญา for less than undergraduate certificate,

Can anyone think of any logical reason why Motocycles cannot use the tunnel ?
The road has an 80kmh speed limit, a speed which any motorcycle and readily achieve... I just don't understand why motorcycles of any type would be prevented from passing through the tunnel.
Some of these road regulations seem to exists simply because they exist elsewhere...
... 'The Five Monkeys in a Cage' scenario...
... The most damaging phrase "Its always been done like that" which kneecaps any intelligent logic or argument...
The law preventing motorcycle from using tunnels and overpass was from an age where the mopeds of the '60s would be lucky if it could push pass 40.
but you do see some idiots that ride slowly about 30kph clogging up the road and filtering through traffic unsafely

News reports from last night said that the ventilator fans were not working and the tunnel were flooded with fumes. With all the carbon monoxide and stuff, there won't be many motorcycles rider left after they entered the tunnel
-
Highway police is conveniently located just south of the tunnel, it's easy pickings in Bangkok where they just set up camp after the tunnel or overpass to nab the motorcycles

Do these 'puns' work on Thai native speakers?
I am not sure that native speakers would accept ว่าย = ไว้่ย, เก้า = ก้าว those two seem on a parเก้า / ก้าว homophones is how the number nine become to be regarded as auspicious in Thailand as in ก้าวหน้า

I then have to assume that Mrs. วันเพ็ญ is the poorest teacher and that the เฮามัด one makes sense as well, so will somebody tell me how?
Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
because she only has 'one pen'
The one about ข้าวต้มมัด which is rice wrapped in leaves and tied, hence the name. 'how much' was asked by the farand and in Issan, it is construed as 'I/you tied it?' to which the kid replied, 'no I didn't my mom tied it'

If you went to Government hospital, they'd get get your address or where you think you might have been bitten and there would be a crew out fumigating the drain pipes and everything in the area.
A couple of years back I had dengue and went to Memorial but I wasn't asked about my address, a few days after someone else in the soi must have had it and went to government hospital cause city hall was out fumigating the next day

I can only managed to recall the bilingual ones...
On a visit to an in laws house in Isaan, they all went out to celebrate, once they arrived at the restaurant the son in law from Bangkok got out of the car as the father in law back the vigo into the car parking space... 'are we there yet?' the father in law asks... "บ่อ" yelled the son in law... repeats a few more time and after frenetic and repeated cry of บ่อๆๆๆ by the son in law, the family vigo is now in pond

Which teacher is the poorest in the school?
Mrs. วันเพ็ญ

How long does the typical inmates stay in Soi 9? I understand it's only a holding cells for the station right? couple of days? weeks? or are there many who couldn't post bail and has to stay there until proper sentencing to get sent to actual prison on the dark side?

There's already a decent park up on the mountain

The section in front of Foodland and Harbor mall was dug up since Tuesday, some conduits were laid in and covered up with concrete and is all finished with no trace of it ever happened since this afternoon.
Looks like they'll pull the cable through later.
If they managed to keep going in small section like this, maybe it'd be finished on time with minimum disruptions

There's a rear entrance to areca lodge that is on the street behind the avenue shopping mall that's quite away from the 'red lights'
-
I've seen fencing business that buys up whole aircraft to melt down and make aluminium fencing in their yard quite often
-
This has nothing to do with utility and telephone wires, the mess of cables on the side of the streets will remain for now, this dig is only for high powered transmission to the PEA facility only, if they were to properly put everything underground, there will be a lot more mess with god knows how many providers of cable TVs and internet these days hanging on the poles
Baht Bus drivers asking for more than 10 baht
in Pattaya
Posted
I can see that it is fair to charge the extra 10 baht if the northbound bus 'terminates' at Klang and turn back down beach road, if you want to continue on, hop off and walk across the street to catch the klang-north and naklua section, call it another route if you will...
heck you can even make the driver/purse lady collect all the 10 baht before klang and makes it clear that if the bus were to continue on, you'll be charged another 10
