  1. Had the suspected poisoning 3 days ago now. ( I posted further down). I'm still not feeling so good, gas/ burping and strange / slight abdominal pains. Left and right under rib cage. As I'm going on holidays on the 4 March to Koh Chang for 8 days , and Bangkok for 3 days before flying home, I'm wondering if I shouldn't see a gastroenterologist , I'm in Pattaya now. I'm a bit worried about going to an island which only has a small clinic.Maybe I'm being too fast in assuming something as its only 3 days ? But just in case it's not completely better in the next two days ( could be gall bladder ???) could anyone give me the name of a good gastroenterologist here in Pattaya , in case it's something bad and I need to cancel and go home to France.thank you all , and Sheryl, for your good advice.

  2. Hi, yesterday evening came back home after eating out ( chicken and veg in well known pub) within 60 minutes I was having terrible pain in my upper abdomen( stomach?) and pain radiating through to my back.i took some anti spasmodique tablets which didn't help. 2 hours later the pain was absolutely unbearable, so I called a taxi which took me to Pattaya Memorial. There the doctor gave me a shot for pain, and said I had probably food poisoning. I had no nausea or vomiting. My blood pressure was 125 and I was shivering , belching, and trembling. ( I did go to the toilet normally before going to the hospital twice which is rare for me evenings) The back pain was very bad too. I lay there for a few hours , and at 3 am they told me to pick up my medicines and go home. I did feel much better. Today I looked up the treatment which is Norfloxacin 400 which is a antibiotique that I really do not like the sound of !!! I took one this morning before checking. Otherwise there's an antispasmodic, + Mirax for nausea and vomiting ( I don't ) and an electrolyte powder for beverage. I m not sure I have food poisoning as no nausea diarrhoea and vomiting and where does the back pain come in ? What should I do ? Wait a while ? I feel lots better. Should I go to a better hospital to have a CBC ( complete blood count) and urine tests in case it's pancreas problems or gall stones ?? Thank you very much.

  3. It would take more than money to boost phukets image ! Very bad press all over the world. When people ask if I still go to Thailand and Phuket ,they say that , "shame, it's spoilt, all rip off merchants from the airport arrival to departure. "Anyhow, it's too late, the damage has been done. Over built, no infra structure, the sea water once pristine is now polluted, taxi thugs, thieving youths on motorbikes, and the most dangerous roads that you have to take to get from one beach to another.Death Pass Island as a new name comes to mind. All that plus , the Thai charm just isn't there anymore

  4. You would have to be very naive , or stupid, to go to a go go bar and not know the consequences. These two teachers should have known better. Pattaya , especially Walking Street, has a world wide reputation, so I don't think they could plead ignorance. While I completely condem any violence ( the staff should have accompanied the woman to the atm, or called a tourist police to explain) I don't think they have any excuse to make a fuss. Surely, after all one sees in Thailand, a foreign woman should know how to behave ?
