  1. Well done Engerland. I really am becoming impressed. Today was defence, but I believe you have more. To be honest, this is not the most coherent Oz side, but I think you will get better and better. I hate your coach, but thaty doesn't matter when it comes to play. Well done

  2. Getting a work permit will not be dependent upon your visas validity. Your most recent 90 day entry from it will be what is important,

You could get a new 90 day entry as long as your do it on or before the enter before date on your visa. Then you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife.

This is what I thought too, but the dept of employment here is saying that once my visa date is out they cannot process my work permit. I'm not sure how correct that is as I used to get a work permit for 1 year, but now they will only allow 3 months as I was only allowed 3 months every time I did a border run. It could just be the head of the office though

Since 2008 a work permits validity is not linked to a persons permit to stay. The office is out of date with their requirements.

Many people are getting one year work permits with multiple entry non-b visas. Penang where many people get them requires at least 8 months of work permit validity to get them.

Yeah, it's very annoying as I used to get 1 year. Seems odd that the office was up to date and have now become out of date, but I have come to accept what they do. Unfortunately I have no idea where to find this info to put under their noses, and the school seem to be happy to just do 3 months at a time. I have to do a medical every 3 months (and pay for it), but that is all

  4. Of course you can go early no problem.

They will just stamp your current (still valid) visa VOID

Do you know if it is possible to do this over a month early? I think I am worried as all the extensions etc seem to be a maximum of 30 days early.

Sorry if I seem clueless, but I will have to travel for 9 hours to do this and I don't want to mess it up.

    Thanks for the reply

  5. Wales V England. good news for LFC. Lallana, and Sturridge great for us (mobile and active). Stirling...great for me.... he was rubbish. Hennesy good for the future. commanding in the box, told defence what to do, and sprightly. And finally...... England have to be panicing (?) Youhave to beat Slovakia, and they won't freeze like we did. By the way Rooney mat have to move back to midfield.... but he ain;t up to if

Rewrite---- Slovakia will be difficult, but you can beat them and onmly need a draw. Rooney was OK yesterday, but he will struggle against a well drilled and talented midfield

Still looked good for Liverpool though.

  6. I have a non -o visa (spouse) that ends on July 20th, but I need to apply for another one earlier (to make my life easier for my work permit application). I am trying to discover how early I can do this. I have read a few threads on here but they mainly talk about extending, and I am not sure that is the same.

I will go to Savanakhet to process the visa and it will be a brand new multiple entry visa for 1 year.

    Any help will be appreciated

    Cheers

  8. I think the OP is referring to people who seem to have a blatant disregard for their audience. A paragraph littered with gradeschool-type errors presents your readers with an obstacle course they must navigate if they're going to extract any meaning from your writing. If you expect people to read something you've written, the least you could do it give it a once-over for basic spelling and punctuation.

Find the typo above... Hint: it is in the last sentence.

    We all make mistakes.

Eggs actly. Wii are all I'm perfect

  9. Does anybody use Super math? I am looking for the answer key (CD) to the prathom books, but I can't find it anywhere. I have called the company, and they say they do not have it (or the teacher's book). This would really help my friend who is being snowed under at the moment.

  10. I think Wales will improve, but not as much as the ABs. England can improve too, but I think OZ will win the next one. I also think England will become nunmber 2 in the world over the next 2 years. Gutting for me to say, but I think they can handle the "new" rugby bettter than Wales, unless we can find new forwards to handle the pace and skill level that will be needed.

  11. England 2nds 27 - Wales 13

Well that margin was a little unexpected and should have been a deal more if George hadn't had such a god awful day off the tee

Looking forward to the summer tours now :-)

Surely the writings on the wall for Warrenball...........hallelujah !

Would have been a lot closewr if all the Wales team had not had an awful day. The Warrenball comment is unbelievable coming from England; surely the bane of flowing rugby for 2 decades

  12. Hmm, your wife has no debt but decides to bring this topic up!! Could be nothing, but perhaps its a mighty red flag in disguise.

Another big reason why you don't marry in someone else backyard, or build up assets in joint holdings.

The risk to rewards are definitely not in your favor.

Oh I forgot, for some marriage is not optional, so adjust your strategies. wai2.gif

Can you please read the oringinal post again. I have been married for 10 years , and know I can implicitly trust my wife. Just because your trust level has hit rock bottom, don't assume other people don't have trust any more.

  13. Oh dear, it seems a few posters have had bad experiences with their Thai wifes or girlfriends, and want to tar all Thai women with the same brush. As I said, read the original post. My wife did not bring this subject up, or plant the idea of a loan to be paid in my head. We were talking about a situation that could involve a friend of mine, and I was asking questions about how Thai people would handle the situation. This in turn lead to me asking about this particular situation.

if you want to give your opinion about this, that would be great. If you actually know anything, even better. However, if all you want to do is make insinuations about Thai women in general, and my wife in particular, can you go and start another of these " I have been hard done by by my wife/girlfriend" threads of your own.

  14. Assuming you are not covered by the 30 baht program/insurance I think you will find each hospital will limit the amount of care provided until you make payment and also hound you for any debts owed. Say a person needs a major operation or semi-expensive treatment and assuming it's not an emergency/a literally do it now situation, they would not do the operation/treatment until prepayment/they have assurance of payment.

Sure you hear stories of Thai hospitals getting stuck with unpaid bills from patients (like hospitals worldwide), but I expect on a percentage basis of all patients served it's a small percentage. Keep in mind hospitals are businesses too.

This coinversation came up as a friend was telling a story about his sister who had an accident while on holiday in Thailand. She was in hospital for 3 days while they conducted tests, and the test they gave her included MRI tests and CAT scans. They asked for no money before the tests, but said she had to pay before leaving the hospital; hence the question

  15. Ok so it is possible that a husband couls be responsible, and have joint assets used to pay a debt, but what if there are no assets? I conlude that you all believe that a man must pay the loan (or visa versa) on a partners debt you know nothing about.

Can anybody comment on a loan taken out by parents and the liability of the children?

I was asked another interesting question today. If you have no money to pay for hospital treatment, but have the treatment anyway, what do hospitals do in Thailand?

  16. Is a husband responsible for a loan taken out by his wife?

I am not in this situation, but my wife (no debt) tells me that if a wife defaults on her own loan, the husband is responsible; even though he may not even know about the loan.

This does interest me though, as my wife's family do have debts. Would the family be responsible for those loans, even if they are not co-signers or guarantors?

    Cheers
