  1. "How come the death toll of loner falang tourists is so high in Thailand ? In no other country do tourists pass away so fast. " So show us your sources and your statistics. I haven't seen or heard any such thing. Did you make that up, or just not good at math? I'm a loner falang and been here 10 years, perfect health. So much for your statistics.
  2. I'm sure if you asked them they'd be happy to tell you
  3. Brush up on your physics. You obviously know nothing about flying or aircraft. And no, watching Top gun doesn’t qualify you as an expert. Any aspect of flying requires an overabundance of caution as a fundamental rule. Any seemingly lightweight object can be hazardous or deadly to an aircraft flying at high speeds of over 600-700 mph, not by “taking out an aircraft” but by causing significant damage to critical elements such as control surfaces of the aircraft or possible consequences of evasive action. The damage from an AK47 round (that’s a machine gun bullet) does not come from its size or weight, which are miniscule, but from its velocity. At jet speeds everything becomes a bullet. A chunk of urethane foam took out the space shuttle Columbia by tearing a small barely visible hole in the wing. . Bird strikes can break windshields and take out engines. If the jet has only one engine a flame out can be fatal. Anything that blocks a jet intake can cause a flameout no matter what it’s made of. A chuck of tire tread is what blew up the Concorde when it got sucked into an engine. If a piece of engine turbine blade breaks off it becomes an armor piercing projectile. Just being distracted for a moment by a collision with an unknown object can be dangerous especially in a one seater with only one pilot at the controls. Any potential emergency requires split second decisions and responses. This is not a war situation and no one is expecting to encounter any threat or risk, so these things can catch a pilot off guard. Now I realize that half of all your fun here comes from ridiculing Thai culture, but in this case you threw the egg into your own face. Good luck with your further education, we’re all rooting for you.
  4. Fake water. Nothing to worry about. I believe that fake map you posted came from Trump's "Sharpie Weather Service"
  5. Do you always just make stuff up to post in comments? Do you do it to sound smart? Well it doesn't work, actually, quite the opposite. Better to actually think before you speak, and perhaps fact check.
  6. 7-11 does not use QR codes the same way as other merchants and private parties. They have some other more tedious process that I don't use.
  7. And what is the evidence to support YOUR claim and statements? You're an expert because . . . ?
  8. So where do you get your moral authority from? The judges ruled according to law. It's not up to you or any other person ignorant of the law and prone to slinging malicious judgements toward others. The reasons we have laws, constitutions and courts is because people like you are not qualified to decide the fate of other people. People in all civilized countries regularly have sentences reduced or they are paroled for due cause. That is because such people are regarded as redeemable, that they have true remorse for what they did, and not regarded as less than human as you seem prone to do. She is not profiting from her criminal activities. Her criminal activities were selling heroin. She paid the price for it. She didn't commit murder or a violent crime. She is not profiting from anything directly connected to anything illegal, nor is she doing anything illegal now from which she seeks to make profit. She is telling her story, which she is entitled to do. She doesn't require your sympathy. This story has nothing to do with sympathy. It's a true story of a true human experience and as such it has value. The malice that you display in your comment shows you to be a worse person than she is. She is certainly not a malicious, condescending, judgmental person. Think about that. I would not be in the same room with the likes of you. I feel sorry for your kids if you have them. I wonder what kinds of abuses you would justify against them or your partner. That's precisely what your comment suggests about you.
  9. You have to buy the book. Maybe she just went in her pants.
  10. People can suffer anxiety or panic attacks and do such things. I never pushed a car off a cliff, but I've done some things under such attacks. Not saying that's the case here though.
  11. What happened is that’s got nothing to do with predatory and deceptive price gouging which targets vulnerable tourists who are unaware of typical average prices. Go back to school, and while your at it ask your parents for a refresher course in right and wrong and general ethics
  12. Yes you can. I've been doing it for 7 years. You use Wise to transfer your income to a Thai bank, minimum 65,000 baht per month, once around the same day every month. They don't ask questions as long as it's a legitimate international transfer. You have to show one year's worth of statements showing the deposit. You order the one year's statement and get it by email in a few days. Stay away from visa services if you can, they use a fake deposit of 800,000 baht so that it shows up on paper, it works for most people but some have been caught. Also good advice, Kasikorn Bank gives you a phone app that lets you do international transfers back to your home country, it that country's currency, and if you choose the cheaper option it costs around 250 baht, and gets there within 12 hours. Only the phone app does this, and only through cell phone data. You have to download the app with cell phone data, switch off wifi. In your home country you can do this but once again, never use wifi, that will deactivate the app's services and you won't be able to reinstall the app unless you're in Thailand
  13. And that's what we don't know. Maybe he just couldn't afford life there any more and this was his only option, but was unable to navigate the legit options. I couldn't afford life in the US any more. Maybe he got bad advice from others, other overstayers. Lord knows, in 10 years I've gotten a lot of bad advice which I knew not to follow. We don't know what his story is, so we shouldn't make assumptions. I feel bad for anyone his age in this predicament, he could end up homeless on the streets on NZ.
  14. Happy to hear you found a nice life. I've been here 10 years and wouldn't dream of getting so much as a parking ticket. Squeaky clean.
  15. And there they go again - those dang pesky Thai racists picking on a poor farang.
  16. And so, once again, we see that not all of us are gifted with common sense. So applying our sense to someone who lacks it makes it a flawed equation. For example, why not get a retirement visa? But he may have mental health impairments or disability. I think it's likely he may have come here on a tourist visa, liked what he saw, and then decided to stay, which changed the whole thing at that point. I don't think very many overstayers plan it out in advance.
  17. "A knife-wielding man showcasing aggressive mannerisms" so he was auditioning for a part in a play?
  18. Does that go for cigarette smokers? Cigarette smoke literally stinks and is also a health hazard, secondhand cigarette smoke causes real health problems. Yeah, entitled cigarette addicts smoking anywhere they please are a scourge. So absolutely ALL smokers of all substances should be respectful and not pollute the air of others. But the cigarette pίgs will go to war with you if you ask them politely to refrain from doing it.
  19. I've never in my 67 years heard anyone complain about the smell of marijuana. It's earthy and incense like, and has no poisons in it. I don't smoke it but find the smell pleasant. Tobacco is a different story. Cigarette smoke literally stinks. Secondhand smoke is proven to cause health problems. People who smoke cigarettes around other people regardless of how it effects them are simply inconsiderate pίgs. Cigarette pigs. The fact that they can get away with it here but not in their home countries does not excuse their lack of courtesy and respect. There are reasons why you can't do it in most western countries.
  20. So leave if it's so bad. Is your country any better?
  21. everything is always about the money. I am speculating, this isn't even an opinion, but this might be a way of extorting more "taxes" (payoffs/brown envelopes) from the businesses in order to make the law go away.

  23. Yes, very easy, they have a separate room just for that. That way, if there is something wrong they will explain. I had the same happen to me. It might have been the phone number I used as a contact person, I think I used my own.
