hey ubonjoe, I just found a really cheap roundtrip flight but its from december 17th if I overstay 2 days and pay the 500baht x2 will this also not effect my chances of getting a setv? cause i found this roundtrip ticket for about $80 which is really good for me

can someone give me a number to a reputable bus company cause yea chan tour number didnt work for me (http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/chan-tour-co-hours-and-phone-numbers-t19877.html) and the number that asia travel gave me redirected me 3 times to a number that also didnt work
-
I just got redirected 3 times and the last number they gave me doesnt work, its like no one wants to deal with me lol, where the hell can I buy a bus ticket hahah
-
(sorry cant multiquote) @jackthompson I looked up chan tour but the number I got didnt work @asiantravelI called that number but said they dont do cm-nong kahi then redircted me to another place that redirected me to the cm bus terminal

okay so i think my plan will be to take a bus tomorrow from chiang mai to nong khai then I get to vientiane early on the 15th, I can do my visa stuff and I found a flight from udon thani to chiang mai at 5:45 on the 16th so i'll spend one night then catch a van from vientianne to udon thani and fly back and I can be in back in chiang mai by the night of the 16th, does this sound like a good plan? the whole trip (travelling) would be $100>. Where from vientianne to udon can I get a van?
A similar question:
http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/861561-can-i-make-it/
A lot depends on the length of the queues exiting Laos and entering Thailand. Depending on when you make it back to the Thai side of the bridge, you will know if you need to get a taxi direct to the airport or can take the van to udon, and go from there. Others with more recent experience to the airport may be able to give a better estimate.
cool thanks but where can I get this number or w.e it is? like do they have a number for the van service I can call once I arrive there or a website or something?

just waiting to confirm that my plan is good before I go buy the tickets haha

would this 1 day overstay effect my chances of getting a setv when I apply in vientienne?
-
cool thanks I think im gonna take the bus then since the flight times are bad and expensive, so on my visa it says I "need to leave the kingdom no lter than the 15th" so if I get my ticket for the 15th and only get out of the country early on the 16th will I be charged for overstay?
-
can i also get a SETV fromHo Chi Minh cause I see the flights are very cheap to there and back
-
srry just gonna ask, if I want to save money and go just by bus what is the fastest route and how much will it cost/ where can I buy the tickets?
-
so Im currently in chiang mai and want to learn a bit of thai. Where can I get a tutor and how much will it be? is it usually skype sessions or how do they do it?
-
So if Im living in a 30sqm studio apartment how much would I need to pay to have a maid clean my house/wash my clothes once a week?
-
alright cool I think I got it then thanks a lot for the help, so I can just get a van ticket when I arrive at the airport? also quick side question, are malls open today being a holiday and all?
-
It seems they may of stopped doing the fly/ride service to Vientiane. I get the same result you did when I check for flights.
Checking Chiang Mai to Udon Thani gives flight details. It seems you will need take the van from the airport in Udon to the bridge in Nong Khai.
alright thanks a lot it looks good, so if I get the 1week extension tomorrow at the cm immigration office I gotta leave on the 14th but the flights too late so looks like Im gonna have to spend 2 nights there then fly back on the 16th, do you know where I can get a ticket for the van? and does that only take me to the bridge or straight to vientiane?
-
ubon do you think you can send me a link with the tickets from dec 14? cause idk if the sites glitched for me or something but when I search it only shows me the flight times and has no prices nor an option to continue?
-
yea there is a small area for preparing food but i cant recall i THINK there is no stove and stuff (which idc about) but there is a kitchen sink, and yea its located close to cntral festival, is this a good area? btw are there any ghettos or projets in chiang mai that are actually dangerous to live? when I was in budapest we found a sick cheap place but turns out it was in the heart of the ghetto (but still had no problems)
-
okay cool awesome I think thats what I will do then, is there a flight+bus plan I can use to get to vienntiene cause all the flights to there and back are like $330+ and at bad times for the cheaper end ones
-
So while the OP was ruminating on the above, his already extended tourist visa will be expiring this Monday smack in the middle of a big holiday weekend with all the local Thai embassies/consulates closed many days.
Simple equation: No Visa = No chicks.
in my defence i didnt know thais took holidays and i thought border runs are simple plus it was my first week in chiang mai and i was trynna get it in
-
wow in chiang mai? you were living like super high class then right?
-
wow I just checked google and the gpp per capita in chiang mai is 107k baht? is this forreal? so people are living off 3k/year here? how much does the acvg yearly school tuition cost?
-
the price is 10.5k baht/m without internet and stuff. Jw what do most local thai people pay for their homes in rent (given its not owned). Because if for $290/m you can get such a place why do thai people live in like shacks and stuff lol. its 30sqm btw

today i found a condo that is owned by the same exact company that owns my current place, location is somewhat ****tier but the look/features is all the same. The room I saw is IDENTICAL to the one I'm currently staying in (except for all the fancy appliances), its got all the basics, chairs, tables, 46" plasma, bed, utensils, plates. Gym + pool, not sure about sauna and stuff, and its 1/5.5 the price Im currently paying, god I feel ripped off. damn airbnb
-
oh okay haha so yea is that plan good>>>
How long can I stay in thailand each year just as a "tourist"
