Copies?  I have never provided copies of anything for my 90 day report at Jomtien.  I just produce my passport, they check the stamps and my last report certificate, ask if I am still at the same address and then place a new paper receipt in the passport.

Things may change, forewarned is forearmed!

At least in Khon Kaen they always ask for all documents and the staff most helpful.

The 90 day report is in no way linked to your visa. It is simply a confirmation of your domicile, nothing more, and requires you to confirm your location, a copy of your passport data page, a copy of your current visa & entry permit, a copy of your last date of entry stamp and a copy of your arrival departure card. And the original of the last 90 day  report certificate.

You only need the bank letter next time you apply for a visa extension.

    Thanks brommers.

I assume. under the new regulations, that will mean a bank letter WILL BE required for the 2 month period BEFORE applying for a new retirement extension ?

You will not need it for your 90 day report. Number one reason is the new rules only apply for extension done after March 1st. And the rules do not state anything about showing you bank balance when doing a 90 day report.

Many thanks for the visa info Ubon.

On another question I have been thinking about moving to Ubon, possibly across the bridge ( Warin Chamrap area ), do you know of any good estate agents there ?

Can vegetarians eat eggs and cheese?

    Where are the vegetables?

A vegetarian is generally considered to mean someone who does not eat meat but may eat other products such as milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, honey.   Some may also continue to eat fish.

A vegan generally means someone who does not eat animal products.

Strict vegans ( Krsihna's ) would also consider certain vegetables as being 'hot' e.g. onions, mushrooms etc. and would also not use the same cooking utensils that have been to make meat dishes.

Many products may contain eggs and/or milk e.g. pasta, 3-in-1 coffees, so looking at food labels may help.

Back in the 1960-70's some people who went on the hippie trails to India would suddenly decide to become vegans, this of course gave rise to very ill health.    Protein deficiency being one such problem.

Thailand does offer a range of foodstuffs in local markets suitable for either a vegetarian or vegan diet, Mediterranean and Arab dishes are another alternative.

Whatever food regime you intend to try take a sensible approach.    No two people are alike in relation to their bodies food requirements.

    i will persist

    Good for you.

I have worked in farming since 1961 ( aged 15 in UK ) so, my dietary and care of wildlife lifestyle is at complete odds with my work.     I have tried to teach compassion in farming in whatever country I may have been working.   This benefits the animal and can give a higher income to the farmer if he is producing more in numbers for the market ( less loss from disease ) and, a better quality carcass due to housing conditions.

I became a vegetarian in 1971 after seeing a natural loss of life in drought ridden areas of Australia.

Later on in the 1970's I became a vegan and still follow such a diet today.    Some of my English family are also vegetarians, part by allergies and part by choice.

I noticed that as a competition swimmer in the pool and sea swimmer plus, being an avid body surfer when location permitted, a vegetarian diet, that is meat free, seemed to give me more stamina and less aggression.   A daughter found the same when she changed her diet and continued to do competitive swimming.    It seemed that red meats were the aggressive factor whilst a fish diet / white meat diet lowered the aggressiveness.

Many of the other posts point out that it's 'not for them', yes true vegan food is almost impossible to find here in Thailand, when people call themselves 'vegetarian' can be very variable in what is eaten.

Yes, we have become omnivores but perhaps we should look at a more balanced diet for general health reasons.

  6. The excuse for burning used to be, to get rid of snakes before the cutters went in ...

As I visited numerous farms on business over very many years ( not sugarcane farms ), I often encountered snakes and, was once shown a large python which the workers had caught and were going to sell for meat in the market.

See the web link below for some interesting general info about sugarcane.

Omron is a well known international brand used in many hospitals here. Units for home use that look similar to the one lopburi posted go for about 2000 baht last time I saw some in Boots. Most modern pharmacies stock a few brands, probably lower priced than Boots.

Agree 100% about Omron and arm band model.

I would suggest you not buy a wrist band type.

In order to watch those programs, you need to install a VPN...

    Thanks Thaijack2014.

I have a VPN choice through my Antivirus program and some browsers I know also have a VPN option.

In the past I used to watch Sky News which only allowed viewing when VPN was set to England, one day my machine crashed when viewing Sky, I tried again and it did the same thing, seemed to be when using Epic browser.

Will try the "wwitv" you suggested.

  9. Can anyone advise of a suitable browser extension or separate downloader for Yandex, Brave, Tor ?

I have tried and use the following browsers FlashPeak Slimjet, Firefox and Comodo IceDragon.

I don't directly use Google although I understand many browsers are Google based etc.

I understand that Youtube now block many downloads as does Dailymotion.

My main interest is in UK / Australian TV series, especially the older ones.   The 4K browser still works well with some.

I also note that film sites that used to allow downloads of TV series etc. dubbed in Thai also block.

Also I have never been able to get Videodownload Helper to work nor ANT.

Yes, I appreciate the risks with any 3rd party app.

  10. Not sure if anyone is still following this.

If they are can someone tell me what star, which is VERY bright, is appearing below the ISS around 4.30 - 5.30am ?

The ISS is roughly ESE of the sunrise position and the star looks as though it is the bottom left corner of a 4 lights box layout with the ISS at top left.

I live about 50Km south of Khon Kaen.

  11. A friend who produces almond milk on a small scale lets me have the fibre for free.

The fibre can only be used in a limited way as it sticks easily in the throat particularly when making savoury biscuits.

There are some recipes on line which I have tried, e.g. as an ingredient in smoothies and for biscuits,  some I have modified to reduce the cost of the end product.

I would imagine it can be used as part of an animals diet e.g. with ducks or chickens.

Please note I am a vegan but would be prepared to use eggs in a recipe for others.

Prefer not to use a food processor.

Has anyone found a good way to use almond nut fibre ?

I am registered with the Nasa website that sends me notifications when the Space Station is coming over. Always good info, tells me the time, length of visibility, where in the sky it appears and where it disappears.

When we were in Saudi we used to go out at night to view it, clearer skies meant a better view, and my Son was always excited to see it, looking up on the net who was inside, what they were doing etc. As you say, a great educational tool for the Kids ( and some adults !! )

Spent 9 years in Saudi in the 1980's many kms from any town or city.   Yes, the night skies were beautiful, shame there were no large manmade objects visible at that time.

     Hello Speedo 1968

Duang has decided to put the next duck venture on hold for the time being due to the hassles we had ,   thanks again for your input and interest Speedo 1968 we will have to wait and see what happens down the line.

    one baht .

it's a shame but probably the wisest thing to do.

Perhaps there are alternative things you can do with the land that require less financial input / risk; for example grow some of your own food, can include meat items ( even though I have always been in farming I have been a vegan for many years ).   It's a good time of year to consider what to do as the weather is kinder.

    Good luck.

Youv'e been watching too many movies, hanging dead animals on fences does happen, but it is not normal practice, lets not give the wrong impression here, people will think we are a bunch of savages.

No offence meant.   Spent some years in Australia and visited a number of times in relation to farming.

  15. I am an oldie and not very technically minded.

When using older versions of Windows Word it was possible to add and save 'more' shapes for inserting in to text.

The version I have now Win7 - MS Office Home and Student 2013 does not allow for adding more shapes.

I am trying to add moon phases to a calendar I am making ( have made a range of calendars in the past but never with moon phases ) but suitable shapes are not available in the Insert Shapes folder.

Can anyone advise how I can do this another way ?    The moon phases should be either black / white or yellow / white.

  16. Feral cats and dogs can be a problem everywhere, had these on a farm in a desert area of Saudi.   The local city "Rent-a-Kill would bring trapped / caught dogs and cats and dump them near the farm.    Previously there had been wild cats and dog species that balanced nature very well, the city animals soon put paid to that.  The consequences were more snakes and scorpions around the farm and short lived days for the city strays.

In Australia they kill foxes and hang them on the fence, the dingoes, kangaroos, camels and brumbies ( wild horses ) sometimes face a similar fate.
