I live in the Phimai district and very content. Small town with almost 100% Thai food outlets with only 1 bar. We have a 6 months swimming subscription at the local Hotel and swim weekdays ( kids at the W/E ). Due to the lack of choice for food and entertainment we travel down to Pattaya every month or so. to sample the delights.

Airlines maybe.

Phimai Paradise Hotel is in the centre and a decent evening restaurant on the same road. A 5 min walk to the Historical Park. You'll need transport if you want to visit The Banjan Tree site. With daytime restaurants. There is a bar with food on the corner opposite the clock tower. Opens in the afternoon. Enjoy your visit.

There was a Prince Pilot on the Sqn who once a year invited the Sqn to his summer palace by the sea. No booze but the bar had all the empty optics up.
