  1. It is for me. Had accounts at Bangkok Bank for ten years since retiring here. Absolutely no problems whatsoever.
  2. How can a Government Minister set specific figures for tourists?? He has no say whatsoever into how many will come, if they do with all the tourism traps here!
  3. I have written this before in a thread similar to this a couple of years ago. I had a stoma hernia repair at Prachuap Khiri Khan hospital. Not private! The op plus 4 nights came to less than a Thai, from our village who had the same op and stayed for 3 nights! Work that one out! Have had sterling service from the two private hospitals in Chumphon over the years and now the same at Bangkok Hospital, Hua Hin. No sign of different price tiers.
  4. I may well be wrong but it looks like there is some form of culvert under the road. Has the heavy rainfall caused the waters to wash away the road base, therefore causing the collapse?

You must be joking!! Have a look in Bangkok! Absolutely rife with graffiti. All over shutters and walls. Noticed it all on Sunday whilst in a taxi from Bang Khae to Bangkok Hospital. Hua Hin, where I live, also has its fair share as well with “The Eye” everywhere, thanks to Jo, amongst other graffiti.
  6. Yes. I have a joint account with my wife at Bangkok Bank. I also have a separate account in my name only for Immigration.
  7. This is exactly what I did when I bought a new phone even though I kept my number. Much easier this way.
  8. From what I have seen, this was caused by water, probably from a burst main, that has liquified the soil. This has then somehow made its way into the underground station and then into the tunnels. This is where the soils has gone! Which means that the next question is, how did this all manage to get into this station and then into the tunnels? Another construction fault??
  9. Been there and done this. Accidentally paid a house deposit from my 810k THB immigration account instead of day to day expenses account of 50kTHB within the 3 month period from extension of stay. Righted the error within an hour or so. Went the next year to renew my extension with the yearly statements of my immigration account and pass book. Nothing was said! This was at Hia Hin Immigration Office.
  10. In fact in an accident I was involved in, the opposite was true! 2 lads on a bike tearing down the wrong side of the road did not see me indicating to turn right. Piled into my offside front wing and one flew over the bonnet. Luckily no injuries. Police and my insurance assessor attended and then off to the local police station. The lad driving the bike was 14, unlicensed, no insurance, no helmet, took the bike without permission! Police judged him at fault, I was exonerated of any blame. The assessor went with the lads to their house where the parents were no faced with around a 90kTHB bill! I have no idea how this bill was settled.
  11. Flew beginning of June, Business Class, BKK-LHR-BKK and the food was excellent. Could not fault at all combined with superb onboard service.
  12. Bearing in mind TIT, perhaps it would be better to actually train all emergency drivers in emergency driving as is done in the West. As opposed to any johnny come likely getting behind the wheel after driving around in his low slung, smoke belching pickup! Then getting overwhelmed by his flashing lights and multi tone sirens! I know, there is nobody to train them!!!
  13. Thank you. I have never heard of this or know anything about it. Worth looking into.
  14. Yes, I could move to another network but that means a number change. One I have had for 10 years and many things linked to it. A great deal of hassle and running around to notify everybody. Thanks anyway.
  15. Went into True today to change my package on Postpaid 5G. I was on 300 minutes and 80gb which I wanted reduced. I had this package as I was away from original home overseeing the build on a new property therefore no home internet until recently. I would have liked just 100 minutes and 20gb. But no! As I am farang I can only reduce to 300 minutes and 60gb. So from 961THB inclusive tax to 747THB. Obviously cannot change supplier or number as my number is linked to bank etc. Another example of farang being singled out unfairly. Back in UK, same price regardless of nationality and probably the same for other western countries. But hey ho, I will just suck it up before anyone else says it. 😎
  16. We have two. One for the wife as all our clothes and school uniform is ironed upstairs. And the MIL has one as well downstairs for her clothing.
  17. That was good going! But you must remember this is now low season. My renewal is in late December so I renew late November. That is in high season and believe me, that does get rather busy!
  18. The office at Hua Hin used to participate but just not showing anymore. I have had appointments in the past for renewals of extension and it worked really well! Turn up just before the booked time and have the papers checked downstairs. Then up into the main office, go to the online desk, show them my copy of appointment and then told to take a seat. Within 10 minutes I was in front of an IO meanwhile others unfortunately had to wait in the queue. Brilliant. 😎
  19. Everywhere else except Prachuap Khiri Khan is on the Online Booking List. Not sure what has happened there.
  20. Has anyone got an up to date link for booking appointments at Hua Hin Immigration? It also appears that the entire Immigration website has gone down with an Error 404! Many thanks.
  21. 5 injured and by looks of it, not one helmet amongst them!!
  22. The message, which rapidly gained traction, warnsThais in France—approximately 80,000 strong including second and third-generation descendants While there are approximately 10,000 Thais in France The figure of 80,000 likely includes descendants of earlier immigrants. So pray do tell me what am I reading wrong?
  23. I did read it all and nothing is explained in the article by snoop1130!
