  1. You already know the answer to your question. No receipt was to be offered. 🙂
  2. Even in the sticks, they make up the rules as they go along. This was an office that was known to be helpful but now they are like all the rest. 200 baht administration charge as local office policy to transfer stamps from old passport to new even though it is quite clear that this is a free service. Shouldn't really be surprised but still it is unfortunate. A heads up to all who live in the province.
  3. Just go to their office and request a card. It's a simple procedure and takes only moments. Best to take a Thai as the form is in the local language. The person usually fills your details in for you once you present your passport and gets you to sign the form. Time from application to receiving card - a few weeks. Did you get your lump sum yet?
  4. 2500 baht front and rear together on Lazada. 200 to fit. Rear only 1450 baht on Lazada. Have a look.
  5. Substitute the light for the opportunity to make money and be corrupt here in Thailand and this clip pretty much sums up the whole country.
  6. Right back ay yeh. Merry Xmas Sir. :)
  7. I was completely with you, until you typed this. :)
  8. No real life experiences from anyone so far ... I will keep looking. :) Great business idea for anyone to open a brick & mortar store with lots of accessories for motorcycles/scooters. There are none in my province. :(
  9. But for how long? They will prob disband it soon.
  10. Just buy a Givi box. Bracket and box 3500. Mount 1000 on Lazada. Mine looks good on my ADV350.
  11. Got my 350 last week and now looking for accessories to add. Already have a top box and rack and now looking for things like a drinks holder and such. Any suggestions and links where to buy from those of you who have this Honda model. Many thanks in advance for any inputs. Have a great Xmas. :)
  12. Is it the new model that looks like a Filano ?? Wife had to wait 1 month.
  13. Bought her a new Honda scooter & bought myself a Honda ADV 350. :) Merry Xmas all.
  14. Let's take bets on how long it takes the usual suspect to pounce on this post and feed us with reems of studies from the CDC, WHO and others about how dangerous it really is. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ........
  15. I think it has been clear for some time that most of these projects are just siphoning money away to be divided up later. This is a move that will make him incredibly unpopular with all the corrupt politicians out there in the land of smiles. Good for him. As long as he doesn't piss it away on another stupid scheme that is. :)
  16. Seems like a responsible mother to me. Quote from main story ..... At the time, the mother explained that she had not used the money for her personal use and didn't want to let the daughter piss the money away on a PCX motorbike at 100,000 baht and a new smart phone. Typical teenager who wants to spend the money now and worry about everything else later.
  17. I am 100% sure. Yes, a foreigner married to a Thai lady who works for government can piggyback BUT not the stepfather of a daughter by marriage.
  18. NO. You must be her 'real' father to qualify. Otherwise it would be a free for all with foreigners marrying Thai ladies with sons and daughters with equal perks. Sorry. If you are still allowed to work here, take a teaching position for 15 months in a public school. You will enter the system after 3 months and then when you have completed a year, you can quit and keep paying into the SS fund.
  19. I believe she declined stating that no amount of money would replace the loss of her child.
  20. You seem pretty sure - thank you. Do you have experience or a source for such a thing? Many thanks for any feedback.
  21. I have an inheritance coming soon - hopefully settled before the new year. There will be no inheritance tax taken in the UK as it is below the threshold - about 40k GBP. The inheritance tax for Thailand is only liable if receiving over 100 million baht. Will I have to pay tax on this? Many thanks for any answers.
  22. You had me until the 'rubber loaf tin' - explain please. ????
  23. That's a substantial cash cow just thrown away to get his end away. In a country where you can rent ladies for the night, it is sooooo stupid.
  24. Many thanks.
