  1. okay so i think my plan will be to take a bus tomorrow from chiang mai to nong khai then I get to vientiane early on the 15th, I can do my visa stuff and I found a flight from udon thani to chiang mai at 5:45 on the 16th so i'll spend one night then catch a van from vientianne to udon thani and fly back and I can be in back in chiang mai by the night of the 16th, does this sound like a good plan? the whole trip (travelling) would be $100>. Where from vientianne to udon can I get a van?

    A similar question:

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/861561-can-i-make-it/

A lot depends on the length of the queues exiting Laos and entering Thailand. Depending on when you make it back to the Thai side of the bridge, you will know if you need to get a taxi direct to the airport or can take the van to udon, and go from there. Others with more recent experience to the airport may be able to give a better estimate.

cool thanks but where can I get this number or w.e it is? like do they have a number for the van service I can call once I arrive there or a website or something?

  3. It seems they may of stopped doing the fly/ride service to Vientiane. I get the same result you did when I check for flights.

Checking Chiang Mai to Udon Thani gives flight details. It seems you will need take the van from the airport in Udon to the bridge in Nong Khai.

alright thanks a lot it looks good, so if I get the 1week extension tomorrow at the cm immigration office I gotta leave on the 14th but the flights too late so looks like Im gonna have to spend 2 nights there then fly back on the 16th, do you know where I can get a ticket for the van? and does that only take me to the bridge or straight to vientiane?

  4. yea there is a small area for preparing food but i cant recall i THINK there is no stove and stuff (which idc about) but there is a kitchen sink, and yea its located close to cntral festival, is this a good area? btw are there any ghettos or projets in chiang mai that are actually dangerous to live? when I was in budapest we found a sick cheap place but turns out it was in the heart of the ghetto (but still had no problems)

  5. So while the OP was ruminating on the above, his already extended tourist visa will be expiring this Monday smack in the middle of a big holiday weekend with all the local Thai embassies/consulates closed many days.

Simple equation: No Visa = No chicks.

in my defence i didnt know thais took holidays and i thought border runs are simple plus it was my first week in chiang mai and i was trynna get it in

  6. the price is 10.5k baht/m without internet and stuff. Jw what do most local thai people pay for their homes in rent (given its not owned). Because if for $290/m you can get such a place why do thai people live in like shacks and stuff lol. its 30sqm btw

  7. today i found a condo that is owned by the same exact company that owns my current place, location is somewhat ****tier but the look/features is all the same. The room I saw is IDENTICAL to the one I'm currently staying in (except for all the fancy appliances), its got all the basics, chairs, tables, 46" plasma, bed, utensils, plates. Gym + pool, not sure about sauna and stuff, and its 1/5.5 the price Im currently paying, god I feel ripped off. damn airbnb
