Watched one from BBC iPlayer which I hadn't seen in years and thought it was excellent:- "Cape Fear" and Robert de Niro was great. So pleased that I watched it again!

Oh dear, yet another one comes out of the woodwork..........Conspiracy theorists of the world unite as you possibly have a new "leader".
What on earth makes these people believe in this nonsense??

Why do they think 1.1 billion dollars to pay for "hurt feelings" is justified ?
in any case he won't be paying that stupid amount for the simple fact he does not have the money.
By your reply I can see that I am dealing with another "conspiracy theorist", so if you care to do a bit of research you will see that this idiot has made millions/billions from people like you – – down the rabbit hole you go.
And where on earth you conjured up that "hurt feelings" phrase from, shows that you are well and truly in the same league as this idiot.

Alex Jones has talked about it for a long time.
There have been mainstream media reports about "ideas" to block the sun with chemicals sprayed into the upper atmosphere to combat the "global warming" "climate change"
"catastrophe"
Anyone who starts a post mentioning the name Alex Jones, is sure to be ridiculed one way or another, just the same as he was when he went online to say that the Sandy Hook massacre was a government con job and that no one was killed.
Some of his nut job followers, believing the nonsense he wrote, actually visited the grieving parents of those who were killed, banging on their doors demanding to see these "so-called" dead people.
Fortunately sanity prevailed and he was found guilty and was ordered to pay around $1.1 billion in damages. The guy is a dangerous nut job/conspiracy theorist and should be locked up for a long time.

The Police have found a large number of dead crows on the motorway early this morning, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu.
A Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu.
The cause of death appeared to be from vehicular impacts.
However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws.
By analysing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with motorbikes, while only 2% were killed by cars.
The investigators then hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorbike kills versus car kills.
The Ornithological Behaviourist quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger.
They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout “bike"

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it's worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went unnoticed last week.
Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Kokey", died peacefully at the age of 83.
The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in……………and it all went downhill from there!!

Vaccine-skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says that in 2010 he began experiencing memory loss and became concerned about a brain tumor; doctors later found a dead parasite in his brain…..this type of parasite lived on active brain matter, but died of starvation.

A WOMAN HAD BEEN ON THE GAME FOR 4 YEARS AND WAS WORRIED
ABOUT THE SIZE OF HER FANNY ON HER WEDDING NIGHT SO SHE DECIDED
TO TELL HER HUSBAND SHE CAUGHT IT CLIMBING OVER A FENCE.
AFTER AN HOUR IN BED WITH HER HE SAID "HOW FAR ACROSS THE FIELD
WERE YOU BEFORE YOU REALISED IT WAS CAUGHT?"

Without a proper (good) lawyer, and checking all the boxes, with one misstep, your entire estate gets through into limbo, or worse, lost/taken from you.
Even with a "proper/good lawyer" things are not always as they seem, as a friend of mine found out when he lost his Villa because the Thai lawyer resold it in his absence, and when he took the lawyer to court, the court ruling was that because my friend had purchased the Villa through the nominee route, then he had broken the law and the whole deal was nullified and he got nothing.

Walk around Bangkok or Pattaya and every second shop it seems was selling cannabis, although they seemed to lack customers. What a waste of investment and energy on this "faux' legalisation of cannabis....a cluster***k from start to finish.
I believe that many people will lose a lot of money on this, especially if the number of shops selling weed here in Patong is anything to go by, because it would seem that just about every other shop is selling the stuff.
I heard of a couple of guys who set up little "cannabis farms" to grow it and sell it to the shops.......going to be a lot of sad people out of pocket IMO.

A few chuckles to brighten your day!!
A wise person once said:
1. We all love to spend money buying new clothes but you should stop
and realize that the best moments in life are enjoyed without clothes.
2. Having a cold drink on a hot day with a few friends is nice,
but having a hot friend on a cold night after a few drinks - priceless.
3. Breaking News: Condoms don't guarantee safe sex anymore.
A friend of mine was wearing one when he was shot dead by the woman's husband.
4. Arguing over a girl's bust size is like choosing between
Molson, Heineken, Carlsberg and Budweiser.
Men may state their preferences but will grab whatever is available.
5. A recent study found that women who carry a little extra weight
live longer than the men who mention it.
6. On average, a British man under 75 will have sex two to three times a week,
whereas a Japanese man the same age will have sex only one or two times a year.
This is very upsetting news to many of my friends,
as they were unaware that they were Japanese!- 2

I've just watched season 1 of Ripley and it was very good IMHO. It was recommended by @oxo1947 earlier in this topic.
I enjoyed the movie, "The Talented Mr Ripley" as I especially like Matt Damon and thought he was excellent in the movie, so I may well have a look at this series as much time has passed and I'm often in the mood for watching movies I watched previously.
On that note, I downloaded and watched "Kursk" last night and enjoyed it (again).

Whilst the terrorist leaders luxuriate in their penthouses in Dubai, the Palestinians, for whom they are supposed to be responsible (to a certain extent) are being punished on just about every front – – why? Because of Hamas hate of Israel and that hatred seems to have no bounds, all the while using Palestinian people as shields for their murderous activities.
And whilst these "peace talks" are going on, Hamas still seeks to further this conflict by killing IDF soldiers, thereby signalling their intent to continue this hatred, come what may.
It would seem obvious that Hamas leaders lack intelligence or even common sense, because if they had any they would have realised the consequences of their actions on October 7 could be disastrous. I look forward to the day when Hamas is completely wiped out, one way or another.

I've got 2 absolutely mint Tag Heuer watches both F1 which franky are sitting in boxes unworn
One watch I've worn 5 times in three years (funerals weddings) and the other just once lol in same period
They are sat in secure drawer frankly doing nothing ! Whilst not high end designer watches per se both are 23% more expensive new today for identical watch
Someone in another post suggested Facebook, and I have an antique (40 years old) Eterna (Swiss) quartz solid 9 karat gold wristwatch which I don't wear these days, but I have no idea as to its current worth, and I doubt if I would find out even if I put it on Facebook.
Like yours, mine is sitting in a drawer doing nothing apart from looking quite lovely. I did wear it for a few years, but it has been sitting idle since I acquired a stainless steel watch, along with the bracelet.
Perhaps I'll get my act together and look around a bit more. Good luck with yours.

Having just watched the miniseries, "John Adams" and how the United States was formed after breaking away from the yoke of tyranny by the British, I wonder what he and his "Founding Fathers" would have thought about trump and his goobers trying to overthrow democracy in 2021 – – unbelievable that such a thing could happen, and I would agree with the poster when he said, "something seriously wrong with Uncle Sam".

After Nearly a Decade of Trump, America is Fatigued and Anxious

Love your posts because you deal in FACTS, which are anathema to the trump supporters, but perhaps the worst is yet to come IF trump prevails in the next election.....read on:-
Economists forecast $800b annual hit from new Trump tariffs
Donald Trump’s economic policies will disproportionately hit America’s poorest households, which will pay the biggest chunk of a $500 billion-a-year (NZ$818b) burden should the Republican nominee win and introduce tariffs on all US imports, according to Peterson Institute economists.
Trump plans to impose a 10 per cent levy on all US imports and a 60 per cent tax on goods coming from China. The tariffs will fund his plans to extend a series of tax cuts, which he introduced while president in 2017, beyond 2025.
The Washington-based think-tank’s research, published on Monday, said both policies were “sharply regressive tax policy changes, shifting tax burdens away from the well-off and towards lower-income members of society”.

AND………………Trump Media and Technology Group posts more than $490m net loss in first public quarter.
So the poor will suffer (refer to the first article), not that it bothers Donny, and his latest business foray is a disaster.........and some still think he is a whizz kid. He is a lying, crooked dolt of the first order, and some.
