  1. It’s clear that these individuals are targeting you (just as they did with Mike) and are intentionally disrupting the forum, with no real effort being made to address it. Unfortunately, their responses technically comply with the forum's inadequate rules (I’ll probably get banned for saying this, but oh well). Honestly, why would a closed forum, as I’ve suggested, be out of the question?
  2. In light of persistent disruptions from certain posters that require moderators to intervene with warnings and bans, I propose that esteemed contributors like 'Dogmatix', 'Mike Lister', and 'chiang mai' advocate for the creation of a 'closed' forum on Aseannow, similar to one once moderated by 'cherryl' (Women related). Initially open to all, this forum would swiftly restrict disruptive posters—after three strikes—from posting, while allowing them to continue reading threads. This measure, crucial for maintaining decorum and relevance on important topics such as taxes, warrants serious consideration. It could also attract past and new contributors weary of perpetual conflicts and disruptions. Those disrupters could then create their own tax forum if they wish...
  3. Sadly, some so-called expats with a non-immigrant visa irrespective of the extension believe they're entitled to more than they actually are, failing to realize they're essentially on a 12-month tourist extension. Adding to this misguided sense of entitlement, they even demand voting rights in Thailand simply because their extensions have been approved for a few consecutive years. It never seems to occur to them to do their homework before entering into relationships or building homes, without considering their own legal status in this wonderful country. Assuming intellectual superiority simply because they come from the West with great football teams is both futile and misguided.
  4. Responding to this would only take the discussion further off-topic and away from the point of this thread.
  5. The author of a post is far less important than the information being conveyed. Most evaluate posts based on their content and facts, not on who wrote them. Making assumptions about the author’s identity, especially when the post is accurate and well-written, is a clear attempt to derail the discussion. Frankly, it’s getting tiresome.
  6. Other posters like 'stat' seems to think we're all impressed by his self-proclaimed title of "consultant." It's just another case of an overblown ego and arrogance.
  7. Aren't drugs such as Viagra and Cialis relatively expensive?
  8. First, consider the size of your estate—few lawyers would risk getting into trouble over what they consider trivial sum of money or assets. Second, you don’t necessarily need a lawyer to serve as an executor. Third, you can draft a Will yourself, with DIY kits readily available online. In Thailand, I believe pre-printed forms are also available at your local Amphur office. To the best of my knowledge, Wills written only in Thai are recognized by Thai courts before probate is granted.
  9. Watching too many bad movies can cloud your thinking. You're talking about conspiracy, which is a serious crime in any country.
  10. That’s why it’s crucial to word your Will carefully, wisely, and most importantly, in a way that eliminates any ambiguities.
  11. To ensure checks and balances, consider appointing co-executor(s) (e.g. your wife or anybody else who you think you can trust) and clearly outlining in your Will the specific expectations you have following your passing.
  12. Re: mini computers I am on Q4OS, any mini computers available with DOS operating systems (without preinstalled Windows)?
  13. You don’t have to feel unwell to be at risk. High cholesterol and hypertension are often painless. A stroke doesn’t give any warning—it’s sudden, and in many cases, it can be deadly.,
  14. Colonel, Thailand does not issue a 'Retirement Visa'—it never has! The best option is to come to Thailand on a tourist visa. Once in Thailand, open a bank account and deposit THB 800K or more. Then, go to the immigration office and apply for a 'Non-Immigrant Visa Category O'. Once you have this visa, you can apply for a 12-month 'Extension Based on Retirement' within 90 days. If you plan to travel overseas during that time, I recommend applying for a multiple re-entry permit as well. Good luck!
  15. My wife and I have always had a soft spot for the island. It was my first choice for settling down, but unfortunately, that never came to pass. We haven't visited in several years but have fond memories of a restaurant diagonally opposite Cookies Hotel, run by a Belgian (if I recall correctly). We enjoyed great food there, like green mussels, French onion soup, and pizza. In the evenings, the owner would play bass guitar with his small band. We're planning to visit the island for a holiday before the end of the year.
  16. Grass-fed obviously. This should balance the enhanced cholesterol level and increase the the levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which can help offset the cholesterol found in the yolk.😀
  17. This would enhance the already high cholesterol level in egg yolks...

  19. I was looking at these systems during my time in Micronesia but never got around to obtaining one. However, I know for a fact that the high-pressure systems work effectively.
